you said EXACTLY what i thought too! why go anything else if you are going flamecharm? you dont lose on damage, you gain more flame application than blazing so enchants arent important, you gain İNSANE versatility that you couldnt get otherwise, and the speed is very much fine. the thing is, they did this RİGHT before! deepdelver crusher can sacrifice its damage for its application, and imperial staff isnt as damaging as other weapons for its 3 crits. either the weapon should be a not very damaging one with the intention to apply flame, or have 1-2 criticals with a slower swing speed to balance it out. i feel really sorry for yayofino with all the hate and all (especially knowing how the deepwoken playerbase is) but we really could have gotten a better response. i think it actually might be better if they scrap the whole thing and replace all pyre keeper's with a new flame legendary, its just not fun to go against this thing while fighting other elementals feels very much fair.
I feel as if the Pyre Keeper not only changes the PvP scene, but also the PvE scene as well. For example, me and a guild mate decided to go kill some Mechalodaunts (he used a Pyre Keeper azure flame build, and I was using the average Gran Sudaruska Crystalization build) to get him some hp gear for his new slot. I noticed that even though he was squishier than me by at least a minimum of 150 to 200 hp, he was still killing them faster than I could with my Gran. If I had to guess, it's because the flame on hit.
keep in mind you didnt even talka bout how many tlanets the pyre keeper can proc on m1 and on crit. At the very least, the trade off of wyrmtooth is that you just aren't able to use certain talents (strong hold, the majority of heavy talents) But Pyre keeper can literally combo multiple crits into each other while burning you, slowing you, detonating you, potentially sapping all of your ether, dazing you, ragdolling, instant blockbreaking with eruption, along with literally every heavy/greatsword talent, while basically having the same requirments as a flame hero blade. And keep in mind, I'm not even including the base talents that everyone would usually take to buff dmg (manipulation, tough love, charged return, nullifying clarity (the effects of the weapon quite literally still apply regardless of if you proc this talent btw)

A flamecharm weapon with random bits of hive lore sticking out?

It was literally infused with flamecharm by a flame master who was taught by amorus pleetsky, the literal god and creator of flamecharm and also a deepwoken. If you gave it a unique effect and gave it a few buffs and like 1 extra crit, we would’ve had a flamecharm legendary that actually ties into deepwoken with both lore and style without having seemingly random hive lore or making it as op as deepwoken launch cbow

when i look at the pyre keeper i find it really hard to figure out on how they would nerf it without removing criticals or the weapon itself i feel like it just needs a massive damage nerf in order to make it balanced
With wyrmtooth you are also spending an extra 40 points to make it useful (cuz you need heavy). The reason legendary weapons are op is cuz you save points by having less in weapon but with the wyrmtooth you end up spending 40 more. I don’t think the wyrmtooth is op and I think the nerfed railblade is fine also. The flame legendary is piss op tho

Imperial staff and pyre keeper is the example of what happens when you design something and when you don't, the imperial staff is actually REALLY IMO well designed having 3 crits, 1 a far ranged crit just being good, a multi hit to catch rolls which is good, and finally a guard break, pyre keeper actually does have purpose with each crits except 2, standing ur average heavy crit, aerial its flame charm u have flame leap and rising flame, sliding crit complimenting warding radiance. crouching and running crit feels so out of place and bloated. now I really want more crits for normal weapons cuz this idea of having these good options for every weapon makes gameplay fun and dynamic.
id disagree, too many crits give too much versatility. 1-2 should be the standard with 3 needing some downsides like how imperial doesnt do too much damage

I'm just saying this because the devs can't just remove a weapon or its crits. But moving forward we would probably get more crits for more weapons cuz gran suduruska might be next 💀

i say a good balance would be splitting it into two sperate weapons the dagger and the blade nerf the stats a bit and split the crits in between
