Such an amazing player and such a nice guy. I had the privilege of attending the Berklee College of Music's week long guitar sessions program in 2013 and he was one of the artists they brought in to perform. I was absolutely blown away by his musical ability and he took time to talk to everybody who attended the show afterwards and was just so courteous. Love ya Mike!!
Great interview Mitch with one of the true living legends. Saw Mike on his last tour with Eric Johnson in Boston and it was a truly amazing show. Mike is such an inspiration, his positivity is so refreshing.
Nice interview with Stern. I'm sure there are some career history details and bits he's mentioned thousands of times, but patiently and kindly recounts. The great stuff is "the other": new stuff, different conversational angles, and the intelligence and prep of an interviewer who can add (or miss) opportunities to bring them out. Must be a great honor to be asked about your musical life and thoughts.
I saw him Live in Mahwah NJ , Ramapo College , acompanied by Richie Moralase and Teymur Phell , No horn . Sterns tone is pleasant , they have a great sound , sometime joyus, some times spooky best show ever
When you have an artist, it would be nice if they could play something before they talk. There are so many new musicians that it is difficult to keep up with them all. A few moments on their instrument, speaks for its self.
Mike & Eric together really compliment each other - I hope they keep at it. Stern started on Hendrix and moved towards jazz, Eric started with jazz and went the opposite way. There are WAY too many solo studmuffins and not NEAR enough BANDS.
Damn, it seemed like he opened the door to some Miles questions 5 minutes in, and the interviewer didn't take the bait. I could interview these legends, drunk better than these corporate heads because they're such stiffs. Where's Terry Gross or Howard Stern when you need them ha.
OMG...they're actually censoring out the word 'Ass'. lol Poor Mike can't say ASS. But he did get away with saying 'Hell' a couple of times. What is the world coming to? Is this kindergarten?
Mike is one of the most humble geniuses in music. Its an overused euphamism but in this case, true: Mike really is a national treasure.

The interviewer did a great job getting out of the way and letting the artist speak. Refreshing.
Could there be anyone more mellow than Mike Stern? One mellow man seated with one audio tech genius in a great interview. Thanks!
I saw Stern with Miles in Copenhagen at Montmarte. Such wonderful music.
