Your rapping and singing are phenomenal Mike. You can hear how Chesters singing voice influenced Mikes singing voice on this track. Chesters spirit is all over this album my friend. We love and support you Mike!
Vernon Salisbury I thought I was the only one who felt Chester's influence in this track. The melody hit it right where Mike wanted it to hit and neither of us are disappointed.
You can see in LPTV episodes how Mike often directed Chester's vocals in the demo/recording process. We're now hearing Mike attempt to render it himself instead of getting someone else to sing it. I notice it really clearly in the Boris sock puppets in the other video - he makes the 'mouth' do these big open wide gestures for 'belted' lines that in reality he just sings in a slightly different key, in an understated way, but you can imagine how Chester would belt them if Mike were directing him.
Erik Jensen I think Mike has likely written many bad songs. But then he rewrites them over and over until they are great songs. Greatness isn't something that falls from the sky for the fortunate to catch. It is chiseled and carved from solid rock by those who see the greatness inside.
Gaming With Ryan Lyrics weren’t bad on that at all, he was explaining how he tried going places but people won’t leave him the fk alone about Chesters death asking stupid ass questions or the same question over and over!! He wrote the album at different times all while coping with the death of one of his best friends and co workers!!!
This energy and spirit is the reason why Linkin Park was/is my most favorite band, and now Mike Shinoda my most favorite singer in the world (besides Chester, forever) Damn... i feel so much clearer, calmer and more emotional than before
Very very true. Couldnt have said it any better, you just cant compare linkin park to other banda because lp is just sooo deep, with them i started learning english, they are the reason i like rock, i used to put headphones on my moms tummy lol when she was pregnant with my little sister (she is now 16) she has been literally listening to lp all her life, and just like me and u she agrees chester forever and mike is just awesome, his lyrics his voice....just deep, emotional and just awesome
no, YOU couldn't even say it better, that's totally the same feeling in another way i feel Linkin Park got me through very bad times over my life (like 7 or 8 years, and i am 20 xD) Mike is another part of linkin park and in a strange view another part of my life; Chester is dead, so my past, and that's why mike sing for my present and future now and that is something which makes me happy in a very own special way ^~^
Adrionik13 amen to that my bro...btw..im just 16..linkin park has also helped me through my tough times...now that chester is gone mike's music has filled the void which chesters death had left
Well said, I agree ! Last night, I went to see Mike in concert and he was awesome! His talent, his energy on stage, his authentic smile, he was having fun and he was so nice! ❣️
They should all come back together for this one, it's classic LP, and life just has to go on for them all, heartbreaking as it will always be. Suicide breaks everyone 😢
Sue Condon *blinks* I thought it was all in my head. I seriously heard Chester in this. Hate making comparisons. Especially when one is trying to move forward. Mike has that in him he just needs to know it. I feel he is just starting to tap into that part he never knew was there.
This is a time when we all need to come together as a fan base, and as human beings mourning the loss of a beautiful human who couldn't see any hope left 😢😢😓😔😔✊
We love Mike,Chester.and whole family, and I will always miss Chazzy♥ Mike is making him so mother fkin proud, every track is so different. Has it's own story and absolute no genre sounds. Supporting him and each other we make him proud n sing along !!
Damn. This album is amazing! Realize that Mike did all the artwork, production and songwriting by him self! A true artist who is capable to keep the balance between Hip Hop, Pop and Alternative on this amazing piece of work. Been a fan for 10 years straight and still going.
this song truly displays how good of a singer Mike is. Surely his range isn't that wide but he maximizes his vocal abilities well. I'm proud of him for stepping it up with each album he releases whether it'd be with LP, FM, or by himself. I believe that Chester really pushed him to be better or to even try singing on some of their songs and now, he's grown so much confidence in his singing. Absolutely love this song and it's my favorite off of PT.
Now that's what's called true devotion.....you don't just leave your band alone if someone important ( chester) is absent.... You try to fill his place....make the band shine brighter....that's how you respect the great and in the process... Become great yourself.... #respectformike
just started listening to mike shinoda, and i'm like "thats a good song" than the next song "thats a good song" than the next one "thats a good song" and when i typed this i was like "mhmm wow most of his songs are really good, how are they not hits or something?"
Gaming With Ryan in my opinion. If you don't agree that's fine. But there isn't one lp album that I think is better than post traumatic, and I love every lp album
It hurts me so much and I feel an empty void inside because it feels like Chesters voice should be on this, but it is missing. So I just think of his voice while listening and pretending that it's there
