I think you might know this already but you don't need the gold flag in S8-Crown and only need three Stars coins to 100%
It took him 8 years to film 8-Crown without any power-ups and I have mad respect for that

S8-crown is easy with no power ups first try

The ghost in world 4-4 is my favorite because it reminds me of the Ghost floating in the air just like Ghostly Galaxy in Mario Galaxy

@@surixoxo To unlock the Crown Level, you must collect all Star Medals (there are 3 in each level) and finish all stages by reaching the top of each flagpoles, making the flags golden.

Luigi wasn't really an easter egg, more of a nice reward for beating the game since it points out that you have to go save him.
EDIT: Alright everyone I understand now that the title says "All SECRETS & Easter Eggs" that was my mistake

it's not a secret either you just have to progress through the game to get it
Fun fact: in one of the rare ? Rooms on the overworld, you can get a p wing. Pretty cool in and of itself BUT it can also be used to beat special 8-crown with no repercussions

sometimes I replay 8-crown to go to areas that would be perfect places for star coins

6:21 above those colorful platforms
7:57 in the air where you collect it by jumping to the right of the platform onto the second one

this game was my childhood, miss all these songs and level designs...
There is another secret if you want to try it. First you start a new game then once you get to an area with a warp zone take the warp. Don't activate the world transition cutscene until you unlock luigi. Then once you have luigi select him and activate the transition cutscene, instead of it playing normally as mario it plays as luigi.

With the cutscene when peach is looking outside the castle thinking of Mario. If you shake the device enough you can here see and hear Luigi jump up from the wall
There is possibly another, slower 1-up trick, if you hover above the spot where a goomba spawns from a baddie box they will jump right under you. Idk if this was covered, but if you use skips to skip cutscenes, after unlocking Luigi you can view the cutscenes as him as long as you never viewed them as Mario. He actually makes Luigi sounds and appears which he isn’t supposed to normally but Nintendo thought ahead and programmed Luigi cutscenes anyway
I believe that was in S1-3 where there’s goombas that spawn repeatedly and if you have a tanooki leaf then you’ll be able to get 1-ups. Is that the one you’re talking about? It’s also similar to Super Mario Bros 3.

I got the last picture for completing all of the Special levels. It took around a month. The last airship was a pain in the ass.
Also the version I played on didn't have the S8-crown thingy for some reason. I played the first version on the 3ds in 2012

At the special 8 crown i'd prefer the tanuki, because when youre in a difficult Situation where u gonna fall, you can fly yourself on the ground (but sometimes youre unlucky but i still prefer the tanuki)

There’s another familiar level shown in one of the secret exits clips and if you don’t know which one then it’s technically the underground tower thingy if you pay attention closely to the background you can see a resemblance to the underground level from super Mario world

Something sad is that while Nintendo might survive for many more years, Charles Martinez, the voice of Mario and a lot of other characters, will eventually pass away, and Nintendo probably won’t find anyone else to make any new voice clips for games
I remember when I was 9 and decided to beat every level with Luigi and Mario then I see a exclamation Mark at the last level and I was like”..... what” after I beat it and saw the thank you I am sit cried. It took me a year to beat and it was over!
There is also a special p-wing level skipping powerup in exactly one of those purple question block challenge whatevers
