Thank you.. much more effective than other techniques I have tried to avoid underarm holes ( and easier to remember!)
I was trying to explain to a knitting friend why your videos are so useful, and this one is a good example. You have a great skill at isolating a small topic, at showing different ways to approach it, and at breaking down and demonstrating every part of it so that nothing is assumed or left to chance. This gives me the basis for learning to knit and to understand what I'm doing, then to get creative with it. Your approach is the opposite of "my way is the only way", and you are teaching so much more than just how to decode a pattern. I'm still in the early stages of learning to knit but I know I can rely on your videos to provide guidance and answers when I need them. I've already grown the confidence to create a couple of simple items to my own patterns, and your videos have given me the encouragement to look further at what I can work towards creating. A big thank you for a great channel.
Oooh, thank you so much, Dev! I wholeheartedly agree - any task is much easier when we break it into manageable steps, and I'm absolutely thrilled that you find this approach helpful. Happy knitting, my friend :-)
Great technique! Thanks for sharing!🌸
You are very welcome, Thea. Thank you so much for following my work and a huge thank you for the kind words :-)
You’re very welcome Maryna! You are a wonderful teacher and I appreciate you!🌸🌺
You are brilliant!
Oooh, thank you so much, Sally :-)
I just did a sock gusset yesterday~a day late. But now I know,,and I have lots of socks and fingerless gloves lined up for Christmas gifts~!! Thank you !! I'll try this very soon🙂🧶🥢
Oh! But I'm knitting a sweater right now too,,going to try it at the armpit when I start the sleeves~!! Yay.
That's a great idea, Vivienne. This little trick can be helpful in many different projects. Happy knitting :-)
@@10rowsaday Thank you so much for all your videos, they've helped me a lot!
Brilliant, thank you!
Thanks. Your tutorials always helpful and easy to follow ! This is perfect for my socks and for knitting under the arms of my sweaters. 🙂
Thanks, Marina! I’m working on mittens right now. I’ll certainly use this tip.
So simple, why didn't I know this? :) Thank you Maryna. x
Perfect timing! I will be using this move tonight.
Me too. I have been crossing stitches, but more like a cable. Not inside each other.
Crossing stitches like a cable is another great way to battle those holes. Thank you for a clever suggestion!
@@10rowsaday so I tried your method, but didn't trust it on a small sweater for a Ken doll so ended up pulling a loop thru from the back side of the tube also. There were multiple distractions this afternoon. But I did finally get the tubular bind off done without having to refer back to the videos!!!
@@10rowsaday so I've been crossing a sleeve stitch n a body stitch. You think I should cross the front n back body stitch instead?
I love your tutorials can you do one on picking up underarms stitches
Thank you for the suggestion, Jacky :-)
Brilliant! Thank you.
A question: it looked like the left cross was less noticeable than the right one. Just wondering if it was just me? It really doesn’t matter both crosses worked very nicely! My next sweater, this cross will be used for the underarms!
To me, both ways to cross stitches look about the same. But if you like the one crossed to the left, by all means, use this way to prevent holes in your next sweater :-) Happy knitting!
Thank you so much just learning hoe to knit socks and this was so so helpful
Awww! So cool. Thank you so much.
Will it close the underarm of a bottom up sweater? I don't bind off any stitches of body or sleeves
She said it will at the beginning of this tutorial. Either too down or bottom up. Yay! We can do this!.
Thank you, Brenda, for clarifying this little issue :-)
Yes, you can use this method to prevent holes in a bottom-up sweater. In fact, we used it when we divided stitches of the front from the stitches of the back in the second part of the Everyday Tee knit-along (you can watch it at ruclips.net/video/2yp83jcNYqo/видео.html ) Happy knitting :-)