It's a fact we can't keep up most of our promises we can just try to but life playes it's dice pretty well now i feel disappointed and this song heals me but rember i did do everything i could
Along with Ghosts, this is my favorite. I don't even know what genre are your music's, but that doesn't matter because like Linkin Park, it was not a pop, nu metal or any other kind of band for me. It was THE band, my favorite one that i stil love, and that's what matter. I am a big fan of Linkin Park and your fan too, so thank you for keep doing this amazing job in music, Mike.
I cant believe it's already been 2 years since this came out, seems like yesterday I was frozen in shock about Chester. I'm just glad mike fought on and is still doing his thing even if it's a bit different from in the past
Anyone else get major A Thousand Suns vibes from this song? I can literally hear Chester on the chorus, and the sonic elements and that synth bridge are soo ATS.
I used to think that I knew who I was Never saw it coming unglued I used to think that I knew who I was Now it’s time to see if it’s true ……………. True words, Mike :(
One of my favorite songs in Post Traumatic album. Thank you very much Mike for the sentimental effort that you have made producing and recording this album. Each chord, each effect, each word, is a memory and a scream to break the chains that bind you to those memories, to Chester and what his loss meant to you and to all of us. Step by step Mike. This album is a great leap and each song a heartbeat to all of us. All my strength and courage to you Mike. We are all by your side.
this song is more relatable than most songs. back then I thought I knew who I was or what I wanted in life, but you'll have to break yourself down in order to truly see what you are made of I was certain from my decisions that I was right but my decisions were wrong, you can never be right until you know what you did wrong.
Thank you for continuing to be the soundtrack of our lives, despite the hardships. We love you brother! Your music is a must in this world of darkness.
There's a top notch feeling to Mike latest releases that tells me he's gonna stick around for a long time in the biz. The more, the merrier. Couldn't love them anymore. 💕💕
That mantle of LP and Chester is still very much alive. You are an amazing artist and the pain and growth is very clear in all your releases. Keep doing you.
I'm stuck in a loop with this one...........it's hitting home every single time....it's so magical...the line especially "And I've tried but it never was up to me". That voice work. Mike, you are the best. I am glad I saw you alive.
It takes a lot of guts to do what Mike is doing and I admire him continuing to do what he loves. People can give me as much sh*t as they want but Mike always has been and always will be my favorite artist.
Idc idc Mike shinoda is S tier artist his music is so good and impactful and I absolutely love how he messes around the instrumentals and keeps it spicy and different. I love this man and his music
I just love your simple majestic voice man. So much emotion in your voice! I guess this is the closest to getting a Fort Minor sequel album but I'm ok with that. Brilliant stuff.
By far my favourite track on the Album.... The emotion is very raw in the lyrics, it's something I can relate to. "I used to think that I know what I want never saw it coming unglued I used to think that I know what I want now it's time to see if it's true I had so much certainty 'Til that moment I lost control"
This is so beautiful! I'm speechless seriously Mike's vocals and Chester's vocals are, were and forever will be in sync. But I am so proud of Mike, he will succeed in every way at the end.
Best songs from the album in my opinion: Watching as I fall, nothing makes sense anymore, this song, lift off, running from my shadow, and can’t hear you now But all of them are good.
"I used to think that I know what I want Never saw it coming unglued I used to think that I know what I want Now it's time to see if it's true". That's real music. That's Udit Narayan!
I love this! Also, this one has probably the most LP'ish vibe from the album. (Not counting Running from my shadow, because that only has the structure)
Mike you're great, I didn't recognise the singer in you earlier, you were more of a rapper to me but now I realise that you are soul of the band that is keeping the band alive.... And yeah you're killing it
Listened to you guys on the radio back in my college days, never did buy many albums in general. This stuff is awesome though. You just might have something going for you.
Every single song on the album is amazing. Listening through the first couple times, I couldn't decide which was my favorite. But I keep coming back to this song, it's so heartbreaking and haunting.
Who else is so happy that Post Traumatic is finally released 😊😊😊
Me!!!
IamWhoIAm MeantToBe MEEEEEEEE
MEEE
Me! 🖤
THE NATION Seriously don't beg and lie 🙄 If you want us to watch your video, sure okay but as if anyone would believe that.
this highkey reminds me of 'i'll be gone' which makes it 10000x times nostalgic and emotional
same nostalgic feeling when first listened to 'World's on fire'. the first verse reminded me to "Until It Breaks" when Brad's singing
stumpclub I was looking for this comment haha
Your rapping and singing are phenomenal Mike. You can hear how Chesters singing voice influenced Mikes singing voice on this track. Chesters spirit is all over this album my friend. We love and support you Mike!
Vernon Salisbury

