Imam Abu Haneefah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Allah has a Hand, a Countenance and an Essence as He, may He be exalted, mentioned in the Qur’an. Whatever Allah, may He be exalted, has mentioned in the Qur’an of His having a Countenance, Hand and Essence, these are attributes of His which we affirm without discussing how. "Making yourself loveable"? Because if you stop them from haram/harm, they'll hate you. You become "hate-able". If you let them do harmful/haramful things, you'll be more loveable. Or, is it better to be loved by remaining silent in front of falsehoods and munkar.
@micdeymearstienbeiger37 I don't think Shaykh meant being loveable in the context where you bypass the wrongs of your child/spouse... think of it in the righteous sense.
