Despite how heated each side got on these topics, I do appreciate the 'cooldown' discussion at the end. Asking each person's favorites and sharing a fun or heartwarming story from each debater. Something that is really missing in current days. Is each side being able to have a normal conversation with the other side.

I find it difficult to take anyone religious seriously when they want to control women and their body. Also, if Christians are so Pro life, where is that support after your born? The president of the United States can legally post all nuclear-powered to twitter if he wanted. The fbi, doj, dod etc , have no constitutional authority, it is the president that lets them use his authority.

Thanks for this debate. I appreciate these two being willing and able to defend their opposite opinions without resorting to force. It made clear the completely different understanding of "facts" on the two sides of these issues. This is the damage done by our utterly dishonest media and people too easily giving in to confirmation bias. But a debate like this exposes the nature of the conflict for those of us willing to be serious about fact-checking.

The Bible - and what it says about abortion - is more in tune with Roe v. Wade than the conservative ideology that took that right away from women. There is no use of the word or concept as abortion in the Bible. Abortion, infanticide, and child abandonment were permitted under Roman law. The Bible considered unborn and even before consummation that the human spirit exists. As such there weren't any differences to GOD between an embryo and a full-grown human. Women who were pregnant were protected from attack by Judaean Law. And if women had miscarriages or stillbirths - the belief in life would allow GOD to help relieve their grief. In effect - the sanctity of pregnancy was between the woman, her physician, AND GOD. The State was not interfering unless the woman and unborn child is directly harmed by violence. That is pretty close to what things were under Roe v. Wade. I think Christians who really understand the Bible should take the lead in restoring the Roe v. Wade type of Legislation in the United States. What is happening in individual States is leading to dark times for both women and men. Arguing that fetuses, embryos, and zygotes as being different - when they all lead to babies - is NOT a winning solution or logical or reasoned argument as to why abortion should be legal. Biblically this is GOD's domain and NOT THE STATES.

Not really, his comments were extremely ignorant especially since the overturning of Roe v Wade was predicated on the fact that the court doesn't have jurisdiction to rule on it thus making the initial ruling null and void, kicking the issue back to the states so the localities and the people in those localities can decide.

Cohen speaks in terms of strict prejudice. He makes conclusions before he's run the experiments and then lives in desperation to block out any reality that will threaten those preconceived notions. He's a coward and a liar, and it's pathetic that he needs to constantly lie to himself in order not to hate himself. Ironically, it's that constant self-deceit that makes him hate himself so much.
Not to mention Michael just absolutely said stuff that was blatantly not true. And as a typical republican talking head, during a debate they do the same tactic, they throw out fifty falsehoods as fast as they can, knowing it takes far longer to debunk a lie then it does to blurt it out. Only his cult would believe that this is normal, for the Saudi's to give ex presidents with no previous business ties 2.1 Billion dollars out of the blue, just around the time nuclear secrets were recovered from Trump's home, and remember what Trump tried to do as one of his first acts, he tried to get the nuclear secrets on how to build nukes, etc, and give them to the Saudi's, which the Pentagon said "NO", and had to stop him muitiple time from doing this.

Thank you BTC for pointing out inflation is a WORLD-WIDE problem! Does anyone remember when the world was basically shut down due to a PANDEMIC?!?!? How soon we forget!
American foreign policy has worldwide consequences. Nordstream 2 approval by the Biden Administration is one of 2 key reasons Putin invaded Ukraine, the other being Biden saying that "I think what you're going to see is that Russia will be held accountable if it invades. And it depends on what it does. It's one thing if it's a minor incursion and then we end up having a fight about what to do and not do." (Quote gathered from NPR) The Russia-Ukraine war is responsible for a significant amount of inflation, caused by the Biden foreign policy. American energy weakness is also a reason. And American currency devaluation through spending/creating money, which is a bipartisan issue, has been exacerbated under Biden. Oh, and the American Rescue Act, that increased and prolonged unemployment benefit. If you remember when people were getting paid 15 dollars an hour to take unemployment and stay home. Which unemployment exacerbated the early-stage inflation we saw around June 2021.
Someone doesn't look at the policies being enacted huh, one need only look at the policies of the Biden admin to see that the inflation is being exacerbated by Biden and the dems policies in reducing oil making and prematurely "going green" when these "green" products are still in their initial generation on the market, and in combination with the sanctions on Russia without an alternative to the ruskie oil. This subject is way more nuanced that you're making it seem lmao.
Inflation was projected to come to an end by the end of 2021 and the start of 2022, yet it got even worse now.
Some eastern countries have an inflation less than 5%, while majority of the countries that have agreed to enforce the sanctions have inflation of more than 5%, which is quite remarkable. Brian and you appear to conflate this to pretend that Biden didn't do anything, and even so, maybe he should start doing something then.