Lucy Blades
I see it now. Nice observation tho. 😯
I came here to comment this, but then you already said it!
Vernon Salisbury actually Mike was helping Chester out on how he should sing some of his songs so yeah I also I caught that observation
Do you ever make a bad song?... every song on this album is hitting the feels rn... thanks pal... much respect...
Erik Jensen I think Mike has likely written many bad songs. But then he rewrites them over and over until they are great songs.
Greatness isn't something that falls from the sky for the fortunate to catch. It is chiseled and carved from solid rock by those who see the greatness inside.

Definitely a Living Things vibe with this one. Love it.
Reminds me of Burn It Down in some parts
weedwak reminds me of Lost In The Echo
Reminds me of Burning In The Skies + Lost In The Echo + I'll Be Gone. SO many ATS and LT vibes in this one. Definitely my favorite
Good goodbye mixed intro by the way :)
Exactly
That voice! This must be the most melodic version of Mike's voice ever featured in a song. I fell in love with it, wow
This album deserves an award!
Nithyapriya Rajkumar I was thinking the same!!!!
IKR
The intro sounds like a LPU song. Like something from 2012- 2014. I love it.
More like a song from the LIVING THINGS album
Blobfish Productions Absolutely x
That's what I noticed too imediatly, but I think the whole song has that vibe. It's so awesome! :O
Is it only me, I hear Good Goodbye intro?
the intro reminded me of "A Light that Never Comes" but the Chester Lives version
"I use to think that I knew who I was, now it's time to see if it's true" Words are gold in your hands, Mike.
I’m so sad Today I lost my grandfather and Mike Shinoda Sir, your songs helppppppppp me...... they save meeee.... You’re are a real hero.... RESPECT
This energy and spirit is the reason why Linkin Park was/is my most favorite band, and now Mike Shinoda my most favorite singer in the world (besides Chester, forever)
Damn... i feel so much clearer, calmer and more emotional than before

Linkin Park got me through very bad times over my life (like 7 or 8 years, and i am 20 xD)

Sorry LP is dead forevee #RIPLINKINPARK(1996-2017) gone forever but never forgotten
I never thought Post Traumatic would turn out to be so 🔥🔥👌 Mike’s killing it!
DH Shawon he doesnt do anything half-assed man
The instrumental really reminds me of "I'll Be Gone" from Linkin Park's 'Living Things' album. Anybody else agree or is just me?
Aamir Syed it’s like a mixture of Good Goodbye and Powerless for me
Fernando Carrillo yes very much sounds really familiar which gives me goosebumps
Yes I can here to
I got a robot boy vibe towards the end
I hear Powerless, I'll be gone and Burning in the skies :)
Do you ever hear a song so good you can't wrap your head around the fact that song is real?
Instant love ❤💔 I can hear Chester in this, it's so LP. LOVE this, thank you Mike xx
Sue Condon same.i also heard Chester for some reason.whoahh
They should all come back together for this one, it's classic LP, and life just has to go on for them all, heartbreaking as it will always be. Suicide breaks everyone 😢

