  • Moving an Electrical Service Panel should not be done with any live wires. Disconnect all power to your service panel before attempting to move it or perform any maintenance. Make sure you contact your local electrical company to de-energize any electrical wires before doing anything like this. I’m serious!

    Don't be Fooled! Jefferson Electric has his own RUclips Chanel. He's a MASTER electrician who specializes in large commercial builds. This single home job, to him, is overly simple.

      Still illegal to pull meter, plus the line side belongs to the utility company and they can prosecute.

    Joel is the man. Electricity is the only thing I don’t do! Saw him on Stud Pack and now here. Is he the electrician to the YT creators? Need to get myself a channel. 😆 But seriously, I’ll have to subscribe to his now. Great job! I’d never do that even for a $1M.

      Yes you have to check out his channel. There is so much interesting electrical tips. I watch all of his videos and hope i never have to do it myself lol. Electrical is so technical that I just rather have Joel do it 😆

    To be honest, I was more worried about you grabbing and handling the slack in the main lines as he moved the base... a nick in the insulation from shoveling could be bad... A company i worked for in the past once after putting a 2 story addition onto the side of a house needed to move the overhead feed from the original location to the addition as a new pannel was installed there for the extra load. The owner was also a licensed electrician, and when time came, up the ladder to disconnect the lines from the mast head, one at a time taping each good, then dropped the line into the front yard. then he got down, moved the meter over to a new base over on the new addtion, went out to the yard to grab the line, and up the ladder to connect it up. (we had someone in the front yard the whole time to keep watch to make sure no one went anywhere near the line while it was down.)

    I did this in the uk, they quoted me £3k to do it and i did not want to pay.
    The existing feed was to a mobile home on the build site and i wanted it to my nrw house. I dug back along the cable then towards the new location then disconnected it with high voltage gloves on, taped the ends, mover the power meter to the new box then connected it in.
    Covered the cable with sand and slabs the warning tape and back filled.
    Job done zero cost

    Nice to see this but he should have had on more ppe. Better arc shield mask and somthing to prevent his exposed arms in case of an arc flash. He still could and you could have bean seriously harmed by stray voltage as well. When he said you have 220 legs comming in on ether side you need to double that to 440. Thats a hell of alot of voltage Comming in. But it can be done and it was still enjoyable to watch and see. And i have done the same joke with my wife about acting like im getting zapped by electricity. Lol funny as hell too.

    One question, when doing the framing around 35 second mark, why did you run less joists longer instead of more but shorter joists to the foundation? Wouldnt they be much stronger that way?

I’m commenting on your most recent video because you don’t seem to respond to new comments on old videos and I am OBSESSED with the textured tile you used for your kitchen back splash 3 years ago! Can you please give me more information on that tile so I can try to find it? Thank!!!!!!!!!

    So what is it that kept him safe with those live wires? Was it the gloves or was it something else?

    • @HB-600
      @HB-600 4 месяца назад +1

      The gloves, a tremendous amount of skill, and a little bit of luck.

    • @nicktrayer5426
      @nicktrayer5426 4 месяца назад +1

      The gloves are preventing his hands with moisture in them becoming a conductor, of electrical energy, they also help prevent arc flash to a point. As long as you are not making a circut you can hold on to live wires all day long without getting zapped. However he should have had a proper arc face shield and protective clothing on while doing the disconnect and reconnect. It's just good practice.

      @@nicktrayer5426 i was wondering about the shield he was using. I looked like an ordinary kind like people wore at the start of COVID.

      Yes there are specific arc flash face shields they are tinted to also protect the eyes from the bright arc

    😂. Reminds me of my Grandpa who was an electrician. He was very good, and (for reasons I never understood) preferred to work with live wires. Worked every day until his last few at age 85 or so (totally unrelated to electricity). Made me a nervous wreck! 😮😅😂

    What the heck! This is extremely irresponsible.. and illegal. How can you put it on RUclips with a good conscience and make money from this? Also, I'm sure the town inspector can cite you for this given you just published the proof for the world to see...

      @@KomarProjectYeah since this is temporary inspector wont really care as long as its still done safely and live connections are not exposed to bystanders, Power company might not like it but by the time you are ready to make it installed perm, they might actually be ready to disconnect the power properly for you by the book
