By Charles Spurgeon better then alot of preaching today not watered down with lack of conviction but Gods truth and conviction of the Holy Spirit that if you believe in the Son as the scriptures say you have eternal life stop doubting and confess every known sin and have fellowship with Him. Its called repentance🙏

Patrick, Many of us struggle with addiction. You are not alone, and I will pray for your healing.

You struggle because you are living in the flesh. You trust more your flesh (giving to it what it wants) than God. Believe in the promises of God to set you free.
Genuine repentance is key. Let the Holy Spirit convict you of your sin to allow Him to do his work in you. Deep in our mind, many times unconsciously we justify what we do because of the urge we feel. That has to stop. The devil is tricky.

1Jn. 2:12 yes “I write to you, little children, Because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.”
I John 2:12 but 1:9 No! Why? Because you’ve already been forgiven and cleansed. Confess because you have been forgiven and cleansed and walk out in and from who you are in Christ, in and by the righteousness of faith.
If you don’t pray and read your Bible daily and fast you are gonna struggle with sin.
Keep in mind Eph 2:8-10. We are God‘s workmanship in Christ Jesus.

The presenter did not even inquire on what "sin or sins" the person is struggling with. This indicates that the speaker is not aware of what the bible teaches on sin. The bible teaches clearly that those who cannot stop sinning are the slaves to sin.
The fact that you "struggle" with sin is one of the many indicators that the Spirit is working in you. The worse place you can be is still being dead in your sins and not caring that you're sinning. Walking through the narrow gate isn't easy, the life of flesh vs Spirit is a long, grueling battle of sanctification and many want out, which is why only few enter. God never said living the Christian life would be easy, but He did promise that our lives would be fulfilled once we finish the race to receive that Crown of LIFE. Press on, brethren. See you at the finish line. 👑 🙏

Yeah don't give up. But remember if you do and you come back, you're welcomed back by a loving Father. The person writing this left the church, sinned greatly for years and came back into the loving arms of God. A love which I never knew. So don't let Satan convince you that you're damned for eternity, which is what I was hit with for a long time after coming back.

I love Jesus, I struggle with addiction, the guilt and self condemnation are too much sometimes, I do struggle with salvation assurance because of my addiction

I have been an addict for 20 years so I totally get it. Christ loves you and paid for all of your sins on the cross he doesn’t love you less because of your addictions. The flesh is weak. But it may be humbling you so you can be closer to him. I know it really humbles me being An addict
There is a reason why we experience self condemnation. We know that we are trying and keep failing. The guilt is there. Please read Romans 7. If this chapter describes your current estate, you have to become the person in Romans chapter 8. This doubt of are we saved or not calls us to test ourselves if we are in the right faith.
Like someone here has already pointed out, the feeling of condemnation is to help us draw near to God. The Bible in Second Corinthians seven verse ten talks about worldly sorrow and godly sorrow. Worldly sorrow leads to death, it's the kind where you give up on yourself and on God's grace to save you; Godly sorrow on the other hand leads to repentance. Repentance is not just a feeling of remorse, repentance is changing the way you think. Romans twelve verse two says that we are "... transformed by the RENEWING OF OUR MINDS in Christ Jesus." God's word is truth, and it is the truth that sets us free from addiction. Try having a Bible reading plan, study what the Bible has to say about what you're struggling with, or you can study "Self-control" if the Bible doesn't speak directly of what you struggle with. How do you do a Bible study? Search the word you want to study in your Bible app, write down all references. Read each, and write what you see in each, that means you need a notebook for this. First I want you to realize, what is faith or religion. It means there is a higher power, who created all(who is in charge).
I don’t know if you have children, but a parent sets the rules in the house, and the main reason for that is to provide and protect your children.
If you would tell your toddler not to put his finger in the electric socket. It is for his safety. And if he decides to disobey you he can be badly hurt.
Our Father gave us rules in His house. The 10 commandments. And He gave us the reason why:
Deu 5:29 ‘Oh, that they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and to guard all My commands always, so that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
Can you see that? If we don’t do what He says, we move away from under His protection. If you think you know better than Him and want to do it your way, these verses would be the words from our Father:
Rom 9:20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to Elohim? Shall that which is formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?”
Rom 9:21 Does not the potter have authority over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for value and another not for value?
He said in His commands:
Exo 20:7 “You do not bring the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught.
He says very clearly not to bring His Name to naught. Naught would suggest, to bring to nothing.
So if you call Him something else you are not using His Name, you bring it to naught. And if you don’t use His Name you also bring it to naught.
And both these things happened. Our Father warned us man would call Him Ba’al.
Jer 23:27 who try to make My people forget My Name by their dreams which everyone relates to his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My Name for Baʽal.
Christianity calls the Father Lord. In Hebrew Lord means Ba’al. Here is the dictionary meaning for it:
Baal. "The name of many deities of the Semitic peoples" [Klein], late 14c., Biblical use is from Hebrew Ba'al , literally "owner, master, lord," from ba'al "he took possession of," also "he married;" related to Akkadian Belu (source of Hebrew Bel ), name of Marduk. Also related to the first element in Beelzebub.

