When you learn about Ren you'll love and respect him more and more. He's been thru so so much with his health, and the music industry. But he's remained authentic. So glad you discovered the world of Ren!
I think a lot about what he went and is still going through but esp when he was extremely ill. It was like actual physical torture and then to be told it's in your head and given pills that give you psychosis on top of your body torture is something I can barely imagine. He hasn't just looked into the void, he's been there.
I found this song 3 weeks ago and it literally saved my life. He did inspire the meek to be strong. I have spent the last three weeks happily falling down the rabbit hole that is the World of Ren. Welcome new friend!
When you are into "deep songs with meaning, lyricism and storytelling" Ren is definitively the path to go. A modern Shakespeare + Bard who is also performance-wise acting out what the song contentwise delivers = a multitalented artist who shows diversity in his music = rapping with multiple flows + singing + playing several instruments + producing his own beats + composing his own melodies and therefore also a fully independent + authentic artist decoupled from the mainstream music industry in order to be able to do that all And I wiil not give any recommendation because what ever Ren song you´ll pick will amaze you, will stun you and will make you think deep at the same time...So all I have left to say is "Welcome to the artistic world of Ren"

Welcome to Ren, great reaction, loved your honesty, subbed. Ren is still sick. He has undiagnosed Lyme disaease for years which ripped his body and mind apart. He is still not better but is a long way past his darkest days. A lot of songs have his struggle in and he plays off the duplicity a lot. Another Great work is The Tale of Jenny and Screech. You must watch the 13 minute version and whatever you do.... DO NOT watch Violets tale before watching this as it has spoilers. No rush to watch it but be ready to be blown away. Anything else you can watch out of order... like the money game trilogy, any order but money game part 3 won video awards although I personally prefer 1 & 2. Everyone is different and we respect your preferences. He has been in 2 bands, Trick the Fox and The Big Push. His early work from Trick the Fox is also Awesome, all of Rens are... But The Big Push has some awesome songs, especially when busking. Try The Big Push Wade on the Water /etc, I think thats his second most popular vid.

Great reaction 👏 Ren has one hellava story, he was signed by Sony when he was younger but became so ill he couldn’t get out of bed for about a year so parted ways with Sony. The next 10 years he was misdiagnosed with lots of illnesses and consequently was prescribed lots of diff meds that just made him worse. He is now getting treatment for auto immunity, Lyme disease. this song blew up whilst he was in Canada getting treatment. There’s soo many Ren songs that I would recommend you to react to, to stay with the bard type songs I’d say say do the Tales of Jenny and screech trilogy, very dark but a great story which also done in one take like Hi-Ren
Ren (he is Welsh) was mis-daignosed and mis-treated for 8 years for psychosis and mental health issues and was told by doctors that it 'was all in his head!' Eventually after 8 or 9 years he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease. By this time the damage to his body and brain had been done. He is currently receiving treatment, including stem cell transplants, to try and repair as much of the damage as the can and to save the rest. As are the vast majority of Ren's videos, this was performed LIVE and in ONE take - though 4 or 5 attempts were made.

Correction, he was miss diagnosed with fadigue syndrome, depression and PTSD. The psychosis was a consequence of the Lyme disease reaching his brain. He had the stem cell transplant years ago. He was under a treatment in Canada to rebalance his brain by recreating new neurological connections and he was also doing a battery of antibiotics to try put the Lyme disease on remission. Unfortunately, he announced a couple of days ago that the treatment failed and he will need to go back to Canada to do an even harsher treatment. He will be away from music for a while, he will start the treatment on the second half of next month. Hi Ren was not a true one take. he had 4 takes of video and 4 takes of the audio (plus a few ones without the audio) and due to the complications, he had going through with the video's basement's landlord, he had to edit all those takes to make one. Thats when he called it a one take Frank Stein, as he had to put all the pieces together, sometimes with on segment with the audio of another take and so on.
This young man is definitely worth investing your time in, not just for you but also for your followers. He is totally 100% authentic even with his health issues. His variety of music and topics will keep you entertained and human. I truly hope he gets to a place in this lifetime where he can enjoy his creations and rewards without as much difficulty.

