That’s a crazy sweet setup! I was looking at something similar from an Amish guy in PA, but couldn’t afford it. I don’t have the skills to make one myself...
Thank you. Yes they can be quite expensive. I think the setup that Johnny Nix makes sells for around a thousand bucks for everything but he does sell the individual pieces. maybe you could go that route.
I bought the same bars, hooks and swing grill years ago for my late husband. We use to watch Johnny Nix cook on his. After my husband died my daughters and their family went to a state park and cooked the entire Thanksgiving meal over the campfire using my set and my Dutch ovens. I wish I had a fire box like you have.
First We are so sorry for your loss. We absolutely love Johnny Nix and in fact he is the inspiration for me building this set up. We have a few videos of us doing Johnny's recipes and are going to do more. I actually built my fire box bigger than the one he sold. That is so awesome that your girls cooked a Thanksgiving Day meal over the camp fire. I bet it was awesome. Thank you so much Jackie.
OK, Billy. I'm in love. I've been eyeing up those cook stations for over a year. I'll get there eventually. I have really been enjoying dutch oven cooking and especially with wood. Welding gloves are too bulky for me, so I got the kevlar LaTazas Extreme Heat Resistant Grill Oven Mitts. Love them and they work great in high temps. Nice vid of the setup and cook!
I bought the hooks and uprights for 99 dollars from somewhere out of Colorado. But I built everything else. The set up I have came be about 1700 or more. I have seen the uprights and hooks on Amazon for $65 but they are not constructed anywhere near as good

Love it...Totally inspired. I think one minor modification would be to make a small wall of thermal bricks at the back to reflect a bit more heat maybe just a reflective board. But otherwise, its really great.
Oh trust me this one reflects plenty of heat especially in the summer. I have thought of making a smaller more portable fire pit and that would work really good for that. Thank you so much for that tip. Hope you are having a great weekend my friend.
I love this, I would love to build one myself.. I'd also have one of the swing grills as a solid grill plate for different frying options, or maybe just have three swing grills/swing out tables. Great set up though man!
Thank you so much. I really am proud of this set up. I like the idea of a solid grill/griddle. If you would like to make a set up like this one I have a video that gives the exact detentions of mine. The link should be at the end of this video. Thanks again for watching and the nice words.
I was thinking the same to have a flat plate for frying but then when you think about it why not just use a fry pan on the grill the grill is a support for anything. A nice cast iron skillet comes to mind.😉

Thank you. Yes they can be quite expensive. I think the setup that Johnny Nix makes sells for around a thousand bucks for everything but he does sell the individual pieces. maybe you could go that route.
That’s a pretty slick set up
Thank you I really appreciate the complement. I am very proud of the set up.
Pretty sweet setup man...well thought out and functional.
Thank you, yes I find it very useful
Like your setup.
Thank you so much Bill. I am pretty proud of it. Wishing you a great week my friend.
Great setup!
Thank you so much. I am very proud of it.
I have seen the uprights and hooks on Amazon for $65 but they are not constructed anywhere near as good
Pretty cool setup
Well thank you so much!
that is very cool set up did you build that
+The Bobcat Guy I bought the uprights crossbar and hooks for 99 bucks. But I built everything else. Firebox and swing grills. Saved a ton of money.
@@strongsadventures nice job
Great set up.
Glad you think so! I really appreciate you likening this. I am so proud of my set up . Thanks so much for stopping by.
@@strongsadventures I made a fire rotisserie out of snow mobile parts and an industrial BBQ motor with a 3/8" spit that we roast meat over an open fire. I found your channel as inspiration for another project I want to do just like yours.
Awesome rig very nice...
Thank you Bryan. I am pretty proud of it for sure. Thanks buddy we really appreciate it .
Strong's Adventures working on the cast iron Wednesday hope it comes together first one ya know.
@@littleartsbbqoutdoorcookin8426 I am sure it will buddy. Can't wait to see what you come up with.I think that I will be back to shooting some stuff here in the next few days. Hope you gain a few new friends from Ivey's Forge and Homesteads shout out.
Strong's Adventures Yes I did and that sure was cool surprised me to say the least.
@@littleartsbbqoutdoorcookin8426 Hey we all do what we can to help out my friend. Anson is a really great guy too. A bunch of us all started our channels at the same time.
great set up 👍👍
+dazzling wave thank you for watching.
I think that sounds like a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. I’m sure there’s no shortage of heat.
cool stuff..thanks for sharing👍
+Nataliya Jordan thanks for watching.
Wow love that porta-grill!! And the bacon stuffed peppers look good too! ✌️❤️😎
LOL This is my baby. I am so proud of it . Thanks for watching
@@strongsadventures I would be too! You should make more and sell them! Money in the bank!! ✌️😎❤️
Good looking outdoor set up Billy ! Love it !
Thank you and thanks for supporting our channel
great design , I might modify it to a smaller size due to the fact that I am a empty nester
That is what is so cool you can make it anyway you like. Thanks for stopping by.
Your camping set looks really cool.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much. We really like it and it works really good for us .
Where did you get the hooks from? I would really like a set like that.
Nice setup, I’m jealous!
Thanks! I am really Lovin this setup and I have found that its the best for the way and stuff I like to cook. Thanks for commenting.
Nice setup man!!!
Thanks. This set up really works for us.
Nice set up. And peppers. Yumm
Thank you. It was very good
Hi there,
My name is Sharon, I really like your cooking set-up and I enjoy your show. I live in California and I can't find anything like yours and I wanted to know , Do you make and sell you cooking set up? if not can you share with me where I can buy a set up like yours? Thank you!
Thank you so much Shannon. I am really proud of my set up. Rhonda bought the hooks for me from somewhere in Colorado but she can't remember where she got them. I built everything else. Unfortunately I do not have the means to build any at the present time but hope to at some point. If you want you can google Campfire Hooks and find some nice setups but not exactly like mine. Thanks again for taking interest in the set up and so sorry for taking so long to reply.
Love this.
Thanks so much. It really works well for us.
Great setup!! Can you show how you would raise the grate if you needed too?
Not a problem. Just look at our next video. you should see me raising the rack in the newest video
Awesome rig man!!! And I’ll take anything wrapped in bacon please🙌 haha!!
Thanks so much. We do have another video showing the exact dimensions and all the measurements if you wanted to build or have one built for yourself. I checked out your channel and love what you are doing. I don't think that I have really ever seen anyone do a rustic/gourmet style business like you do. You are bring the cookout to a whole other level and yes anything wrapped in bacon is awesome. Thanks for checking our setup out.
@@strongsadventures thank you so very much!! I put my heart in it and I hope It’s uniqueness will shine through and take us to the next level! I greatly appreciate your kind words and encouragement
@@embersash9204 Really looking forward to more of your videos.

Thank You and it does work really well.
This is pretty cool deal for cookin 👏💖👍
Thank you. I am really proud of my setup.
That old cowboy cook from Oklahoma said the same thing about the shovel
Must be an old Cowboy thing cause I learned this from Johnny Nix as well. Thanks so much for watching.
@@strongsadventures Well I dont know who Johnny Nix is, But I do know Kent Rollins