So by calling the Father Lord, you call Him by the name of another deity, breaking the 1st two commands. And by not calling Him by His Sacred Name, you break the 3rd command.
And because you are a Christian, you do not keep the 7th day Sabbath, you break the 4th command.
A real mess the church brought on to their members. That is why it is important.
You are wrong, thinking that these names you use are translations or even transliterations.
Jesus , has no meaning in Hebrew, For a Name to be translated it must have a meaning.
It is not a transliteration either, for there is no counter part for the letter “J” in Hebrew, and the letter “J” is not older than 500 years.
So the name jesus, is impossible to have been the Messiah’s Name.
Here is my question to you. If you think that it was translated to English, because you read a English Bible. So we have the English for “Lord”, BUT “Jesus” is Greek AND “Satan” is Hebrew? Why is that then?
I’ll tell you why, because the devil is an identity thief. All the praise goes to Him when worshipping these pagan names.
Our Father is clear, He does not share His Name:
Isa 42:8 “I am יהוה, that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols.
Why does the people call Hitler, Hitler? And the English don’t call him by an English name. Or why does the Chinese not call Trump by a Chinese version of his name?
Names don’t follow Grammar rules, because of its meaning. Here is my question to you. How many people in the world knows the Father’s sacred Hebrew Name? Or the Messiah’s Hebrew Name? Very few!
But you know what? The whole world knows Him by a pagan name Lord or Jesus.
And that is the problem, the esteem has gone to the devil.
There is only ONE NAME by which we can be saved:
Act 4:12 “And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”
So if you call Him by a pagan name Jesus, or Lord or any other, how are you going to be saved?
YOU MUST BELIEVE IN HIS NAME TO BE SAVED!
Act 2:21 ‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.’
His Name is Yahuah(יהוה). The Messiah has the same name as the Father, Yahuah. But when our Messiah came to earth, His Name became “Yahuah Saves” which is Yahusha in Hebrew(יהושע).
That is why you will read the following verses:
1Jn 5:13 I have written this to you who believe in the Name of the Son of Elohim, so that you know that you possess everlasting life, and so that you believe in the Name of the Son of Elohim.
If you deny His Name, He will close the door. Are you really willing to take that chance?
Rev 3:8 “I know your works - see, I have set before you an open door, and no one is able to shut it - that you have little power, yet have guarded My Word, and have not denied My Name.
I hope this clears up the importance of His Sacred Name to you.

if you are doubting your salvation because of sins you commit, you should get the right gospel :
trust God's work on the cross, and all your sins are forgiven.
doubts comes from false teachers who are trying to insert people's own performances into the requirement for salvation.
avoid those unbelievers, any of those who say you can 'loose' your salvation, and those who say you have to work enough or you are not really saved ... those people are from the devil.

If you have been born again and struggle then don’t worry unless you completely turned away from God, sooner or later you will get to a point where you have the upmost trust in your salvation through Christ Jesus!! Here is the problem, the christian does not walk in the light. They break every command applicable to the Father and Son.

If i were you, pay attention to what message Yahuah brings. And it is not the message of Christianity, because the church theology is a stronghold keeping you in sin.

