These tutorials are priceless, man !!! The amount I’ve learnt and got to say, loving the ultra, and Fw inks,,, .. thanks Rob, we really do appreciate these videos..
you got me hooked on Inks especially FW. The way inks spray are so smooth I just love them. I have learned more off of your videos than i have in the last two years of many diferent content artist here on YT. Thanks and its much appreciated.
Thanks for the upload, the tutorials and all that. Really you've already been a huge help in learning how to use the airbrush. I have started using a test paper off to the side and I set the setting where I want it to be to get the result I'm looking for on the airbrush. Then I turn it once more to a larger setting and I try to feel the trigger more and not bump into that safety thats on it. I caught myself the other day using the airbrush nicely and I was on wide open. I forgot to put it back on 2 which is what I wanted after doing a change in colour. Thanks bud.
Hey Rob, excellent tutorial. I’m new to airbrushing & found your channel by accident…thanks YT. I’ve subscribed & lost many hours working through your amazing work. I will definitely be purchasing an airbrush & will opt for a 0.2 from the start. Please can you recommend one from your your video from budget to top end. There was one towards the end of your video but I’m not sure which one it was? (looked red and gold from memory). Thanks again, will be following your channel moving forwards…
If i have a good looking piece that i want to protect. Is there a way to protect the paper and the ink and colour with some sort layer coat? And wich one.
Great portrait and a great tutorial. I am doing betty Boob at the moment, she has a green dress on, but my green and yellow paint looks like it has dust in it when I put in the isopropyl and/or water. I have different makes of paint, but even my Createx is doing it. It won't come out of the airbrush the way it is, The Createx is transparent, but it blobs when I drop it in and when I mix it, I can see tiny metal like flakes at the bottom of the cup, not all my paint is like this, the black works perfect. Any ideas? Thank You.
Another painting that you have nailed it totally awesome, that main handheld shield you use where did you get it from please?, I've tried looking everywhere the curves on it just look perfect. Stay safe and mostly stay strong!!
@@dredfxcustompaint much appreciated I did find something close on Pinterest perfect just printed it. Fanx for answering & look forward to next video 😁
I have just bought this airbrush. Is there a way of changing the front guard so the needle is open exposed? I find I always need to clean it and the guard gets in the way
Great video Rob learning so much. Love the Ultra 24. What shields do you use and do you have a link to them. Keep up the amazing work and helping us newbies master this craft
Great video Rob. Don’t have the Ultra but may get one. My main problem is getting paint mix and pressures set up. Plus I’m still having problems with a grainy effect and If I pull back more I get spider. Gonna have a break from it today and just try experimenting with mixes and pressures tomorrow. Don’t want to spoilt more pictures. I also need to check the needles as I have been ham fisted with them when starting out.
Uhhm I just looked into my harder & Steenbeck Evolution 2024 box and I forgot I allso do have a bigger needle. From the box the 0.28 I think it is was pre installed and i used this one since I started. But what's the difference between them is the smaller one worser for big shades ?
The only thing I don't like about my Ultra 2024 is that if you're not on top of your trigger technique (push down, pull back), and you're only slightly off, the trigger GRINDS against the body of the airbrush. Not smooth. Not fun.

Fw inks with water and isopropyl should be fine the new version of wicked just mix that with isopropyl and that should be good 👍
@@dredfxcustompaint Thank You, I shall try them.

Which paint is it grainy with Cyril 🤔
Createx illustration Rob.
@@Cyril-eu4gf are you mixing with water 💧 I think you may need to strain it before you put it in your brush If that's getting grainy
Yeah mixing with water and the paint must be well over 2 years old. It’s giving the same effect as though the air flow is being cut off.
@@Cyril-eu4gf yes definitely try straining it
Great job getting mic.. It sounds way better..

@@Maxtorym use the 028 for the details with thin paint or ink and use the 0.45 for thicker paint or thin paint both work great
Oke thanks, I think I give the bigger needle tomorrow a try I haven't used it yet. But I do like the fine one with the 2 2 10 iso drop ratio.
Did the same thing Rob with the ultra don’t like the front nozzle? Great video 👌
Thank you 👍

Drop some lube on the sides of the trigger that should help
NEW ULTRA COMES WITH VERY BIG NOZZLE.I THINK IS DIFFICULT TO MAKE DETAILS.
You can swap it out for a 0.2mm if you wanted to
