Man, I've been using one of these wood cookers for years. I call it my backyard campfire. Shallow pit surrounded by rock that supports a grill about 4" above the coals. Burns wood or charcoal pretty good. Steaks are fantabulous.
Really nice but tough to justify when you can get a Weber kettle, a Santa Maria add on, a pizza oven add on, a griddle and a rotisserie all for about what that cooker cost. Nice job on this one, very informative. Thanks.
I love this --- this makes you responsible for the cook. I like the whole idea. Yeah, maybe it's easier to just set a temp and close the lid, but where is the fun in that? You are going to be able to say you cooked it and not rely on too much tech to cook your meals. Love it.
I like it, but as a owner of a Breeo 24x and accessories including the outpost grill, searplate griddle and outpost sear disc, all I want is a stand to raise my pit up to normal grill height so can stand comfortably while using it.
It’s unfortunate this product is not manufactured in the USA. It’s funny, as soon as I saw Breeo announce this product on their channel I commented saying they should send you one. As usual… very informative review 👍🏼
I just don’t know that I would buy it mainly because I would most likely only use it on weekends. By time I finish work, get to the gym, then home, that would be one more barrier to getting dinner on the table. Then after cleaning up and that shut down, it’s less time to relax and wind down.
SOLD!!! I have a Breeo 19" Duoflame, predecessor to new X Series. I have been looking at TagWood BBQ Argentinian style live fire grills, Beautiful but $$$$Expensive$$$$ - this might get me into Live Fire cooking for a bunch less $$$$. Have you done a comparison to 250 gallon offset smokers? If not, I would be first in line to watch such a video, some competitors could be TMG Pits, Pig Iron Patina, M&M BBQ, Workhorse, Boathouse, Shirley Fabrication, among many others. The first 4 on this list are the ones I am currently looking at. Thank You in Advance.

Live fire cooking is really making a pretty good return which is great. But, there are so many Santa Maria accessories now on the market that attaches to the standard Weber etc. that I think we are getting overloaded with product. I like this product I think but I wish it had wheels?
This thing looks so cool! Tom Horseman just did some videos with this too, and raved about it. I’m a Kamado guy, and have been wanting an offset for a couple years, but the thought of spending $2k+ for a solid one has put me off. For some reason, this piece for $1k+ depending on options doesn’t bother me a bit. What’s wrong with me? 😂
In my mind, you buy the live fire grill as a gift for your significant other where you help out with the weeknight cooking chores around the house, and then the offset is a present for you to help cook on weekends. You're just trying to be helpful... #justanidea
It’s really only directly comparable to the Solo Stove Pi over the fire model. They both build an over over a live fire in another device, so they’re comparable. I got more ash on my pizza on the Solo Stove if you check the video on the Pi Fire. It’s been a minute, but I remember ash with that model. Other pizza ovens that use gas are much cleaner in both cases. No ash, no soot, etc.
I thought that at first as well, but then you just have to look at it in a different way. It does ship with a grill grate, if you click on grill grate as something you want. They made a cheaper version for those that already had items that would work on this pit. Otherwise, the price wouldn't be what it is for the base model.

Great video. I like that you made a point that you can clean the spatula on the griddle attachment. It's a small thing but makes a difference.
I cook on my fire pit all the time but this would be even more awsome

Thanks! We’ve had a lot of fun getting to know this one this week.
Disappointing for sure. I love it otherwise.

How about reviewing some Argentina type / Santa Maria live fire grills?
I’d love to. Have any particular models in mind that you’re looking into?

@@ponsholm I can see that. Honestly it didn’t even bother me that the wheels were missing from this grill.

Not made in USA? So sad to see another USA company start to throw in the towel!
Yeah, right, they didn't include the grate and stuff, because you might already have them - they're not included so they can get more $$$ out of you!
A grill that doesn’t ship with a grill grate. Come on, you’re avoiding criticism and justifying it because it’s free to you.
They are probably working on a subscription based model