@@jacobtack2258 the laws you speak of are the Old Testament laws given by Moses to Jews before Jesus had came and gave us grace through faith in him, look up “17 bible verses about freedom from the law” if you need proof and because we are free from the law all food was declared clean in Roman’s 14:20, and in mark 7:19 by Jesus himself.
The fact you are aware of your struggle, you know you have a problem, you know you require help from the Living God, proves His presence.
Temptation is no sin, giving way to it is a problem, if you continue to give way, you may have unresolved issues, but we all struggle on the narrow difficult road.

What does Joseph do after he says the verse you quote in Genesis 39:9? Does he go on and sin anyway, even though he knows it's wrong? No, he flees the temptation, and this is the evidence of the desire of his heart. The desire of your heart is manifest in how you act.

It's like you read my mind. Hyper grace folk who think there poop don't stink everywhere. They literally make the Lord's prayer make little sense. Why do we have to constantly ask to not be lead into temptation if a real Christian doesn't sin anymore.

I will say though that even in those times of weakness, I still feel like something isn't right, and feel instant sorrow afterwards. I do take that as assurance of salvation, because otherwise I wouldn't care and would revel in my sin.

This is always *"the struggle"* isn't it; the struggle spoken of by Paul in Romans 7 vs the truth
of the *"new creation"* [2 Cor 5 v17], which should be evidenced in a changed heart, mind, and life.
Come quickly Lord; and there we will *never sin against you again.*
In Romans 7 Paul was talking about his condition BEFORE Jesus when he was under the Old covenant Law to make the point of the magnificence of being in Jesus.
Romans 7:24,25 "What a wretched man I am! WHO WILL RESCUE ME from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, WHO DELIVERS ME through Jesus Christ our Lord!"
Romans 8:2-4 "because through Christ Jesus the LAW OF THE SPIRIT who gives life HAS SET YOU FREE from the law of sin and death. For what the LAW WAS POWERLESS TO DO because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. You are missing the message. You have to be without sin NOW, Because He does not dwell with darkness.
So are you a Christian or are you a sinner since it is impossible to be both? Plus if you can get sick then you are a sinner and you cannot be a Christian and I can certainly prove what I am relating in the scriptures below.
First understand that I am a sanctified disciple of Jesus Christ and I have overcome both sin and sickness in this life. That’s right, I am definitely stating that I cannot sin and that I can never get sick and you had better think twice before you try to disprove what I am about to relate since you may be condemning your soul in the process.
If you somehow believe that you are a child of God but yet you possess sin and sickness in your life then try and prove it to me with scripture since I know that I can certainly prove that you are wrong and I can also prove that you do not know God at all. I can also prove that if you possess sin and sickness in your life then there is a very good chance that you are heading for an eternity in hell. So if you foolishly believe otherwise then once again try and prove it with scripture.
I have had many foolish believers attacking me because I relate that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ who is sanctified in truth and that I have overcome sin and sickness in my life. Many of them just will not accept the truth that I can no longer sin nor can I ever get sick in this here life. I have related over and over how it is sin that allows the devil to destroy our lives with his sickness and disease and that if you possess sin then you certainly do not know God or scripture.
Many believers will try to tell me that I am wrong and that what I relate is impossible because Jesus was the only sinless person. They mainly try to refute my wisdom simply because they are trying to justify the sin and the sickness that they possess in their own lives. So if you believe that I am wrong in my knowledge of God and scripture and you believe that you are correct then prove your misguided beliefs with scripture. Prove to me how you could possibly be a child of God and yet have sin and sickness in your life! Give me just one scripture verse where God instructed you to live in sin or where God stated that you will always sin. Give me one verse of scripture where God stated that a Christian will certainly have sickness in their life or where sickness is a natural part of this life?
I can certainly back up everything that I relate in scripture since I know that scripture relates how a child of God does not let sin reign in their body, he does not sin, they do not sin, he has died to sin, he has ceased from sin, and he cannot sin. All of these terms are used when describing a believer who is a child of Christ but yet most who claim to be a follower of Christ believe that they can never stop sinning and that they will always sin. So here are the scriptures that back up what I know and what I am relating.