I personally hate trying to come up with what Ren songs to react to next. Sick Boi or Troubles if you want to know more about his health struggles. Chalk Outlines if you want beautiful singing with a deep message. The Hunger or Losing It if you want to see him in rap god mode. The ‘Tales’ trilogy if you want a tragedy that’s as good as anything Shakespeare ever wrote. “Mackay” if you want a piano instrumental? I get it. The healing codes in this song require a bit of integration. They're in all of his music because they flow out of him. Some songs are light codes of fun. Some of a deeper understanding of the human condition. No, I don't know the man. I just see light codes and he's shiny AF, lol. I feel like everyone who sees Hi Ren falls just a little bit in love with his soul unless they are beyond the reach of authentic emotion. I’m a little late, but welcome to the multitalented genius Ren! ❤️ This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. Ren is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art. Other Renegades will probably recommend songs like Sick Boi and Troubles for insight into his story with illness and years of misdiagnosis. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning. And a little help to guide you on your journey: While I’m sure plenty of people will tell you to react to the trilogy of tales in the correct order, it is often overlooked that there are a few other songs best done in order of release (though doesn’t have to be in one sitting): Freckled Angels -> Suic!de -> For Joe. I'll say this because I haven't seen anybody else say it. Yes this was done live in that room. Usually he does one takes in the many of his songs. Because of time restraints this one does have Cuts in it. I've heard a few different variations of how they did it but the most ones and what I have heard him say is that they shot it four times and kind of frankensteined this one together . New to the channel and I absolutely love your insights and thirst for meaningful music! Ren was misdiagnosed and was treated for bipolar depression. He actually had Lymes disease and that went UNtreated for all that time allowing the virus to ravage his body and brain. Other Renegades will likely provide the whole story, but that is a start. He’s still sick, he’s better, but up until recently was being treated in Canada for brain damage etc, he still suffers with symptoms and takes a tonne of meds to help him stay better. How he does all this with that going on is beyond me.

New sub here from somewhere near Liverpool U.K 🎉... subbed to travel with you into the Ren rabbit hole. I fell down in Jan 2023 & I'm never ever leaving. There are treasures literally everywhere you look & no 2 tracks are the same ... not remotely similar & span all genres, now & again even within the same song. Ren is in his own genre as you will find out, his music will make you bop your head, laugh, cry, soul search. His personal story is an inspiration to all of us & because of the nature of alot of his music it has drawn in many broken humans who in turn have gathered in many , many online communities & we have ended up becoming support groups to each other all of which has happened organically. ❤
When you were talking about wanting to connect with the music at the start of the video, I knew Ren would be right for you. Even for the things he's been through that I can't personally relate to, I still find something in those songs. Whether it's just a particular vibe, or the way he masterfully wields the power of music to tell stories and give me glimpses into portions of his life, I respect and admire him and his work.
Ren does something so great... no matter who you are: a metalhead, classical composer, therapist, rapper, popsinger, vocalcoach... he captures them all... I never was a fan of rapmusic, but I can listen his rapsongs on repeat😂 I love that he cant be put in a genre. We should all be like that, we all have many sides❤

Ren is a chameleon. He can play all genres and at times will mash a couple of them together to make something totally new. He's the only artist I know of during my lifetime that actually becomes his music when he's playing it. He's a genius musically and has more talent in his pinky than anyone should be allowed. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his adult life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. After watching a lot of reactions, the majority of the really good ones have someone instantly getting hit by the "loosen the noose on the rope" line, and often it's predictable early on which people will probably get it and which ones probably won't, and I had great confidence in your response from pretty much the moment you started reacting that it would hit you as hard as it hit me. (Also, "wow!" is the response to the end of the video from like 75%+ of the people I've seen to react to it - it seems like despite English having so many words, there isn't a great alternative to that one.)

I think a lot about what he went and is still going through but esp when he was extremely ill. It was like actual physical torture and then to be told it's in your head and given pills that give you psychosis on top of your body torture is something I can barely imagine. He hasn't just looked into the void, he's been there.
I found this song 3 weeks ago and it literally saved my life. He did inspire the meek to be strong. I have spent the last three weeks happily falling down the rabbit hole that is the World of Ren. Welcome new friend!

A modern Shakespeare + Bard who is also performance-wise acting out what the song contentwise delivers = a multitalented artist who shows diversity in his music = rapping with multiple flows + singing + playing several instruments + producing his own beats + composing his own melodies and therefore also a fully independent + authentic artist decoupled from the mainstream music industry in order to be able to do that all

Ren is still sick. He has undiagnosed Lyme disaease for years which ripped his body and mind apart. He is still not better but is a long way past his darkest days. A lot of songs have his struggle in and he plays off the duplicity a lot.
Another Great work is The Tale of Jenny and Screech. You must watch the 13 minute version and whatever you do.... DO NOT watch Violets tale before watching this as it has spoilers. No rush to watch it but be ready to be blown away.
Anything else you can watch out of order... like the money game trilogy, any order but money game part 3 won video awards although I personally prefer 1 & 2. Everyone is different and we respect your preferences.

