You took the words right out of my soul. These past 1.5 years weren't about finding out that introversion was the only way so many of us could cope with the pain. The way we can all heal collectively is by each of us finding the strength from deep inside us and sharing it with each other, and then form a force so strong that nothing can break past it.
She’s incredible. I can’t help it but she reminds me of Lauryn Hill. We’ve been needing another artist who comes and positively influences a new generation. I think she’s finally here. Thank you.
@@parentaladvisory9826 how about the fact that they (despite obviously being black women) also discuss real life issues such as racism and inner turmoil. Maybe if you'd stop focusing on something so trivial u could find the similarities😟
Give this woman the awards she absolutely deserves already. We need more people like HER. I am sick of most songs being about love, breakups, sexual themes, …. etc. This young woman tackles strong amazing messages and ideas throughout her songs, and the way she delivers OMG.
I have never heard a song so rich with love, power, pain, rage, healing and liberation all at the same time. I am overwhelmed. Little Simz is amazing. I am a huge fan. ❤
*What a SLAP. I went for so many raw emotion:speechless, disturbed, impressed, shocked, mesmerized!* *She has everything: flow, stage presence, visual/style, deep lyrics attached to a strong story telling and symbolism, myth & culture. She is a new movement!*
I can't get over how incredible this song is in every aspect. The production is immaculate, the lyrics are consistently sharp and hard-hitting, the beat transition is perfect, and the small musical flourishes added by the symphony make it so you hear something new in the instrumental every time you listen. This is probably my favorite opening track from any album in the last decade and, while the rest of the album is also great, it almost suffers from how big of an impression the opening track makes.
honestly fully agree, nothing in the rest of the album even really comes close to this in production quality and really just...quality in general. its still a good album but but this track is on a whole other level
You make me feel powerful! Your music, your delivery your energy! A Nigerian that makes me proud to be Nigerian, A black that makes me proud to be Black, A woman That makes me proud to be a woman.
This was amazing! By the way this verse: "Your introversion led you here Intuition protected you along the way Feelings allowed you to be well balanced And perspective gave you foresight" remind me of some MBTI personality types: INFP (Introversion, Intuition, Feelings, Perspective). Interesting :D
She reminds me of Nas - in terms of lyrical genius and the music production - but she is even faster flowing...Amazing. She should be huge and up their with the likes of Tupac, Snoop, Dre, Eminem.etc. Hope she gets more recognition outside the UK. The fact she plays bass, guitar and piano really well is the icing on the cake to be honest. Let's hope she is around for many years to come.

“I see the illness eat my aunt laying in her bed”. This hits me so hard. My aunt is in Italy (i live in Romania) and she has cancer. I often videocall her and she always smiles and acts strong, but i know the situation is bad. She doesn’t know all the details that we know because she must have faith, i feel i’ll lose her and i want to cry. I grew up with her in our house and she always looked after me and spoiled me and now i always tell her “oh, you are celebratig your 21st birthday now, you are so beautiful” and i always tell her she is 21, 18, 25, 20, i always try to make her smile and feel beautiful because she is my beautiful sweet aunt. She is only 47 … I love her so much and i don’t want her to suffer anymore. I wish we all become old someday and i die before her, as it would be normal … Peace! Take care of your loved ones while they are still there!

"I'm directly affected, it does more than just bother me"

powerful!
This is one of the greatest hip hop songs i’ve ever heard, the message and the instrumentation is mind blowing
Thank you.
she’s literally a black woman. the only similarity
@@parentaladvisory9826 how about the fact that they (despite obviously being black women) also discuss real life issues such as racism and inner turmoil. Maybe if you'd stop focusing on something so trivial u could find the similarities😟
Other similarities:
1. Both great rappers.
2. Both sing to the roots of hip hop, with meaningful lyrics.
3. Both have made some marvellous videos.
She gives me shades of Jean Grae. I love her energy!
Wasn't Lauryn Hill a well known racist? From what I gather Simz is against that.
can y'all believe Lil Simz just invented music? she did it againnn

This isn’t a beat bro, it’s a full on instrumental done with an actual orchestra and choir.
honestly fully agree, nothing in the rest of the album even really comes close to this in production quality and really just...quality in general. its still a good album but but this track is on a whole other level
You make me feel powerful! Your music, your delivery your energy! A Nigerian that makes me proud to be Nigerian, A black that makes me proud to be Black, A woman That makes me proud to be a woman.