So here is what most of you certainly do not understand. Yes, scripture relates that Jesus was born without sin and that He lived His entire life without sinning so Jesus certainly was the only sinless person. However scripture is definitely not relating that His followers will always sin or they will always have sickness in their lives. Scripture is actually stating the exact opposite of that utter nonsense and it is relating how the children of God will learn how to overcome their sin and their sicknesses.
Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. This meant for us to stop sinning entirely and to start living holy and righteously just as God commanded. We are all born in sin and we all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God but this does not mean that a believer can never stop sinning. Jesus came to forgive us of the sins that we have already committed and this occurs at the moment that we repent of our sins and we accept Jesus and His Holy Spirit into our life. Once we receive His Holy Spirit we were then commanded to surrender our will to God so that we would allow the Spirit to sanctify our heart in God’s truth. Sanctification takes years and it requires our faith, patience, suffering and endurance since the Holy Spirit teaches us how to overcome our sins. Once we learn how to overcome our sins then we have now overcome our sicknesses since they come from sin and the devil. This is the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind through His sacrifice but yet most misguided believers do not understand this truth. Most fall for the devil’s lie that you could still be a Christian and also a sinner and that sickness is a normal part of this life. They simply prove that they are fools who are completely ignorant of scripture and they will perish in their sin and in their ignorance of truth.

Even Satan believes that Christ exists, we have to believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins accept forgiveness, love and mercy from Jesus Christ. If you are being attacked by evil forces or harassed, it's because Satan wants to steal and Rob you of every good thing God has for you. Pray with the authority we have in the Holy Spirit and Satan will be defeated.
'Struggling with sin' is probably the biggest evidence of salvation because the unbelievers I know don't have a problem with their sin at all!

If you are a Christian then you are someone who is exactly “LIKE CHRIST.” We are a people who can never sin and we can never get sick. We are the very very few who truly understand God’s word and we are disciples who have been set free from the sicknesses of this evil world since we have overcome our sin and our ignorance of truth.

Most believers are not Christians though and they do not understand the difference between the two. There are very very very few believers who have allowed the Holy Spirit to sanctify their heart in God’s truth and so they are not a Christian. They are simply a misguided and sinful believer since they cannot comprehend what scripture is relating.
A Christian is someone who is able to communicate with Jesus. Jesus of course knows what dwells inside everyone’s heart and so Jesus will tell a Christian whether someone they come across is saved or not or if they have blasphemed the Spirit with their misguided beliefs and so much more. This is what it means to possess the mind of Christ since a Christian possesses the ability to judge everything and everyone that they encounter.

Some will even try to use Job and others from the Old Covenant without even realizing that we are all born in sin and that there was no forgiveness of sins in the Old Covenant since Jesus had not arrived yet.
To prove my point try and give me just one scripture verse that states that a believer will always sin or that a believer cannot stop sinning? Give me one scripture verse that states that a believer will possess sickness in their lives or where scripture states that sickness is a normal part of this life? Guess what there are none and this is why misguided believers have to twist the meaning of scripture since they are trying to justify why they continue in sin and why they have sickness in their lives.
This is why only a remnant of us will be saved since most believers are nothing more then ignorant souls who clearly do not understand God and scripture. They have ignorantly chosen to follow the road that many believers travel and they never discovered the truth that the very few of us sanctified believers have.

My wisdom of God’s truth came from Jesus Himself since I endured God’s purification process. My sanctification took years and it required endless hours in prayer and reading scripture and it required my faith, patience, suffering and endurance. Because I am now born of God I can no longer sin nor can I ever get sick and it is very easy for me to discern a child of God from a deceived believer.

I'm just not sure that I'm saved. Like, I used to fight against temptation with all my might. Now it's like I hear a voice telling me to stop before I look at those images, and I just ignore it. I just do my sin and afterward, I feel like a guilty piece of trash that God could never forgive. I then pray for strength for the next time and repeat the whole process over.
You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts. But don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions.
If you realize that you are trapped and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you.
It is important that what you regard as repentance is what God calls repentance in the Bible. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. That opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), freedom from sin/addictions, and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is salvation.
You just need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset:

21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

That will lead you to transformation by the power of God and freedom from sin.
Salvation is about staying on the 'way of righteousness' (2 Peter 2:21) that leads to eternal life. So, that is a journey that you need to stay on and finish after you have begun it, by remaining faithful/obedient to God, with his grace helping you (Hebrews 4:16, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Titus 2:11-14):

