Playing with audio circuits helps familiarize with signal path and is good for an overall understanding of engineering.

      @@cusabir Hey so I noticed you have what looks like a ground running from the Video-In of the Video to VGA device to the Video-out on the GBS. Where do you have that connecting back into the circuit?
      Since I didnt see that being done in LoFi's video my build doesnt have that wired. Right now my video-out is basically colorized static and I'm trying to troubleshoot it. Im hoping I just overlooked something basic due to the fact Im a noob at this.

    • @cusabir
      @cusabir  2 года назад +1

      One ground is going from video in on the v-vga to the panel mount rca jack. Same for the vga-v.

    Sweat. Dude just gave me an idea in comments of another video and you prob could answer better than me. It should be possible to make an Oscilloscope using similar stuff right? Any ideas on where to start? I mean, if I could get around the need for old CRTs for many my projects that could be a huge win for me. Might even be able to make some really powerful microscopes using some techniques like TEM microscopes do allowing one to see atoms if I could control every pixel on the screen like an H and V scan rate.

    Preciate this video so much I built my own GBS video synth with a mixture of yours and lofi futures build. All the bend points work as expected. But I am having difficulties with the output only displaying bends when used with the VGA input on the GBS and the feedback function whenever I switch it on it just gives a video glitch mix of the VGA and RCA input. How does the CHA/V is routed to the GBS 8100? as I understand, either VGA out pins from chav should be routed to the VGA IN pins from GBS8100 but that would occupy the feedback connection or.... not?

    The last output video signal form gbs 8100 is passively multiplied so the lcd monitor and the final output to the composite to vga converter can have the same signal , is that right?

  • @ngilbert86
    @ngilbert86 2 года назад +1

    I love this version of the gbs 8100. Quick question: you've wired to power and ground according to the graphic and not to the command pins (notably 15) is that right?

    • @cusabir
      @cusabir  2 года назад +1

      Yes I skipped the command pins on this one because it kept crashing the device when I shorted to some of the pins on the previous one I made. You might want to try the bend points before you solder to jacks to mark which ones work well. It produces a pretty good effect.

    • @ngilbert86
      @ngilbert86 2 года назад +1

      @@cusabir Awesome! I see you soldered to pin 50 for ground. Did you just connect that directly to both jacks (like to one jack and then that jack to the other jack)? Thank you again. You've inspired me to build a modular video system of my own. Working on it.

    Hi man, this video is amazing, watched it several times to wrap my head around things. I'm starting to build my own CHA/V right now but I was wondering did you just connect the CHA/v output into the GBS8100 input or how did you make the input from the gbs got trough the cha/v?

    • @cusabir
      @cusabir  Год назад

      I connected the chav to the video to vga converter and the output of the converter to the gbs 8100 thru the output going to the rgb pots so it could be used with the glitches. Hope that helps.

    • @cusabir
      @cusabir  2 года назад +1

      If you’re panel mounting new composite plugs make sure they are grounded to the converter and the soldered wires are connected to the pin for the jack tip. For the feed back connect the input and output by a switch. Lofifuture has a good schematic on his website. Lmk if that helps.
