Bc you gave a very fair and constructive review without being insulting and improvements on the food, room and hotel activities would take it to the next level. Puerto plata has a lot of potential! We stayed at the resort last April and it's definitely not a 5 star. The property is breathtaking and that plus the staff are the pro's. We stayed in one of the luxury rooms and it was such a disappointment. ( we also paid over $4000 for our one week stay travelling from Canada ) There was black mold on the curtains, no hot water and the air conditioning did not work. We moved rooms and again we were faced with the same issues. We are pretty easy going people but at this price point I was unhappy. We decided to make the best of it. I agree with you on the food , again a disappointment. Mostly because the last time I was in Puerto Plata the food was amazing! I enjoyed your review.
My trip was amazing such a beautiful fun place and the fact you get full access to the other resort right beside to senator is also amazing well worth the trip you guys will enjoy .just watch out for the people selling you stuff around the resort is all .
@adamdalglish8545 thanks. I have been to Dominican a few times so I am used to the locals trying to sell stuff. Some polite and others pushy and annoying. I have no problem turning them away

you are in my town today. this is where tourism started in DR. supposedly that area is being redeveloped. It,s going to be great wnen they build the road trough the mountains that will connect Santiago and Puerto Plata in 30 minutes. it will be beneficial to both cities. Central Cibao (Santiago, Moca La vega) will have an accessible beach
I understand why most people choose Punta Cana when they're looking for a genuine 5-star experience. I agree with everything you said in your final thoughts.
I spent 4 weeks in the resort last year, it was nice but definitely not a 5 stars hotel, the food was average except the el la carte restaurants which were good. The internet was good and the beach was beautiful. I did enjoy my stay there. If I was the management I would pay attention to food.

I think the snack bar in the playa bachata open from 4 to 6 i think. Thats the one next to the pool..i always go to playa bachata and this year will be going to senator.

You said the plugs don’t fix how did you charge your phone and electronics? Also if you stay here for all inclusive you have access to the playabachata one as well? Do you have access to their Buffet and restaurants ?
For the plugs, I got an adaptar from the reception. Yes, booking in Senator gives you full acess to playabachata, including pool, buffet and restaurants
I really appreciate seeing this video I actually stayed at VH Gran Ventana and while I had a good experience I’ve thought about other resorts in Puerto Plata what resorts would you reccomend in Punta Cana for say my fiancée and I coming from Canada that isn’t an arm and a leg expensive
I only saw them in pictures and they looked really nice, but the hotel overall would still be a 4 in my eyes because of the food and the other things I talked about

For the most part, yes it is. The shower/tub I had in my room had a very high wall though, that part might be difficult for someone in the wheelchair to use. But maybe the new remodeled rooms have walk in showers...not sure though

We stayed on the cheaper side an would never return had the worst vacation ever staff were useless there was just nothing to do so I would never recommend either sides of this to anyone
Your in my favorite / san Felipe Puerta plata. Go to teleferico , and have ice cream at mariposa. Show the Puerta plata sign near the new cruise ship port. Government fix it up. 🚢🛳️. Bless up, enjoy your stay.
