    Egg and sandwich would have cooked fine if pan was hotter to begin with. Looks like nice set, probably just need to experiment with the temps.

    We turn our pan lids upside down on the pan, that way we can stack the pans in the cupboard

    I got the cookware/bakeware set. The instructions that came with mine said cook on low to medium heat. I use butter when cooking eggs in my pans and grill cheese. I use medium heat with all of my cooking. Love my set.

    First use you should boil some water in it to “break” it. My grandma’s tip for new pots and pans:) With most small appliances it’s even said in the brochure to throw the first batch (sandwich press, toaster) so I guess grandma was right

      Sounds like utter nonsense.
      And with most of these, you should probably season them before first use. IE, rub with vegetable oil, put in preheated oven around 300 deg for about 20 mins. Take out, let it cool, wipe out excess oil. And should probably be re-seasoned every 3-6 mos [or as needed] to restore nonstick performance.

    The square pans are induction compatible. Induction burners require a magnetic surface on the bottom in order to heat up. I do have a induction burner. Cast iron, stainless steel a magnet sticks to... and other cookware magnets stick to the bottom of work well. The advantages of a induction burner are exact temperature control.... and the heat goes directly to the pan and won't heat up anything but the pan. So if the pan is smaller and you get splatter or spills... you can wipe it off with a paper towel right away.... because the heat goes directly to the pan it is also more efficient. I tried not using electric range for a month and saved $10 on my electric bill. (I used a butane stove instead and spent $5 on fuel.) The max amount of efficiency saved using a induction burner is 20% savings... for me that is $2 a month and a induction burner costs around $75 here. I got mine as a gift. It is a good thing because it would take 3 years to save enough to cover the cost... for how I use my burners. Of course that would vary for everyone. The cheap butane stove on the other hand at $16 pays itself off quickly. What can I say... I am a numbers kind of gal. :)

    Hey Amanda, couldn't help but notice that your pans look like they have Induction bases, they generally don't work so well on regular gas stoves, if you look on Amazon you can see the pans with 2 different types of bases, you can buy a small induction cooking ring, they are not as expensive as they used to be

    I have their pot and frying pan. For products with more water like with eggs, you do want to start off on higher heat with oil, add then lower, prevents sticking. My fiance always forgets this and his eggs stick :(. I love love these though, especially the pot, I always reach for it, they're both super easy to clean.

    Hi Amanda , What a thoughful gift ,it looks very useful and I am sure you will get alot of wear out of the set. Best feature is the larger pots and the fact that it's non stick which I think is a very helpful feature . Love to you all. ❤❤❤❤❤

    I am confused as to why you just assumed the dark colors means it was marketed towards men. Women can appreciate and like dark colors too!

    • @nonanona4926
      @nonanona4926 6 лет назад +3

      Chance Koy She thought that it was marketed to men because its really pushing GOTHAM STEEL. Lol Like Batman,,, Gotham.. Plus, most men like browns, greens, blues. Women do too. But if these would've been pink for instance, stupidly some men wouldn't buy them. Lol Dumb, huh? But I do know some men that wouldn't. My husband would. But he's not too concerned about that silly stuff.

    Just for the record, the paper that comes with the 10 piece set says, "Good for all cooktops except induction."
    My information tells me that the ring on the bottom is so that the pan heats evenly.

    I have been thinking about getting another set of pots and pans. I don't think I'd get these, or order on Amazon, but you made me think about looking up review videos online. So I super appreciate you putting that idea in my head. These do look like they will do a good job if you don't use metal in them.

    I went and read the consumer report. I was not surprised based on my experience! I was very excited at first. I now have 2 frying pans which I can not use. We got them for eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, sauteing peppers, onions, etc. Maybe you can master them better than me.

    Hi, I have Copper Chef and luv it...the only thing is you can’t go higher than medium heat but you don’t need to. What I do is, I put the burner on and put the pan on it and let heat up a couple minutes. It cleans so easy. Have a Blessed Day...

    If you have an Induction burner or stove, you need something that a magnet would stick to. I am not too sure how it works but the stainless steel part will work as a magnetic pan bottom. The stainless "hob" will let you use your old pan or non magnetic pans

    You know it's funny I have noticed with all non-stick pans they say not to use a non-stick spray when most of them you definitely need a nonstick spray or at least a butter or oil especially so with Gotham steel pans I haven't had one yet that my food didn't stick to you if I didn't spray it with butter or oil first.

    I have the round frying pan and I am about to get rid of it because EVERYTHING sticks to it since I used it a half dozen times. I couldn't make a fried egg, because it stuck to the pan and it broke when I tried to turn it. I really wanted to get the large square one, but now I'm afraid to even try it. I'm glad to see your opinion of the pan.

      Thank you!!! I will definitely have to try that because I love the look of these pans and I really want to get the deep one. I think I'll just go ahead and use your link to order it....the things I'd probably make in that one won't be "sticky" anyway, I don't think.

      My mother in law had the same issue with it, so she gave it to me lol. I don't have that issue. I add plenty of oil on high heat, lower it after to a medium, and no sticking.

    Ceramic lining is what all pan sets are going to because new laws have passed that are forcing company's by a certain date to no longer produce pans with the Teflon coating because it's been found to cause cancer. The ceramic coating doesn't chip and has been proven to be safe.

    • @mamabearblue5622

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin Год назад

      @@mamabearblue5622 Please provide a reference, 'cause that sounds like nonsense...
      Teflon **used to** have harmful chemicals (PFOA) used in manufacturing, but that has been phased out industry wide. Ceramic pans never used PFOA and were always regarded as the "healthier" option, though it's a moot point now that PFOA isn't used anymore in Teflon pan production...

    I think some of the comments are on to something. It probably is the fact you don't have an induction cook top. But if all your other favorite pots and pans are not magnetic, if you're like me, you would probably not change your stove and then lose all your favorite oldies.