If you’re aware of your sîn and it grieves you with godly sorrow, that’s the conviction of the Holy Spirit SEALING YOU AS CHRIST’S until the day of redemption, Ephesians 4:30. You have to understand that the unbelieving world, and professing believers in Christ who are not born again of the Holy Spirit, they have no conviction of their sîns, and therefore don’t deeply desire to live godly, in obedience to Jesus, because we love Him. They sîn without any remorse whatsoever. This is not possible for a born again believer, because the indwelling Holy Spirit is going to work repentance in your heart, and regeneration, which are gifts of God and are the work of the Holy Spirit living in us, and not our works. This conviction by the Holy Spirit is what turns us away from sïn, by the power of the Holy Spirit within us. Jesus says once we’re born again we will be made a new creature in Christ, old things will pass away, and all things become new. Jesus is telling us that true faith leads to a spiritual rebirth that CHANGES US from within. Turn away from people who have a form of godliness, professing Christ, but they deny the power of God to change the ungodly to the godly. There’s people who see no need for repentance because they say repentance is works salvation, but they have not read their Bible, because Jesus says unless you repent you will perish, Jesus desires ALL MANKIND to COME TO REPENTANCE, and scripture tells us in the book of Acts that repentance is a gift given to born again believers, which is the evidence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. As James says, professing belief in Christ without any works of the Holy Spirit of repentance and regeneration, no change in your heart, and no renewing of your mind, is dead faith, akin to the dem0ns who also believe in Christ, but their belief does not change them from being dem0ns. Everyone is being changed at a different rate, because they’re at different stages of spiritual growth, but Jesus promises that the good work He began in us, He will finish, and I know Jesus is faithful to keep His promises. We don’t practice sín, which is to live like the world and have no conscious awareness of our síns.
We don’t live in fornication day after day, or lie day after day, or steal, etc., nor do we ask Jesus to forgive us for our sîn, but we make no move to turn away from it. Like the lady who was guilty of adultery, and Jesus forgave her, but He told her to go and “sín no more”, and He was specifically telling her not to leave and go right back to committing adultery. Jesus was not telling her to never commit any sin again, which would mean you have the sinless righteousness of God by your own works of the flesh, which is impossible since we sin and do things that offend God without even realizing it. The self-righteous hypocrites who claim they are equal to God IN THEIR FLESH, being sinless and holy, forget that Jesus extended sín to include your thoughts. Jesus knows our flesh will never be perfect in righteousness, which is precisely why He had to be the substitutionary atonement for our redemption, so that through the new birth of the Holy Spirit, we’d be baptized into Christ and His righteousness becomes our righteousness, because apart from Christ, we have no righteousness of our own. NONE ARE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE. We will never be completely free of sîn as long as we are flesh, but when we do sîn, the indwelling Holy Spirit will convict us of it, and if we confess it to Christ, He is faithful to forgive us for it. If you are living in sin you are not truly a Christian those who continue to sin are children of the devil those who are born of god cannot continue to sin because gods seed abides in them. If you are struggling with sin they you probably don’t have the Holy Spirit.

Those struggling "with" sin do not need any assurance of salvation. They need to repent and get evidence of salvation. Working out one's salvation uses a math term: working out. It is the way they say to do the sum.
The problem is that the compromising churches preach a soft, cushy cross because the leaders are not saved. If you want assurance of heaven, understand this: Jesus is Lord of all, or not at all, and, if He is not your Lord, He is not your Savior.
If you are overpowered by sin, that certain fearful looking forward to of judgment is a gift from God to drive you to repentance so you do not have to go to Hell.

This kind of relaxed, "don't worry about your sin" attitude towards faith makes me sick. God is Kind and gives us more grace, but we must not casually walk after the Spirit and so deceive ourselves. We must read more scripture and follow fewer human teachers, especially those who preach these lukewarm Gospel's. Sometimes, I think they sound like Demon's who are just itching to see you suffer and wallow in sin. Yes, keep repenting your whole life, for we are FAR from perfect, but don't believe that ongoing sin is inevitable.

