Little tip for anyone that doesn’t know and wants to use the muff, people normally complain that as soon as they turn a muff pedal on then they get hidden in the mix. That’s due to the eq scooping the mids quite heavily in some settings. A trick to get yourself heard is to put a pedal with more mids just after it. The Klon Klone mentioned here would work great for that 👍
That’s an interesting one. Billy basically had a guitar that was half broken, and whenever it was muted, it emitted this weird harmonic sound that you hear in the mayonnaise recording. Unfortunately I don’t believe there is a tone available to replicate that. You just have to have that particular guitar.
Frankly, I think what needs a serious upgrade in iOS is that guitar instrument. The guitar that they give us with iPhone Garage Band is great... BUT... it's really outdated when it comes to features. They did a decent job of modelling different guitar types with it, but they left out a couple features of guitar playing that's essential in my opinion. Palm muting, and harmonics. It would be nice to see them figure out a way to do that. It's another sign, I think, that when it comes to their music software, Apple isn't interested in rock music, and just design their stuff to be used for a very limited range of music styles (Pop, and Dance, Hip Hop, Chill, and Club music). Garageband is very narrow focused when it comes to this and you have to do a lot of extra stuff, and workarounds to do other stuff with it. I do like that you can plug your guitar or other instruments in and record. But it would be nice if the app had something that you could work with on the go without having to buy extra more expensive apps, or hefting around the real instruments. But hey. Garageband is free. So I'm not going to take much offense at this. I can just dream.
very good report yours friend, you deserve the coffee! I just keep looking for which one is the best for my acoustic jazz and bossanova recordings... what do you recommend? Thank you very much again and good luck!
Silly question but do these apps work with a real guitar plugged into an interface, or can virtual instruments be used? I noticed the guitar track displayed as midi, not audio.
As a U.S. Southern Bible Belt Yank with legit Scottish genetic ancestry? Your accent has had me grinning every time I have had the pleasure of visiting the channel my man! What brings me here now? Besides a steep snifter of brandy? HaHa! Well... My GF just got herself a new iPhone 14 Pro Max (I'm still on a XR 🙄 LMAO!), due to that her former iPhone 11 had apparently stopped working on calls unless it's on BT or speaker phone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So instead of turning it in? I thought... Well? I might as go ahead and use it with my Orange OMEC Teleport and Mello Audio MidiCommander and DIY myself a tiny guitar rig! Ha! I previously had done so w/ an old iPhone 5 running BiasFX (don't judge!!), but the overall hardware limitations just wasn't up to snuff IMO. This iPhone 11 tho? Let's just say that it is definitely looking far more promising indeed! Ha! Me thinks perhaps after the new release of IK Multimedia's free TONEX iOS app? You should perhaps refurbish this list and give a potential top spot? I've literally just started tinkering with it tonight and it's pretty fookin' epic IMO! Anyway... Love the freakin' channel mate! Cheers! ✌🤟🖖

Amazing - thanks for sharing!
Very useful and well put together video - as always! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Great video! And yes, I AM looking for that Smashing Pumpkins sound! Those harmonics on Mayonaise are sublime.

I don't find the Garageband stock amp sims to be that great so I'm looking forward to trying Tone Deluxe 2.

Good list sir. Can’t argue. :)
Cheers duuuuuuuuuuuude

Hey Patrick... I'm more of an acoustic gal...Do any of these guitar apps or other free apps help enrich an acoustic sound🤔...I never thought to ask...
I think the Nembrini Chorus is free as well :) Blamsoft has a some free plugins as well: Zero Chorus and Zero Reverb :)
@@jeffreybiesiotmusic Thank you! I'll check them out👍🌞
Thank you so much. As a beginner l just don‘t know how to import them to my ipad garageband…😢

@@davidowen3543 yes, they’re all effect apps so can be loaded onto any track type.
