Sorry to hear that Buddy!! I'll bring it up if I remember, but I already have over a weeks worth of videos in the can. you'll probably have it back by then, but I'll mention it anyway!!☺
Just starting on a Maytag 92 on teardown. Been awhile. Got lots of You Tube videos now. Back in the day. We didnt even have computers yet. thanks for the video. I watch a lot of your creation. Keep'em runnin'. Its a side exhaust too. got it in Mid Wisconsin.
That turned out to be a factory deal there, That engine was made during the first month of production of the 92's (sept 1927)!! probably just before they started using the deadly retainer clip!! I was surprised how clean it was behind the flywheel and the condenser look original too!!☺
great video as always, on a side note you mention it in short but yeah its super interesting the repairs that have been done to these by people when you find them , it like tells a story, and sometimes it was a long time ago and they did better jobs than people would do now
Yeah it is interest I always wonder if some of the repair were done out in a field just to get the thing working and wound up being permanent repairs eh!!☺
Yeah someones had there hands in it, the rings didn't have any wear on them and you could see the carbon was scraped off the piston!! No Worries Mate!!☺
Could be totally wrong of course lol but just looking at your vid Everett, it is possible someone has tried restoring that engine. Coil looks fairly new, and very clean inside the flywheel. Piston also looks fairly new, not had much work. Also I think I saw Hylomar on the bottom of the head gasket. Started the engine and found it vibrated so abandoned the project....something like that anyway. I can't see it being done years ago, then the bearing went. What do you think?
I know how 2-cycle hit and miss engines with an exhaust valve, holds the exhaust valve open to prevent the piston from drawing a vacuum, thereby opening the intake popet-valve sucking in fuel-air, and worse, pushing unburnt fuel-air out the exhaust on the 'miss' revolutions. My question is, on a hit and miss 2-cycle engine like a Maytag 92/72 without an exhaust valve, how does the engine prevent fuel-air intake via the intake popet-valve, and pushing this unburnt fuel-air out the exhaust on the 'miss' revolutions?
That engine came off a 1927 washer, but they made them into the late 40's!! I'm sure alotta of the washers we're out on the porch, but many were kept indoors with a 12-20 ft. flexible exhaust pipe going out the window. I posted a video of the washer I'm putting this engine on about 3 weeks ago, check my channel!!☺
I still want to put one on a bicycle you don't see alot of those around here those eastcoasters come to the midwest and buy em all up (just teasin don't wanna start a fight0
hey roadking, i cant upload or watch videos. my internet is totally done! so idn if u wanna tell people about that. ill probably be gone for another week.
Thanks J.E.!! These lil guys are 80 years old, they need to be treated gingerly!! nah those threads are in good shape, must have been an illusion!!☺
I'm gonna enjoy watching this build I have never been around those type of engines I just might learn something Good Job Men
He's one of my top Surgeons!!☺
Sorry to hear that Buddy!! I'll bring it up if I remember, but I already have over a weeks worth of videos in the can. you'll probably have it back by then, but I'll mention it anyway!!☺

Glad to see you put that rubber mat down!!
Yeah Buddy!! they're fun little critters!!☺
Yeah Buddy!! They definitely come in handy!!☺
Looks great, really clean for 85 years old!
I've never seen one of these apart..Very simple engine for sure..Thanks for sharing. Rich

Thanks for watching Rich!! yeah they don't get much simpler than that eh!!☺
Yeah it's the real deal!! That's why I didn't mind putting a new jack and restoring it, I only had about $60 invested in it!!☺
great video as always, on a side note you mention it in short but yeah its super interesting the repairs that have been done to these by people when you find them , it like tells a story, and sometimes it was a long time ago and they did better jobs than people would do now
Yeah 2 stroke 16:1 mix!! I like nosey, ask anything ya want!! I learn something new everytime I work on them!!☺
Looks like it's in pretty good shape internally.
I'm glad I found this video, maybe now I can repair my model 92.
Yeah Buddy!! we love that thing!!☺
Yeah it is interest I always wonder if some of the repair were done out in a field just to get the thing working and wound up being permanent repairs eh!!☺
Thanks Jim!! They're fun to work on, they're very basic!!☺
Thanks Buddy!!☺
Going good so far can't wait for the next video. Going to be a sweet engine.
I hope it helps you!! thanks for checkin' it out Bud!!☺
Nice to have help in the O.R.
Yeah someones had there hands in it, the rings didn't have any wear on them and you could see the carbon was scraped off the piston!! No Worries Mate!!☺
Yeah hopefully the bearing fixes that vibration!!☺
Thanks Mate!!☺