@@stephenblackwell5533 Great point, Stephen. I don't think he means you have to show as much fruit as another person who has matured quicker or for longer. It's more of a comparison of now vs the moment you were saved. Is there tangible change? I still struggle with pornography from the 22 years that I was unsaved, but 8 years later, my heart agrees more with God that it is sin. I hate it more. I'm absolutely broken by it, whereas in the beginning, I would excuse it more. And it's not just focusing on self control - remember your life is to be evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self control. If these things are increasing in your walk, then it doesn't matter the starting point, it matters has the Holy Spirit changed you from that point? (Coming from an incredibly hedonistic wretched sinner who can only boast in Christ as you stated). Hope that helps clear things up for the newer brethren - peace brother.
@@LAHCAH Yes sir I agree with that and took it as if you were coming from from other spectrum in regard to obedience and almost implying if our faith in Christ isn't making us better daily then we don't have Him. I know we are changed from glory to glory and do grow but if we only got better every day of every year it seems we would almost reach a state of perfection here and we know that doesn't happen. I agree and am not trying to be divisive at all on the topic I just know how one can truly be born again and also still have an internal struggle with residual sin. It seems to be a life long struggle with some things and can be more intense for some and I don't believe it disqualifies there union with Christ. Blessings brother 🙏..the fight is all so worth it.
Hebrews 10:7 "For by a single offering HE HAS PERFECTED for all time those who are BEING SANCTIFIED". We are either a) being sanctified, or b) morally perfect. Which one are you? "For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?". Hebrews 12:7 (ESV). PERFECTION in Hebrews 10:7 cannot mean 'the total absence of sin'.
Believing is only half of the equation but the other half is not works as this video suggests. Obedience in itself is works, it is through repentance of our sin that encourages our desire to depart from our sinful nature and draw closer to God. Faith and repentance yield obedience to His will and it is blood of Christ that makes us holy through the eyes of God.

@@jaimieoxford8212 There is eternal life in Jesus Christ (being in heaven in the presence of God) and eternal death (being in hell far from the presence of God). The second death is going to the lake of fire for all eternity. The very last people to be resurrected participate in the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29) They receive a body specifically purposed for torment in the lake of fire (where death and hell is thrown into; Revelation 20:14).

@@ShawnGisler I think what they’re getting at is that everyone will spend eternity somewhere, either in eternal torment or eternal communion with Christ in heaven. Our souls never cease consciousness. We will either have eternal death apart from God or eternal life in His presence.

My thing is that while yes I struggle, yes I get convicted (to the point where in prayer following a giving into temptation I want to scream and just punch a wall), I just don't know why after nearly 4 years of God rescuing me I still so often fall into sin (I struggle with alcohol). I mean once a month at this point I fall and it's getting harder and harder to fight. My first year in 2020 I went almost 150 days without and maybe 3 times the entire first year, but since then it just gets more and more difficult and the temptation is harder and harder to fight. I thought with the reading of God's word and spiritual maturity these things would get easier, but it just seems to get more and more difficult.
Jesus stated clearly that "This is how the world will know you are my disciples, if you have LOVE amoung yourselves" (John 13:15). The objective history of 'christendom' ( the catholic & protestant churches ) is dominated by HATE, not love! Ambition, intruigue, corruption, intollerance, persicution, murder e.t.c has characterised every century till this day! True there have been sincere & genuine individuals who have often silently & sometimes vocally objected to this sham but in the main Jesus must look down from heaven in disgust.

In us there's war. Flesh vs spirit. However if we're in Christ victory is already assured. Our remaining sin won't let us see that clearly and we'll forget and harden our hearts causing us to stumble. That's why putting on the armor of God is so important. Especially the shield of Faith.

Sin and the Child of God

The Imperative of Love

The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error

Believe in Jesus and be obedient. That's how I understand it. But what if you were on obedient for many, many, many years. Can you return. I think the Bible says no. Hebrews 6:4-6=It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance.
That guy said nothing that made any sense. The struggle against sin? What’s happening is that person is giving into their sins, fulfilling their lusts and struggling against God, who’s convicting them to depart from iniquity. So in that person, the love of their sin is greater than their love for God. Jesus said the soul that sinneth, it shall surely die. So your struggle isn’t against sin, which you give into, but really against God. Stop sinning! You can do it , I have, and so have others.

Sad that this person claims he was teaching 1 John but he was not teaching 1 John 3:9 : No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s Seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

This preacher picks and choose Scripture from half-truth context to tickle listeners of his doctrine of eternal security. This kind of preachers refute The Teachings, Commands and Words of The Lord Jesus.