Mike Genioda
Yeahhh! Ele é um *génio*
Mike, you're doing it! THIS is what your fans NEED! You have no idea how important it is that you're producing this music.
true
@@leenaylor3478 Definitely true, is important
No i want him to RAP, I want him to go lit 🔥🔥
It hurts me so much and I feel an empty void inside because it feels like Chesters voice should be on this, but it is missing. So I just think of his voice while listening and pretending that it's there
YAS MIKE PROUD OF U
It's a fact we can't keep up most of our promises we can just try to but life playes it's dice pretty well now i feel disappointed and this song heals me but rember i did do everything i could
This is the soul of chester speaking through mike's voice 💔
Forgive us chester we let you down til' you gave up 💔
Along with Ghosts, this is my favorite.
This hits hard to home because there are a lot of promises I know that I cant keep and that i dont keep.
Mike just loves this chord progression....
This album has been helping me process the worst truth I've recieved. So, thank you for sharing these raw feelings with us all.
Couldn’t wait any longer for your album to come out! It’s great! Haven’t heard something this beautiful in years!
giving me lp vibes
I cant believe it's already been 2 years since this came out, seems like yesterday I was frozen in shock about Chester. I'm just glad mike fought on and is still doing his thing even if it's a bit different from in the past
Hell yeah let’s go mike!!!!
The instrumental for this track sound like a mix between About You, Crossing a Line and Nothing Makes Sense Anymore
"Eu não tenho pior inimigo
do que o medo do que ainda é desconhecido" entendemos você Mike.
Anyone else get major A Thousand Suns vibes from this song? I can literally hear Chester on the chorus, and the sonic elements and that synth bridge are soo ATS.
I used to think that I knew who I was
Never saw it coming unglued
I used to think that I knew who I was
Now it’s time to see if it’s true …………….
My japanese guy is killin' it. 💕💕
lol details XD
this song is more relatable than most songs.
back then I thought I knew who I was or what I wanted in life, but you'll have to break yourself down in order to truly see what you are made of
I was certain from my decisions that I was right but my decisions were wrong, you can never be right until you know what you did wrong.
awesome , you need to make a dope video like old days .
So good no video is needed!
Jaxon C. Videos are needed to reach wider range of audience .
Binna chester video sohni ni bannani ...... Kalla audio vadiya ah
Jaspreet Singh he probably isn't looking for a wider audience
You need to start using your imagination. Lay off Mike.
Yesssss!!!!! Can't wait for tomorrow!!! Freaking good album
Lyrics of post traumatic is just beauty.. listening to this album on loop and nothing else feels better😭♥️ you're the best mike♥️ lots of love💯
Living Things Vibes!!!
That mantle of LP and Chester is still very much alive. You are an amazing artist and the pain and growth is very clear in all your releases. Keep doing you.
"I had so much certainty, till that moment I lost control"
I'm stuck in a loop with this one...........it's hitting home every single time....it's so magical...the line especially "And I've tried but it never was up to me". That voice work. Mike, you are the best. I am glad I saw you alive.

The highlight of my day always.
Luo Xiang Same. Especially since I’ve been sick. 🤮
I just love your simple majestic voice man. So much emotion in your voice! I guess this is the closest to getting a Fort Minor sequel album but I'm ok with that. Brilliant stuff.
Love this song! Mikes lyrics are raw and real, reminds me of Chester and him jamming out sick lyrics with all of LP!
THANK YOU MIKE FOR THIS
By far my favourite track on the Album.... The emotion is very raw in the lyrics, it's something I can relate to. "I used to think that I know what I want never saw it coming unglued
I used to think that I know what I want now it's time to see if it's true

This album is fucking good and well produced! Mike could go beyond our expectations that were already high! Holy shit!
Mike. You are killing it man. Please don't stop. We love your music man! Thanks so much for putting it out.
Mike how do you still find things to rap about you are great man!
This is so beautiful! I'm speechless seriously Mike's vocals and Chester's vocals are, were and forever will be in sync. But I am so proud of Mike, he will succeed in every way at the end.
This sounds so much like LP. I live it!

this song gives me chills
Little things give you away.
@Mike Shinoda Gonna support you through all your adventures, ups and downs. We as fans gotchu brother!
Best songs from the album in my opinion:
Watching as I fall, nothing makes sense anymore, this song, lift off, running from my shadow, and can’t hear you now
But all of them are good.
This new album is pretty damn good imo
"I used to think that I know what I want
Never saw it coming unglued
I used to think that I know what I want
Now it's time to see if it's true".
That's real music. That's Udit Narayan!
Love you Shinoda. Everyone SHOULD concentrate on Your Voice anyway
Some real old school LP vibes on this one. INSANE!
I heard Chester too. It's probably Mike channeling him through his amazing talent almost like he approves what Mike is doing.
Bittersweet album, I love it but every single song makes tears running down my cheeks. Stay strong Mike, we're all here for you #MakeChesterProud
I would listen to it as I still gutted for the lost of Chester but tonight I have listened and it's a wonderful album thank you Mike ❤️
Mike has Poured his heart into this album. He has Made Chester Proud.❤️
THIS ONE IS MY FAVOURITE 😭
I love this! Also, this one has probably the most LP'ish vibe from the album. (Not counting Running from my shadow, because that only has the structure)
Mike you're great, I didn't recognise the singer in you earlier, you were more of a rapper to me but now I realise that you are soul of the band that is keeping the band alive.... And yeah you're killing it
Listened to you guys on the radio back in my college days, never did buy many albums in general. This stuff is awesome though. You just might have something going for you.
Absolutely amazing, your voice is shining Mike! Chester will be so proud of you
I still can't believe this album speaks so much for me.
#CometoBrazil Mike Congratulations Best álbum

Every single song on the album is amazing. Listening through the first couple times, I couldn't decide which was my favorite. But I keep coming back to this song, it's so heartbreaking and haunting.
