Sometimes there are Debit card options like Target's Redcard (5% off) or HEB in Texas, that give you the (mostly) the same benefits as the credit card. 📸
My very first credit card was Walmart, which ended up with Capital One and converted to a quicksilver, which I then product changed to a Savor. Sometimes it works out. 📷
one thing i dont think was mentioned in this video is the difference between store credit cards (on the visa/mastercard/amex/etc. networks) and store cards (which can only be used at the store itself). From what ive heard, both count towards Chase's 5/24 rule. Store credit cards can be more useful, if they offer % back on all purchases outside of the store, compared to purely store cards which can only be used at the store
I don't care what you say, the Banana Republic card has saved me a lot of money on clothes. Last month I got a $50 credit at Banana Republic for using my card 5 times. I spent about $100 on the card and got $50 towards Banana Republic. Where else can you get that kind of deal?
Old navy credit card sucks ass and so does the other retail credit cards they tend to fuck up your credit for example when u pay the balance they say u didnt fuckin pay so I refuse to get any store credit cards like best buy, target, macys and so on fuck them 🙄
I’ll second the recommendation for the Target debit card. Discount of 5% applied at register. No hard pulls, no credit card slot filled. I do have it tied to a smaller checking account, not my main savings account just to be safe. I’ve never heard anyone on RUclips mention that card for some reason. I also have the Amazon card.📸
📷 I think store cards can make sense, but only if you spend a lot there (maybe at least $2k/year?) and the multiplier is high enough. The way I think about it, if the store card gives 5% back, it's 3% more than if you used a baseline 2% cash card. 3% of $2k/year is $60/year. Adjust accordingly for your baseline card. My baseline would be 3% for the CFU at 1.5x UR x 2 cpp transferred to Hyatt. So I'd net $40/year for the extra 2% on $2k/year spend. Better than nothing, but not amazing.
📷I had the Walmart card because I do the majority of my grocery shopping via online pick-up orders & Walmart was on the way home from work but then I started working remotely & didn't use it as much. Now it doesn't exist. If I shopped at Target a lot I'd get their debit card but I go there so infrequently that it's not worth the hassle.
I have the kohl's card. Its my 3rd oldest card with a 5k credit limit. Wont get rid of it unless Capitol one card restrictions mess up my chances for the VX
📸The only store card I have is the Costco Citi card. I feel it works for me since I work pretty close to a Costco with a gas station, so I get that 4% back on gas and also I buy some of my more bulky items there, so it’s very great for savings plus rewards
I didn’t even watch the video yet but I agree with the tittle. I been trying to tell ppl stay away from store credit cards🙅🏾♂️. The only store credit card, that makes sense is Amazon credit.
Congratulations @Alvin_1914 for Being 1st to Comment on the Channel Today.. We have this Beautiful Gold Medal for You. 🥇 Wow doesn't that Shine Nicely 😊. (The 2nd place Silver Medal looks like its made of Aluminum , Good thing you didn't get that one ) 😂. Great Job and Thanks for Playing.
📷I have some but really don;t use because of my main credit cards. Usually the benefit is 5% cash back. Its alot but I prefer getting rewards from my primary.
My P2 and I have a few store cards. My P2 stacks coupons on top of card discounts on top of sales. Some(like Best Buy) are nice that you can get up to 24 months interest free depending on what you buy. Can come in handy if you need to make a bigger purchase but can’t pay it off right away. That’s basically the only times we use them.
📷📸 I have the micro center card for the 5% discount. Its great if you need computer stuff and live near one. From what I have seen other store cards are not good value long term, takes up a 5/24 slot, and is another hard inquiry.
Agree about store cards with the notable exception of B&H Payboo card. $0 AF and in California i get a 10% discount on almost all Electronics i buy. Photography is a hobby of mine and its NOT cheap. 10% off helps
Hey Sebby! Idk if you’d ever be interested in making this video but I’d love to see how you use tech with credit cards in your daily life! Like apps you use when you travel etc

Useful when I lived overseas… flew in, bought a bunch, left the country, cancelled.
player 3? don't start swinging on me Sebby
👀
just for one season
Finally a reasonable argument for polygamy.
Only 27% of people regret getting a store credit card? I thought it would be a lot higher.
Maybe just their sample size 🤷♂️

Excited for Adaxum’s next steps.
Used to love my Radio Shack credit card.

Nice! That worked out well :)

Yes, but really depends what type of currency the % back is offered in and the terms attached.

I take offense to this video. I am proud of my K-mart credit card.
😂
i used to work at old navy and they really pushed us to sign customers up for the credit card. It’s bad lol
I hate that credit cards are sometimes part of retail performance reviews.

Adaxum’s presale is gaining momentum, and I’m thrilled to be part of it.
Would you consider Paypal's or Ebay's Mastercard as a store card? If not, could you make a video about this?

Hey, check this one out: Adaxum’s presale could be a sleeper hit.
Costco is the only store credit worth the squeeze.
I have the Amazon store card
My credit score still not good enough to get the chase version. So far so good
📸 Used to have the following store cards ... Best Buy; Home Depot; Macy's; and Circuit City.

I love my Best Buy Visa though. No interest for my LG C4 OLED
Mr Sebby where did all your Chase credit card videos go on this channel and the business channel
Doing a channel refresh. Will talk about it in an upcoming video.
Random question? Why is Marino wool better for travel then cotton? Lol I’m looking at wool sweaters so ima need you to convince me to ditch cotton
Here's a Reddit thread about it: www.reddit.com/r/onebag/comments/ps6bww/how_good_is_merino_wool_really_for_city_travel/
I didn’t even watch the video yet but I agree with the tittle. I been trying to tell ppl stay away from store credit cards🙅🏾♂️. The only store credit card, that makes sense is Amazon credit.
Agree! Amazon is a solid card.
Does Apple Card consider as a store card?
I think it’s 100% a store card with flair! :)
I'm currently stuck in a training but I saw a notification #squuuuuuuuuad
Notification squad! :)

Electronics i buy. Photography is a hobby of mine and its NOT cheap. 10% off helps
We chose expensive hobbies 🥲
@ atleast yours earns you money. Mine is a money pit. But it does make me very happy
Would you say this also applies to Amazon and Costco credit cards?
I think the Amazon card is solid. Not really a fan of Costco card. YMMV.
Adaxum’s DeFi potential feels real.
Hey Sebby! Idk if you’d ever be interested in making this video but I’d love to see how you use tech with credit cards in your daily life! Like apps you use when you travel etc
I have a very simple setup. Will put it on the to do list!
📷
So Mandy is pregnant then like I suspected. LOL
Wut. She was drinking Hibiki all weekend 🥃 Yikes.
Citi Sears is a great card though 😂
The title should be “Why Store Credit Card Are Crap.”
Crap…trap…close enough 😉

Almost! :)