Great reaction 👏 Ren has one hellava story, he was signed by Sony when he was younger but became so ill he couldn’t get out of bed for about a year so parted ways with Sony. The next 10 years he was misdiagnosed with lots of illnesses and consequently was prescribed lots of diff meds that just made him worse. He is now getting treatment for auto immunity, Lyme disease. this song blew up whilst he was in Canada getting treatment.
There’s soo many Ren songs that I would recommend you to react to, to stay with the bard type songs I’d say say do the Tales of Jenny and screech trilogy, very dark but a great story which also done in one take like Hi-Ren
I’ve listened to many reactions since I first heard this over a year ago, still the same chills, it is an astonishing piece of work/art. Andy UK
Ren (he is Welsh) was mis-daignosed and mis-treated for 8 years for psychosis and mental health issues and was told by doctors that it 'was all in his head!' Eventually after 8 or 9 years he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease. By this time the damage to his body and brain had been done. He is currently receiving treatment, including stem cell transplants, to try and repair as much of the damage as the can and to save the rest.
As are the vast majority of Ren's videos, this was performed LIVE and in ONE take - though 4 or 5 attempts were made.
I think it’s so cool how resilient (and persistent) he is/was to be heard. Sounds like music very much might have kept him alive without not knowing the whole story.. thank you for checking out the channel and tuning in, Ren has been amazing so far!! 🔥💙✌️
Correction, he was miss diagnosed with fadigue syndrome, depression and PTSD. The psychosis was a consequence of the Lyme disease reaching his brain. He had the stem cell transplant years ago. He was under a treatment in Canada to rebalance his brain by recreating new neurological connections and he was also doing a battery of antibiotics to try put the Lyme disease on remission. Unfortunately, he announced a couple of days ago that the treatment failed and he will need to go back to Canada to do an even harsher treatment. He will be away from music for a while, he will start the treatment on the second half of next month.
Hi Ren was not a true one take. he had 4 takes of video and 4 takes of the audio (plus a few ones without the audio) and due to the complications, he had going through with the video's basement's landlord, he had to edit all those takes to make one. Thats when he called it a one take Frank Stein, as he had to put all the pieces together, sometimes with on segment with the audio of another take and so on.

I get it. The healing codes in this song require a bit of integration. They're in all of his music because they flow out of him. Some songs are light codes of fun. Some of a deeper understanding of the human condition. No, I don't know the man. I just see light codes and he's shiny AF, lol. I’m a little late, but welcome to the multitalented genius Ren! ❤️ This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. Ren is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art.
Other Renegades will probably recommend songs like Sick Boi and Troubles for insight into his story with illness and years of misdiagnosis. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.
And a little help to guide you on your journey: While I’m sure plenty of people will tell you to react to the trilogy of tales in the correct order, it is often overlooked that there are a few other songs best done in order of release (though doesn’t have to be in one sitting): Freckled Angels -> Suic!de -> For Joe.

I'll say this because I haven't seen anybody else say it. Yes this was done live in that room. Usually he does one takes in the many of his songs. Because of time restraints this one does have Cuts in it. I've heard a few different variations of how they did it but the most ones and what I have heard him say is that they shot it four times and kind of frankensteined this one together . He’s still sick, he’s better, but up until recently was being treated in Canada for brain damage etc, he still suffers with symptoms and takes a tonne of meds to help him stay better. How he does all this with that going on is beyond me.

If you want more storytelling the Jenny and Screech trilogy. And all of his songs with his band, The Big Push. Their covers of an Englishman in New York and Bongo Bong are both fun with amazing harmonies.
He has such a huge collection of past works. Heretic is one of his older ones and my favourite, but all the big ones have to be done. New sub here from somewhere near Liverpool U.K 🎉... subbed to travel with you into the Ren rabbit hole. I fell down in Jan 2023 & I'm never ever leaving. There are treasures literally everywhere you look & no 2 tracks are the same ... not remotely similar & span all genres, now & again even within the same song. Ren is in his own genre as you will find out, his music will make you bop your head, laugh, cry, soul search. His personal story is an inspiration to all of us & because of the nature of alot of his music it has drawn in many broken humans who in turn have gathered in many , many online communities & we have ended up becoming support groups to each other all of which has happened organically. ❤

When you were talking about wanting to connect with the music at the start of the video, I knew Ren would be right for you. Even for the things he's been through that I can't personally relate to, I still find something in those songs. Whether it's just a particular vibe, or the way he masterfully wields the power of music to tell stories and give me glimpses into portions of his life, I respect and admire him and his work.

Ren does something so great... no matter who you are: a metalhead, classical composer, therapist, rapper, popsinger, vocalcoach... he captures them all... I never was a fan of rapmusic, but I can listen his rapsongs on repeat😂 I love that he cant be put in a genre. We should all be like that, we all have many sides❤
Oh, you're gonna enjoy this journey into the world of Ren. I also have to say that very early you picked up on the fact that this is very personal to him and he's gone through hell. Ren is a chameleon. He can play all genres and at times will mash a couple of them together to make something totally new. He's the only artist I know of during my lifetime that actually becomes his music when he's playing it. He's a genius musically and has more talent in his pinky than anyone should be allowed. .Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell.
Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his adult life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease.
He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too.

After watching a lot of reactions, the majority of the really good ones have someone instantly getting hit by the "loosen the noose on the rope" line, and often it's predictable early on which people will probably get it and which ones probably won't, and I had great confidence in your response from pretty much the moment you started reacting that it would hit you as hard as it hit me.
(Also, "wow!" is the response to the end of the video from like 75%+ of the people I've seen to react to it - it seems like despite English having so many words, there isn't a great alternative to that one.)

You’re going to get a ton of suggestions from other Renegades, but in my opinion, a great 2nd listen to Ren would be ‘Troubles’.
It gives a nice explanation of what his life has been the last 13+ years (not a super deep dive) but lays a good groundwork to both, who he is, as well as his perspective of hope and how good the world could be if we all came together
Ren heals us all and makes us better people.
