An excellent suggestion. I also thought of including example paper. However, in published research, authors often use very concise reporting format with various tests. Therefore, it is perplexed to provide one specific paper as an example. For instance, see the excerpt using Chi-square test from a published article below,
"The nonrusticated group also mentioned the Cultural Revolution more frequently when dating events from the turbulent period than from the preturbulent (26.7% vs. 5.3%), χ2(1) = 12.94, p < .001, and postturbulent periods (26.7% vs. 3.6%), χ2(1) = 11.97, p < .01."

Good question. Two solutions. 1. Increase sample size or 2. Reduce category nubmer.

How will I enter more variable in rows and columns in crosstab?
3 X 2 means one variable has three levels (e.g., gender= Male, Female, Third gender) and one variable has two levels (e.g., Smoking cig = Yes, No). The procedure is same for 2 X 2 or 2 X 3 and so on. You will enter two variables-one in row and one column.
