Just listened to the podcast and this was an amazing interview! Rob Swift is a legend and such a cool dude. Thank you for having guys like him and El Da Sensai on the show to tell their stories. much love and respect!
Man this was a dope ass interview. I love that Rob doesn’t just answer the questions, but rewinds to provide the full context leading up to the answer. The journey is the most important part!! 👏🏼💪🏼
Peace to Rob Swift🙏🎼 I remember auditioning to be in the X Men at Raidas apartment in Harlem. My friend BINK from Southside Queens🙏took me. I did my dj set with Rob Swift, Sean C, Johnny Cash watching with Roc Raida as well. I was nervous but I did just enough for Raida to ask me if I wanted to be down with the X Men. I told him that I want to but I am really focused more on making beats. He understood and we remained friends.👌🎼
Truly Inspiring. I picked up X-Men in X-ercise back in 1996. It totally changed my outlook on turntablism. Thank you, Rob, for the years of inspiration in the DJ game. Thanks, Pete and Ciph, for making this podcast happen. Legendary stories that needed to be told.
As a Fan of HipHop, TTM/ DJ Culture I just LOVE every minute of this. Thanks to urbody involved with this. I remember seeing it`s going down in MTV germany just about the same time I got my first turntable. A part 2 would be dope, get A-Trak in there two. ONE LOVE
Great interview. There is so much I didn't know about him. You didn't even get to his ESPN gig and it came up multiple times. I need to hear how that gig came together. Juan Ep does it again.
Fantastic interview! The Rick Rubin story adds weight to the theory that Rick copied the X-Ecutioners style for “99 Problems” w/Jay-Z. Rick was a huge fan of the X-Men. Now go listen to “Let It Bang” and check the similarities
I remember vmb and that battle with steve d and franchesco and plastic man etc..i remember jeff foss (r.i.p) show and wildman steve..great time in hip hop...thats around rhe time i started djing..like 89 90...p.s my boy used to go to butchers crib
@@djrobswift this was a great interview. That Rick Rubin story was incredible. I'm really on social media anymore but I still do my thing and now I just got into making beats at 42 years old. Thank you for the constant and consistent inspiration Rob. Respect 👑

Yo @rosenbergradio that was a 🗑️ move removing the old juaneps from the other channel. I was enjoying the nostalgia. You keep on getting in your own way🤦. Not everything has to be a business move. Btw, if some random person can post all of those complete episodes, why don't you? We wanna reminisce 🗣️
Dear fellow scratch enthusiasts. Remember - and make no mistake: Do not listen to a single word rob is saying, at least on the topic of the newer generation djs. I challenge all of you to confront him with his own lies as as often as you can. Don’t ever let anyone, even if it’s a beginning rookie dj, an X-ecutioner, Skratch Pikl, big EDM pop dj, or Walk Of Fame Celeb dj, tell you what you should or should not do in djing. Follow your own inspiration, but don’t get lost in admiration. Create your own path, sound and style. Be creative with everything that is in you to make or play sound with, using the tools that are available now. If you need to make edits, make killer edits. If you need to make a live set, create a killer live set, as if it’s the last thing you’ll ever do. Lastly: THERE ARE NO RULES IN ART. Swiffer has imprisoned himself in his own rules, making him an inmate of his own mind, with a life sentence. Brandon Ragoza knows. DJ Traps knows. You all know. Peace 💙
Rob Swift is one of the greatest DJ's to touch the turntables.
