in 200 years. pink floyds music will still be around. like mozart
They should send their albums on the next probe leaving solar system for beings 2 billion years from now 😉
Absolutely-their music is one masterpiece after the other and will stand the test of time
In my casket bury me with Mozart, tool, and Pink Floyd.
This is exactly what I think, always, about Pink Floyd specificaly.
Rick Wright plays an underappreciated role on this record. Such atmospheric keys. Makes it all come together.
Wouldn't be the same without him for sure 😊
L'âme de PF
Quite possibly the greatest track ever written...Gilmore's guitar work is unparalleled
Best PF song.
Best song ever
Shine on you is better
Animals is based on George Orwell's novella "Animal Farm". 1. "Pigs" - despotic dictators, politician, leaders; 2. "Dogs" - predatory owners, billioners, businessmen 3. "Sheep" - mindless common folk following leaders (religious, politicians... etc) "Whereas the novella focuses on Stalinism, the album is a critique of capitalism and differs again in that the sheep eventually rise up to overpower the dogs"
And yet, isn't it just a dog at the beginning and at the last?
@Penderyn Lewsyn That is what the British thought in 1774. Ooops.
The sheep overpower the dogs, but then they go home without adressing the problems with the system, and the Pigs live to rule another day.
"Have you heard the news?
The dogs are dead
You better stay home
And do as you're told
Get out of the road if you want to grow old"
It bashes capitalism, but Floyd didn't mind the riches, that said capitalism afforded them.
@@royalway12 well, its not like you can just choose not to participate in your country's economic system. Unless you want to be homeless. Do you think everyone that disagrees with capitalism should burn their paychecks?
Imagine being a 16 year-old, knowing very little of Pink Floyd's music (or anything else for that matter) going to an unfamiliar house, dropping acid for the very first time, and having this song coming through the surround sound speakers in a black light room. To say my mind was completely blown would be a vast understatement. I became completely obsessed with this album and this band, and have been for over forty years now.
You were 16 but I was 5 when I hear it!!!!
I was 16 when this came out. I've never grown tired of it, and consider it the pinnacle of the Floyd's creativity...
Hey Z-man I hear ya bud, same youth same circumstance..
For me it was magic mushrooms and an old battery operated cassette player with one cassette - DSOTM on one side and WYWH on the other. We were sat in a field on a summer evening tripped out of our trees, listening to those 2 albums over and over again and I think my brain was irrevocably changed that night. I went into that trip a child and came out of it a committed, obsessed, lifelong Floydian. Animals is definitely my favourite album though. I bought it the day it came out and I don't think a week has gone by since then that I haven't listened to it.
For me it was inhaling a hit of Orange Sunshine, a four way hit, mind you. About a minute later the dude dropped the needle on Echoes and I soared out of my body for the duration of the rest of the album. Been a die hard Pink Floyd fan ever since. To me David Gilmour represents the pinnacle of musicianship. What that man can do with one string,, bending it to its ultimate pitch is incredible. I was 21 back then, I’m 70 now and have requested that Pink Floyd be played at my memorial, having had to make those dreaded preparations due to a terminal illness. But I’m doing fine for now. Headphones are always within reach, Heaven at my command. 🥰❤️

Dogs is one of the greatest songs ever written
THE greatest imo
Funny story here: I used to listen to this a lot when it was first released. One night I have it on and it gets to the part where the dogs are barking and howling. All of a sudden I hear howling coming from right next to me. I open my eyes to see my little shizu dog with her snout in the air howling her head off. She did it every time she heard this. She's been gone for years, but every time I hear this I remember my little loyal companion.
My dogs all have done the same... love the connection.
Same. I had a sheltie and a german shepherd. They loved this song and would come running to sing along.
I know someone with a pet pig named Floyd. I should ask whether he's ever reacted to "Pigs (Three Different Ones)."
Gilmour's guitar work on this album is unparalleled. I'm sorry, it's just the truth.
Most guitar fills on this album where actually played by Rodger though...
@@jaiawincer3685 yes and most bass by Gilmour.
@@jaiawincer3685 not the soloing. Roger is still just a bass player
@@jaiawincer3685 Not.
@Pink Freud I totally agree. It’s always been my favorite. I understand what Jaia is trying to say, but they don’t quite see the whole picture.
The greatest Band ever.
Dude on the left really liked the song. Dude on the right felt it in the deepest part of his soul.