Simz, Fantano just named introvert as his best track of 2021.... and what a track it is....👌
She reminds me of Nas - in terms of lyrical genius and the music production - but she is even faster flowing...Amazing. She should be huge and up their with the likes of Tupac, Snoop, Dre, Eminem.etc. Hope she gets more recognition outside the UK.
The fact she plays bass, guitar and piano really well is the icing on the cake to be honest. Let's hope she is around for many years to come.

Lyrics:
There's a war (there's a war)
The kingdom's on fire, the blood of a young messiah
I see sinners in a church, I see sinners in a church
Sometimes I might be introvert
There's a war inside, I hear battle cries
Mothers burying sons, young boys playing with guns
The devil's a liar, fulfil your wildest desires
Now I don't wanna be the one to doctor this
But if you can't feel pain then you can't feel the opposite
The fight between the Yin and Yang's a fight you'll never win
I study humans, that makes me an anthropologist
I'm not into politics but I know it's dark times
Parts of the world still living in Apartheid (there's a war, there's a war)
But if I don't take this winner's flight that's career suicide
Though I should've been a friend when your grandma died
I see the illness eat my aunt laying in her bed
I see her soul rising as her body gets closer to death
Find a way, I'll find a way
The world's not over
I will make it, don't you cry
In God we trust
'Cause we're not alone
I need a license to feel (I can't feel)
Internal wounds and I'm not tryna be healed (no I don't, no I don't, no)
I sabotage what we are trying to build
'Cause of feelings I keep inside but it's time to reveal (reveal, reveal)
I hate the thought of just being a burden
I hate that these conversations are surfaced
Simz the artist or Simbi the person?
To you I'm smiling but really I'm hurting
I dedicate my life and gave my heart over twenty-something years
Left wondering how I even feel
Or was it was even worth it?
I bottle up and then spill it in verses
One day I'm wordless, next day I'm a wordsmith
Close to success but to happiness I'm the furthest
At night I wonder if my tears will dry on their own
Hoping I will fulfil Amy's purpose
Angel said, "Don't let you ego be a disturbance"
Inner demon said, "Motherfucker, you earned this"
Like they strip you of everything you're deserving
Realize there is a prison in us, we are conditioned as fuck
Man, it's like they can't sleep 'til our spirit is crushed
How much fighting must we do? We've been fearless enough
All we see is broken homes here and poverty
Corrupt government officials, lies and atrocities
How they talking on what's threatening the economy
Knocking down communities to re-up on properties
I'm directly effected, it does more than just bother me
Look beyond the surface, don't just see what you wanna see?
My speech ain't involuntary
Project with intention straight from my lungs
I'm a black woman and I'm a proud one
We walk in blind faith not knowing the outcome
But as long as we're unified, then we've already won
Find a way, I'll find a way
The worlds not over
I will make it, don't you cry
In God we trust
'Cause we're not alone
And so it begins
The base is an amalgamation of everything
Rules are not to be played by rebels
The story of never ending
Your introversion led you here
Intuition protected you along the way
Feelings allowed you to be well balanced
And perspective gave you foresight
The top of the mountain is nothing without the climb
Only the strong will survive
Only the strong will survive
Alone but not lonely
Your truth unveils with time
As you embark on a journey
Of what it takes to be a woman

She is only 47 …
I love her so much and i don’t want her to suffer anymore. I wish we all become old someday and i die before her, as it would be normal …