I don't think i've ever seen your Maytag, what are you waitin' for!!☺
Square profile screwdrivers are a god-send...
Sit back and get comfortable Buddy!! this should be a good one!!☺
Yeah it should be a good engine with the new bushing!!☺
Yeah i got lucky with this engine, ya always gotta expect to do a little work to them!! the mat is working out well!!☺
We'll see ya over there Bud!!☺
Yeah it was extremely nice, the new bearings should make it perfect!!☺
I tricked him into it!! I told him "I could tear one of them down in 20 min., I bet you can't"!! But he proved me wrong!!☺
Yeah my boy Mike saved me two pair of gloves on that job!!☺
Haha I thought you may have run out of gloves for a minute. Mike's going oldschool on the engine!
Very cool.... on to part 2!
Yeah Mike declined the glove offer, at his age grease, oil and mouse piss isn't an issue!!☺
@SuperKONR I watched the agitator bike video cool now I want one set down in the frame
look up the agitator bike on youtube, someone used a 92 on a bike. There's also one with a 72.
Did u ever come across a head losing compression around the spark plug, the plug tightened to the last on a maytag 92, what would remedy this thanks
How much are they worth before and after restoring ? Are the gas powered motors better or worth more ?
Yeah I think someone's had their hands in there in the past 30 years!!☺

I was looking thru a catalog and saw a table like yours for $599. to over $1000.
That engine came off a 1927 washer, but they made them into the late 40's!! I'm sure alotta of the washers we're out on the porch, but many were kept indoors with a 12-20 ft. flexible exhaust pipe going out the window. You live on the Kansas Prarie, in the winter you re gonna want that inside with a hose back in the day.
ha!! you're killin' me!!☺
Oh you should see how nice the coil looks on mine it looks brand new but the engines dirty though.
It sure did. It turns out that I had a bad carburetor gasket. Hopefully replacing it will fix my problems.
Has Racer been replaced...lol I always like watching these projects...nice vid!
The 72's are 5/8 HP!! Not really enough for a tractor!! I've see a tractor with one on it and top speed was about the same as normal walking speed!!☺
You really like working on those engines don't you ?!!!!! cool friggen stuff though
Thanks Bud!! Lol!! Lil Racer's a Workin' Man, he don't have time for this crap!!☺
good one
I know a guy that has some of these, 92's and a two cylinder model, what would you think there worth, there unrestored?
Thanks Buddy👍
They're worth about $125 not running, about $175 restored!!☺
@@805ROADKING
Thanks RK, he is asking 175,
I'll see if he'll deal a better price
Take care buddy
Interesting! I have one of these, but have never had it apart. If it aint broke don't fix it ya know.
Nah!! ROADKING ain't got no Village Idiot subscribers!! Just some good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm!!☺
what no blue gloves lol engine looks in pretty nice shape other than the bearing
Getting Mike to do all the work this time? :)
I still want to put one on a bicycle you don't see alot of those around here those eastcoasters come to the midwest and buy em all up (just teasin don't wanna start a fight0
You probably got a shitload more out your way!! I'm sure we had electricity alot sooner then you guys!!☺
Looks like your table is working out well
the grease and oil would not bother me but I will pass on the mouse turds and piss lol
You ain't gonna have any grease under your nails just running that camera.
I wonder how much horsepower it has
3/4 horsepower
hey roadking, i cant upload or watch videos. my internet is totally done! so idn if u wanna tell people about that. ill probably be gone for another week.