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” such an amazing album
I think “Animals” should be listened to from the beginning to the end ♥️🎶🎸🎤♥️
We will after listening to the major songs from the album and we'll post it on Patreon.
@@broaction5343 you won’t regret one single minute ♥️ From a lifetime Floyd lover & fan 🎶🎸🎤
Without a doubt.
hippie watching on RUclips at SATANISTS REACT TO PINK FLOYD
This is the definition of a guitar singing. Incredible song and album.
Yes I was thinking same, the guitar is so richly expressive and nuanced it’s almost a human voice, made me think of talking drums and sympathetic strings ☺️
Front to back, this album (in spite of its relative obscurity) is probably their finest work lyrically (all great, but Dogs is the magnum opus). It really needs to be experienced in one single session to get the full emotional impact (although you really would have to be a Brit in the 70's to fully comprehend the social/economic/political impact).
I've listened to the record hundreds of times and I still got goosebumps!
same here
Pink Floyd never ceases to blow my mind. Pure genius. Dave Gilmour kills it. Excellent reaction, Bro's. 🤘🎸🔥
Thanks Lisa :)
Animals my favourite work. Concept, lyrics, music line, soundscape, graphic/photography, mixing. All is superior here
This is not just the greatest PF song. It's the greatest rock and roll song ever made.
Only ignorants underrate this album
@@Niya847 this
One spoiler though, on the next two songs “Pigs” and “Sheep” David Gilmour also plays bass guitar. The runs he does on Pigs will blow your mind.
My boyfriend, now my husband and I were lucky so so lucky to see them twice live 20 years apart .The music ,artistry and the show that they produced changed our lives forever .After the last concert we saw them preform live,WE never went to another concert. Nobody could have ever compared to them live. Once you hear Floyd nothing else matters.
Oh how lucky we were back then. I was so so lucky to see their last 3 tours (1980, 1988, 1994). My son's first ever concert was Roger Waters The Wall. I spoiled and ruined him at the same time....lol
@@jimo7593 How right you are we had our oldest stand in line for tickets! lol
"Dogs" represents the competitive, ruthless businessmen who take advantage of people. Check out song facts for the rest of the meaning.
Yes, it is about businessmen on the surface. It is about the entirety of our species, no matter the profession. Religious leaders, politicians, cops, criminals, doctors, scientists all have to have our trust and every single person will lie to better their lives, professionally and personally. We are the virus that will kill off our own species...
@@Wolverines77 True enough!
@@Wolverines77 I concur. The example in the song is obviously a businessman, but it's just an example. One of my favorite concepts in this song and really the album, is with regards to all our `bad blood` (as in the bad blood we've created through our actions,) turning to stone and that stone dragging us down in the end. The other being the realization in the end that it was all just an illusion. He had been collared and chained the whole time.
I thought those were the pigs...
Pink Floyd is like a good author: you pick up something new, something you missed every time you revisit their works.
David: Some transitions would be better in a 17 minute song.
Roger: Yes
"You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to"! "Dogs"! "Other worldly"! "I have chills, man"! "Pink Floyd, man"! Exactly!
There is no shame in not fully comprehending the lyrical meaning of a Floyd masterpiece like this upon hearing it for the very first time. The sounds the music the amazing vocals and guitar, the arrangements, production... just the overall experience can be overwhelming the first time around. I suspect most of us had that exact same experience you just did the first time we heard this. I know I did. Not a clue what I had just listened to intellectually, just an out of body experience that finally released its grip after 17 jaw-dropping minutes. And that's what makes these reactions so much fun for old-timers like myself. We get to experience that magic one more time through the eyes and ears of you young bloods. Love it! Another great reaction bros!!
Well said.
@@yeahboiii6640 well said indeed...
That low note that drills into your soul in the solo is unavoidable.
1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond
2. Time
3. Dogs
4. Comfortably Numb
5. Hey You
0. Echoes
That solo is amazing and makes me cry it’s so good
16:09 That’s how I feel every time I listen to this part ! Best band ever
Lmao that thumbnail is everyone the first time they hear this track
PINK FLOYD ES UNA BANDA CREADA EN OTRA GALAXIA!! SU MÚSICA LO HACE A UNO VIAJAR A OTRO UNIVERSO!! 🖤🖤❤️❤️
I had the 8 track in 1978. It never ended, the whole album was on repeat, non stop, never ending. By 1980 I knew all the words to all the songs and have never forgot them. I like Animals very much.