We know what His Name is. He has the same Name as the Father. Yahuah(יהוה):
Isa 47:4 Our Redeemer, יהוה of hosts is His Name, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl.
And when our Redeemer Yahuah came to earth. He came to save and His Name became “Yahuah Saves”. Which is Yahusha(יהושע) in Hebrew.

This guy has it so wrong. Yes we must believe in the Son to be saved. But it doesn't stop there.
You have to believe in His Name, to be saved:

And the Christian does not believe in the Name of our Messiah Yahusha. They call Him by a pagan name Jesus. It is impossible for Jesus to be the name of the Messiah. Because the letter "J" did not exist more than 500 years ago.

You also have to believe in the Name of the Father to be saved:

So the Christian calls the Father by the name of a pagan deity.
Also you have to obey the commandments, to be saved, because you only receive Yahuah's Spirit with obedience:
Act 5:32 “And we are His witnesses to these matters, and so also is the Set-apart Spirit whom Elohim has given to those who obey Him.”
And obeying the commandments, you receive the authority to enter into the Kingdom of Yahuah:
Rev 22:14 “Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.
As you can see, the Christian has a huge problem. Not ticking the boxes for salvation.
That is why there is no gate for the Christian:

Let's not forget about repentance. The new Testament clearly states that you must repent and order to be saved. I preached a messages church one day and I said without salvation there is no change and without change there is no salvation. The book of John says God calls on all men everywhere to repent. Jesus said repent for your redemption draweth nigh.
Before you think or say that I am talking about works salvation or Lord ship salvation, I'm not. When you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God sends Jesus to dine across the shed his braces blood to take the punishment of the soon as world and three days later he was reservation, if you believe that, just like Romans 10 9-13 says, then you were born again. However if you do not see a chains almost immediately in your life, especially the way you talk and the way you think about things, you're probably not born again. You can't just pray a simple prayer and be safe. The Holy Spirit has to draw you
Remember only way to repent and be saved by Christ act 11:14-18, Luke 11:9-13 just follow only the original gospel tradition teaching not churches but Jesus will guide you personally to the end John 10:1-6, 11-16, zeph 3:9 and Acts 4:12!
Nope. This isnt reformed at all.. if you struggle with sin you are not a Christian to begin with.
You're a child of God because you put faith that Jesus died for your sins do you won't eternal punishment from God. We are still going to sin because of sinful nature. I am not encouraging to sin purposely but you can't earn salvation by trying to sinless because you're still under the law and you probably didn't believe that Jesus is son of God and washed away our sins with his blood.
Ok...So since we are going by the bible the words of God..I'm a loner type of person..I don't go to church I can use scripture really but there a children of God..they were told if a man be overtaken in a fault bring one back in the spirit of meekness considering yourself lest you be tempted bear one another burdens and fufill the law of christ...then their is other times the lord says if a person that is called a brother be a fornicator idolater covetous drunkard railer etc knows with such a one not to eat with them put away from yourself that wicked person...Then have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness rather reprove them...and to not be partakers with of other people sins keep yourself pure..For this you know no whoremonger unclean person who is a covetous man an an idolater has any inheritance in the kingdom of God and christ...don't be partakers with them....Galatians 5 says walk in the spirit and you will not fufill the lusts of the flesh....1 Corinthians 6 9 -11..Don't be deceived the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God don't be deceived neither fornicators nor adulterers nor idolaters nor effeminate nor thieves nor drunkards nor revelers... nor extortioners nor abusers of themselves with mankind nor etc...etc...will enter the kingdom of God you read it...Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge....Suppose to be the man of one Wife..Adulterers adulteresses don't you know friendship with the world is enmity against God whoever is a friend of the world is the enemy of God....this dude on the internet talking about he has two wives..he gonna destroy himself...Before God decides to destroy him...Building up wrath of God many other scriptures...But these people don't live by the bible...Abstain from fleshly lusts that war against the soul...Don't let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it in the lusts thereof...What about..the lusts of the flesh the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the father..but is of the world world is passing away and the lusts thereof....You are servants to whom you obey whether sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness...What about Don't be deceived God is not mocked.whatever a man sows he will also reap.sow to flesh will of the flesh reap corruption...sow to the spirit will of the spirit reap everlasting life....etc...What about the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men teaching us that denying ungodliness and wordly lusts we should live soberly righteously and godly in this present world...How about don't be unequally yoked together with unbelivers..what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness what communion does light have with darkness what concord does christ have with belial what part does he that belives have with an infidel what agreement does the temple of God have with idols come out from among them be separate touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you....What about when it says whoever trangresses and doesn't abide in the doctrine of christ does not have God whoever abides in the doctrine has both the father and the son if any bring to you not this doctrine bid him not into your house neither bid them Godspeed he that bids them Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds....How about of course it talks about the fruits of the spirit..but in galatians chapter 5 it talks about the works of the flesh...are manifest which are these Aduktery fornication uncleanness lascviousness idolatry witchcraft hatred variance emulation wrath strife seditious heresies envying murderers drunkenness revealing and such like as I told you before as I've told you in times past those that do these things shall not inherit the kingdom of God....What about the wrath of God revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness....I only listen to the lord Jesus christ God the holy ghost I have more scriptures ask ill tell you what it says...Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.talking about a mystery to iniquity how can people claim. But how could faith be faith if it is not sincere? Kinda confusing. And if it is this easy to be saved, it will not inspire desiring God or pursuing to know Him in a deeper way.

