I’m not great with a baitcaster, so I stick to at least 20 pound mono. Almost all the time I can pull it out by clicking the pushbutton and giving it a steady pull. Casting with 2 fingers in front of the trigger grip so my thumb is as far forward on the spool as possible also helps.

Randy I have never had a backlash,I have had plenty of professional overuns lol
My worst always come when I’m trying to pop a stuck jig off of a stump, and I accidentally hit the release with my thumb. I never learn
