I ordered the Zoom98 a few days ago from Meletrix on a group buy. This is my first custom keyboard, I wanted something solid and went all out. I ordered the Black Anodized version with gold trim, all the modules, an anodized gold external weight, the internal weight, a brass plate, Tri-mode non split pcb, WS Morandi switches and WS PBT WOB keycaps. The board doesn't arrive until January. Looking forward to building it. Thanks for the video.

@@curryuku Ah shit- i hate that this is a skill i even NEED.. Very disapointing
with only being 1 key narrower than a standard full size keyboard i feel the zoom 98 is missing the mark on why people like 98 style keyboards... ie being only slightly larger than a TKL. They should go back to the drawing board with this one.
Yeah that's fair, it's nearly the same size as my monsgeek m5 which is sorta crazy

Bluetooth doesn't require a usb dongle. It does come with a 2.4ghz dongle tho which comes in a small bag included with the tri mode pcb

I absolutely love the Zoom sound. I have the 65% and sounds so marbly/creamy. I almost want to collect all the Zoom boards.

I don't think so. Afaik the board cones with all the foams
I just can't decide, flex cut or no flex cut. I have everything else picked out. I know from other builds I've done that I don't like my heavy tactile silent switches with gasket mount. So I would have to go heavy tactile again. I've tried a gasket mount that moves a good bit but never a flex cut pcb.
Will it flex too much with a heavy tactile? I can imagine getting a pcb that is not really flat and the keycaps not being flat. I'm leaning toward no flex cut.
If you're planning to use case and plate foam then flex cut pcb will be just fine. If not then go for no flexcut

These are the 3.69mm travel version since I can't find the shorter one but they're basically the same other than a slightly different stem material and longer travel minokeys.com/products/cow-switches-uhmwpe-linear-switches
@@SimulatorTech I found a site last night and wasn’t sure if they were the same from IFD. Let me look for them. They also have the 2 different stems.

Cow switches were manufactured by ifk who produced both versions so yeah it's right. The sound may be slightly different tho bc of the different stem material (pom vs uhmwpe)