@@randibgood I named it in the comment. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, HR 1319 introduced by Representative John Yarmuth. I named the unemployment benefit inside of that legislation. You pay people to stay home, you get inflation because there are less jobs being filled and more money being pumped into the economy. I can name more policies and EOs by the Biden Admin too. Including two day one executive orders that directly affected the oil industry (which gasoline and oil are necessary for transportation, food production, and international shipping), those being the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline, which would be nearing completion sometime soon had it not been cancelled. And, I'll just quote the other one, "proposing new regulations to establish comprehensive standards of performance and emission guidelines for methane and volatile organic compound emissions from existing operations in the oil and gas sector, including the exploration and production, transmission, processing, and storage segments." If you make an oil company follow more regulations, they become less efficient, just by definition. Oh, there are also numerous instances of the administration not allowing or revoking permits for oil drilling/surveying/etc. Oh!!! Let's not forget this EO too! "Pursuant to section 12(a) of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, 43 U.S.C. 1341(a), Executive Order 13754 and the Presidential Memorandum of December 20, 2016, are hereby reinstated in their original form, thereby restoring the original withdrawal of certain offshore areas in Arctic waters and the Bering Sea from oil and gas drilling." So now the Biden Administration is restricting supply, basic economics means that to meet demand price will rise. SO just by executive orders, we see necessities increasing in price because cost of business operation and restricted supply. These EOs are publicly available on the federal register, a government-operated website. These EOs fall under 'Executive Order 13990 of January 20, 2021.'
Okay so let's recap. You pass a bill that pays people MORE money and EXTENDS the time period they can stay home and collect unemployment because of COVID-19 (vaccines were becoming available, and would be available before this extension ended). Going to work becomes more expensive, because you have to pay more in gas money, and unemployment benefit could be more advantageous as you would make 15 an hour from unemployment benefit (benefit divided by 40 hours a week/80 hours for 2 weeks). Less work throughout the economy means less products in the economy. Less products and more money in the economy (UE benefit, printing, stimulus checks) means products will naturally rise in price to fit demand and new money supply (basic economics), also called inflation. Higher fuel prices exacerbate this, as I mentioned getting to work is more expensive, cost of goods is more expensive because trucks/airplanes require fuel, and the prices are further increased through weak foreign policy (green-lighting Nordstream 2, his initial minor incursion comment) which resulted in the Russia-Ukraine war (Zelenskyy expressed the same sentiment) and support for Ukraine means higher gas prices if we buy from Russia.

@@sawyer7191 An economics 101 class? Anytime an economy is shut down, when it reopens there is always going to be supply chain issues and inflation. One of the biggest causes this time in particular, has to do with the oil companies and during the pandemic they were paying up to $40 a barrel for people to take the crude oil they had no market for. No demand, but plenty of supply. When they were having to pay people to take it, instead of being paid for it, it was a loss for their stockholders. Their stockholders demanded they get the profit back from the pandemic era, so the resorted to gouging. Price of fuel makes everything more expensive. Then there were a ton of extra and higher storage costs at the railyards. 60 Minutes did a great special on the whole supply chain deal. Highly recommend.

The Bible - and what it says about abortion - is more in tune with Roe v. Wade than the conservative ideology that took that right away from women. There is no use of the word or concept as abortion in the Bible. Abortion, infanticide, and child abandonment were permitted under Roman law. The Bible considered unborn and even before consummation that the human spirit exists. As such there weren't any differences to GOD between an embryo and a full-grown human. Women who were pregnant were protected from attack by Judaean Law. And if women had miscarriages or stillbirths - the belief in life would allow GOD to help relieve their grief. In effect - the sanctity of pregnancy was between the woman, her physician, AND GOD. The State was not interfering unless the woman and unborn child is directly harmed by violence. That is pretty close to what things were under Roe v. Wade. I think Christians who really understand the Bible should take the lead in restoring the Roe v. Wade type of Legislation in the United States. What is happening in individual States is leading to dark times for both women and men. Arguing that fetuses, embryos, and zygotes as being different - when they all lead to babies - is NOT a winning solution or logical or reasoned argument as to why abortion should be legal. Biblically this is GOD's domain and NOT THE STATES.