You guys have no idea how many reaction channels there are and to see how many people hearing dogs for the first time is absolutely priceless
The story of my life, and it still holds unnervingly true now that I'm retiring, packing up and flying down south to hide my head in the sand and die alone of cancer. How Roger Waters could see into his own later years this clearly is extraordinary. Very few young men understand what later life means.
This song is absolutely relevant to life in the good old USA today
Weird how British music from the 70s has so much relevance to modern Americans.
@@joeloates1685 not weird if u have a rudimentary understanding of sociology and psychology and stuff like that
@@walterlippmann6292 I know but it seems some of the best musicians that are constantly used to describe American society are always British.
Definitely Australia right now 😢😢
Everybody says that Dark Side or The Wall are the masterpieces, and they are, but to me Animals sits atop both.
Sheep is the most melodic track, with a wonderful finale to the song, fantastic!
I’ve listened to this song literally at least 500 times in my life.
YES! Animals is one of my two favorite Prog Albums of all time. So glad you guys get around to that masterpiece. Next, you gotta do Pigs!
Each song is a life lesson... don’t be like these people... glad you guys enjoyed!
Especially Sheep.
Or be dragged down by the stone
Stone
Stone
By this song alone, Pink Floyd should be judged... In my humble opinion, Animals is the absolute distillation of their catalog... Perfection.
Animals is a masterpiece. Since it came out and to this day it is one of the albums I still enjoy beginning to end, it never gets old.
Dudes! Now you gotta do Pigs and Sheep ... But for me, Dogs is by far the best song of Animals
My Top Ten PF Albums are:
1. DSOTM
2. WYWH
3. Animals
4. The Wall
5. Meddle
You rock, Guys!
Delicate Sound of Thunder
Dogs is the businessman always on the prowl taking down their next victim. Nick's drumming on this album is underrated
Pigs are businessmen, the dogs represent their military/police. At least in the related book Animal Farm
Glad you guys got to this masterpiece. The album Animals is an examination of Orwell's Animal Farm, this song is about the ruthless nature of Businessmen within a capitalist society. I Highly recommend the song Sheep from the same album, about the proletariat, or Pigs which is about politicians/power brokers in society.
Animal Farm is the place where this world is going - a socialist society where you own nothing and be happy. Stupid and happy.
@@antisoviet6786 There is almost no support anywhere in the western world for full blown socialism. Pretty easy to google that.
@@FreddieFoxxx100 Thank you, but I'm fully aware whats going on in U.S.
@@antisoviet6786 Don't talk about something you know nothing about! Stop listening to the pigs talking points...Just makes you look...stupid!😵
@@antisoviet6786 No, clearly you aren't. Asked about their impression of socialism, 28% of adults said they have a favorable view, while 58% said they had an unfavorable one. NPR Poll. Socialism, not even communism which is even less popular.
There is no question that through history loads of fantastic music has been made. But every time I hear Pink Floyd it reminds me that if I could only hear ONE band the rest of my life this would be it. No question about it.
You're just gonna have to face it eventually... Animals is the greatest album ever recorded!! Facts...
This song is a master piece, this song is everything..... Pink Floyd is from another world...
I love Animals more than Dark Side and Wish You Were Here combined, if I'm straight up with you.
I love Animals album as well, but don't think it's quite as good as Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here. Those two l would call a masterpiece, Animals for me just falls short!
I put Animals right after Dark Side, on par with The Wall and ahead WYWH.
@@keithjones6023 I respectfully disagree whole-heartedly.
@@j.j.4150 It would be a boring old world if everybody agreed with each other, who's to say Dark Side is better than Animals. I say yes, you say no, in the great scheme of things who really cares? 🤔 Anyway l think we can agree on one thing, Pink Floyd are one of the best bands ever!
@@keithjones6023 I totally agree. I'm glad there are multiple opinions on the subjects we love. Makes discussions way more interesting.
I think the Bros liked it! It is a powerful piece. The whole album is a powerful piece of work. I love the final line "Have a good drown, as you go down, all alone. Dragged down by the stone." It hurts! Pure Painful Poetry! By the way did you know that the inflatable pig seen on the album cover floated away? Good work. Keep Reacting!
When you discover PF you never know what to expect for next seconds.
Very real reaction to a masterpiece - Animals is a fantastic Floyd album, and Dogs is otherworldly.