Hi there. Yes Jesus loves us. I'm also a sinner. Satan condemns us for our sins, not God. Satan lures us and when we take the bait, he then condemns us making us think it's God who's judging us. So then seeing God has condemned us we wouldn't even think of God as showing any grace or mercy towards us but in fact that's exactly who God is. He dearly loves you and is ready to forgive when you embrace his amazing grace. So when you find God's grace for the very first time you will fall in love with God also for the first time and then you'll be able to start winning this battle.

How is it that there are numerous promises of living a Holy life and few if any pastors ever mention them. Why shouldnt a christian be able to live day by day week by week month by month without ever sinning willfully against God?
Mine doesnt wane because im disobedient, mine wanes because i am so consious if ever sin i commit throught ever minute of every day that i feel unchanged, so clearly not saved.
Now i do step back and look at my whole life, and see changes, however, i have this image based on scripture of what a true christian should look like and i miss the mark seeminky entierly.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. The devil is deadly in his attack against these verses from the gospel of John. John 3:36 5:24 and 6:47. What he will tell you is that you have never been a real believer. He will tell you that you're unsaved even to this point in your life. But with assurance you can easily defeat him in this. There is no assurance than what God will provide because there are no human proofs of salvation, otherwise the entire world would see it and believe. So rely on God's assurance. The stuff you can't see or feel. Rely on what God gives you.
Our salvation is secure in the object of our faith, not the extent of our faith.

Been reading and rereading 1John everyday for a few weeks (doing the “MacArthur method of bible study), it is truly an awesome book. John is seen as this sort of doe eyed sycophant, but he was pretty hardcore. He saw things in black and white, knew that their was an absolute moral standard, much as I did even before I was saved, even if I was lost and couldn’t see the standard, I knew it was there. John’s writing has a sort of depth to it, you could study it forever and still find new things. It’s kinda like reading the works of Jung.

Keep up the fight bro. If you agree with your mind that sin is sin, and you hate it, that's a good indicator of your faith. Unbelievers love their sin, that's the difference. Jesus, when His disciples asked "how often should we forgive?" replied with "seventy times seven" aka to NEVER stop forgiving. If that's the bar He gives us, then remember that's HIS standard of forgiveness toward US as well. We are arrogant to think we are any better off approaching His throne if we are "not sinning", because it's GOD Who justifies us! Will pray for your victory over sin - it's a process, rely on God's strength, not your own (for I know nothing good is in me, that is my flesh), go to Him in repentance BOLDLY by the blood of Christ when you do sin. Confess, confess and confess again to Jesus our failures and weaknesses. I believe when we do this it brings the particular sin into the light and we realize we are only more than conquerors through Christ! It is only through Jesus strength that we overcome because our flesh wants what it wants. Our spirit desires and longs to please Jesus. When we are confessing to him, he washes over and over again as we confess to Him until we are in complete obedience to his will. We also must take every thought captive under the obedience of Christ. We are sanctified by the Word so we should be in His Word much. I read Romans, 1John and Matthew often for help, strength and assurance.