All Pink Floyd's tracks are masterpieces
Pink Floyd at their imperious best dudes, they always amaze me someone asked me what my favourite Pink Floyd song was and the only answer I could give was the one I last listened to as every time I listen to a Pink Floyd song no matter how many times I've heard it, it becomes my favourite until the nest song 😁
A true masterpiece!
Animals is my favourite pink floyd album....
I've heard it played in its entirety LIVE....SOOOOOOOOO GOOD
Best Pink Floyd guitar solo(s) in this song. Can't listen to this album in the car though, too easy to zone out.
You two get it....I been a floyd fan for 42 years...and I love watching people discover and really enjoy Pink Floyd. Keep up the awesome reactions, guys.
I had 13 years when i listen this, my heart and brain exploted. Im 46 now, pink floyd is may north an south, east and west
One of the best guitarwork ever.

Best from the album...!!!

I think this is the best song ever made
Bwahahaha ! This band never fails! They never cease to amaze...😘
That transition at 15:52 is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. It blew my mind as well the first time I heard it!
This album is probably in every serious Floyd fan’s top three.
GENIOS!, temazo de PINK FLOYD!!
This song is one of the greatest songs ever.
one of the absolute greatest concept albums ever made....my personal favorite Floyd work....needs to be listened to in order from begining to end.
Thank you for going back to Pink Floyd 2.0. There are three incarnations of Pink Floyd:
1. Barrett PF = 1.0,
2. Waters/Gilmour = 2.0, and
3. Gilmour = 3.0
Every masterpiece story has 3 Acts and Pink Floyd is no exception. Personally, I find the lyrics to this song and the accompanying music is easily the Best of PF2.0... Gilmours & Waters voices, the lyrics, the Synth is just sick, Nick's precise, yet ever so deft, drum work are a Master Class in what beautiful music IS.
I love watching everyone breathing in Pink Floyd; but, you two are a pure joy to watch and listen to as Pink Floyd seeps into every molecule in your bodies... You have so much further to go young Padawans.
You need to listen to the whole album, Sheep and Pigs are just a smidgen behind Dogs. You need to explore "The Final Cut" any of these following songs are anazing:
1. The Post War Dream (Waters)
2. The Fletcher Memorial Home (Waters)
3. The Final Cut (Waters)
4. Not Now John (Gilmour)
5. Two Suns in the Sunset (Waters)
Thank you for making this 52 year old relive his life altering dive into Pink Floyd...
Hey guys! This album is based on the book Animal Farm. All the animals are different professionals of the society. Roger water’s finest piece of writing is what I consider this
Have you heard 'amused to death' ? It's a fantastic Waters solo album

Pink Floyd will always be played, genius ❤️
And yet ANOTHER song from the 70'S.

Guys, I'm glad you discovered PINK FLOYD. At sixteen I already ate bread and Pink floyd now I'm 53 and when I listen to them I still get the crossroads. Good music to you
I agree Pink Floyd, new classic music!
Pink Floyd should be the eighth wonder of the world and be a world heritage site.
Thank you. Finally i do not feel like an idiot. I loved dark side a wish but animals is the best out of em all
4 musical geniuses at there very best
So nice to know that there still is people who are listening to this. It blew my mind out 40 years ago sometimes close to madness
Fantástic
All about a dogs survival and unconditional love.
This album is a true masterpiece. The song structures, the lyrics, the production, the artwork. Everything about it is incredible. Waaaaaay ahead of its time. There’s no way the member of Floyd are human. These guys are from some different kind of realm to write stuff like this. And the fact that they have so many incredible albums and each have such a unique sound and feeling behind them. Unbelievable what they have created. You can’t even pick a favourite because it’s impossible to as they are so different from each other. I go through phases where sometimes I’ll be hooked on animals, or the wall, or dsotm, or meddle, etc. For sometimes months to years even. it’s like going through revolving doors of epic ness. There’s a lot of great bands out there, but these guys are on a level on their own 100%.
Great reaction, you guys are fun to watch.
Finally, you have embarked on the album that represents society and class structure:
ANIMALS
You will NEVER see LIFE the same way again. I had similar reactions like you did brothers..

I think my mind is a bit blown actually! Just wanted to say I've always liked Pink Floyd but probably haven't listened to them as much as I should have liked in the past few years. Since subscribing to your channel however, you have really rekindled my interest in this remarkable band and it's been great watching and listening to all your reactions to their amazing songs. I know that Pink Floyd is your most favourite band, George and I've so enjoyed catching up with them again.
