Charlie has got to be the most dignified and gentlemanly musicians of the Rock n Roll world.
Ronnie always strikes me as being the ultimate people-pleaser. He just wants EVERYBODY to have a good time. In many ways, I think that he's the reason this band has managed to survive since the late 1970s and he doesn't get nearly enough credit for that.
Spot on. He never took himself too seriously.
They‘re actually both totally nice guys. Talk music with them, and they lighten up even more. Ronnie loves painting. Start talking about that, he‘ll go on till it‘s time to grab a bite. Or longer. 😁
if he should focus on playing better guitar
Charlie is so cute aw!
0:42 "I think he died during the process of buying it (laughter)" ...Charlie "ohh haaa...sounds like Keith." LMAO, hahaha.
Charlie and Ronnie, the best of mates!
I have to say Charlie is my favorite.
Perfect example of types of gemini. Charlie : quiet and doesn't talk often. Ronnie: Energetic and talks a lot.
They are both so adorable, great guys really
Charlie and Ronnie could sell me ANYTHING, they're simply adorable! Of course, now I have to get the book next week! 😄 😄 😄
Agreed💯
rest in peace🕯️ Charlie •
I written this before, but watching how Ronnie treats Charlie just warms the heart. So much care and love for that man, and what he has meant and done for the Rolling Stones for so many years now. The day will soon come when Charlie won't be there, and I find it very difficult to imagine the Stones continuing on without him. Hell, the day will soon come when none of them are here.
Wow, that was pretty prophetic! Charlie is gone now and yet the stones are still out the rockin, it will never be the same again for me without charlie, but they're getting rave reviews and i suppose if i were them I,would still want to keep going, because as you inferred they don't probably have that much time left
Awwww, MR Charlie Watts. One of the most respected drummers in rock history. The "drummers drummer". They all love Charlie. Saw them live few months back and Watts was great. The "engine" of The Rolling Stones beat canacer, never moaned about it,,,,,and just keeps going. All respect to the living legends.
I love The Rolling Stones it use to be because of their great blue/ rock music but now it has also become also each ones unique personalities and professional hard working men work their ya ya s. Off !! I love the videos when I realize how they bring their beautiful family members with them it make one realize they are as no different than anyone else who. Loves being surrounded by family but the music and performances are LIKE NO ONE ELSE .....peace to all who are grieving the loss of Charlie we feel your pain . love you R S family .
LOVE YOUR VOICE CHARLIEEEEEE♥
0:30 Charlie, after ronnie singing whatever he is singing: "...and cut that out". Superb humor. Quick and low spoken.
Miss you so much Charlie. You were the best.
Couple of amazing blokes.... thanks for the music...mate
Ron et Charlie discutant - souvenir - merci Charlie tout simplement - video agréable qui nous rappelle des bons moments du groupe tournée 50 ans déjà
'Love Ronnie, he's so funny and chatty.
Did I just hear Charlie Watts talk? Impossible!
These guys still have that young rock personality, its awesome!
Love you Charlie! Peace!
"And this is Charlie going home from work" No wonder why they are - and always will be - my favorite band.
Beautiful. Been a part of my life for 52 years.
Happy Birthday, June, for Charlie and Ronnie. Great book.
Love these guys.
My heros right there.
the world must face a simple fact. These guys are immortal.
that didn't age well
fucking hell ronnie wood is so adorable
Charlie says in another video that a band needs a member like Ron. A sort of pleeser, yes. And what about Charlie himself. Dead honest. Never admitting being a rockstar. Always keeping his head cool; he acts as he is dressed. Theres several intervius to watch with those two together. They obviously liked one another very much. Nice to see.
The Stones first need a more involved and efficient guitarist.
I was at the Shine a Light show, second balcony. I was so far away that when Christina Aguilera (1:26) came on I thought, "Wow, Pam Anderson sure can sing!"
You too Ronnie, of course.👋❤🔊🔊🎼🎼🌅👋
Charlie is great!
R.I.P.✝❤❤☮☮
Love that Charlie's the one mentioning Jack White for the Shine A Light gigs when Ronnie forgets him!
Nice jacket Charles!
rip charlie
What a contrast between these two...Charlie, the laconic drummer, and Woody, the fidgeting, can't-stay-still-for-a-second guitar man. It's a great push-pull dynamic between the two of them.
Gotta get that BOOK!!!
~I so luv these Bad Boys!!!
The best band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come back to Porto Alegreeeeee!!!!!
I love this.
What an impressive history...well done lads.
Charlie is the rock of the band and has been from the start...a fact that everybody from Mick on down acknowledges.
Appear less years the rolling stones forever!!!
everybody want to SEE YOU ALL! I just wanna feel that 50 years of......waterever you can call it....music, please!
Well, I got the book, and it was even better than I'd even hoped! I know, I know: I'm a few years behind, but better late than never! In any case, if you ain't got your copy yet, get it soon cuz it's worth it! Just love the photos, but especially the playbills(?) and assorted memorabilia which, as a collector, I can tell you is priceless in some cases--assuming one could find it all, but we live and hope! Got my ya-yas and I'm thrilled! Thanks for "listening"! Best to all!😄 😁 😊 ☺ 😆
Nice job on this film, perfect production!
ŻYCZĘ W DALSZYM CIAGU TAKIEGO WIGORU ,POZDRAWIAM SERDECZNIE I DZIEKUJĘ ZA WSPANIAŁY REPERTUAR !!!!!
Great Video! Book-Best.
Especially Charlie going home from work.
Yess a friend & guitarplayer rent me that book, on the day (28-07-2012) we performed "midnight Rambler" with our little Blues-Rock-Band! I hope they use their time and record new songs. The Bandmembers are looking better than in the last 2 years.
Charlie its very super S🌟T🌟A🌟R..❤🌅🌏🌅. Thank you Charlie Watts everythings.😔🕯❤🕊🕊🕊🎼
Ronnie looks more handsome here than 40 years ago
Awesome!
Looooove my boys! ❤️💙
So typical of Ronnie to approach this with his constant humor, which I think must be so uplifting for the whole band. And Charlie is makes you smile without trying to to. So lucky to have been at the last 3 shows in London and get the ONLY water bottle Mick threw to the audience!
Nice people. 🍻
very nice
Nice furniture !! looks comfy :)
I am lcanmake!
,
I really loving Rolling Stones!
,
I want to see Rolling Stones!
,
This is my dream!
,
charlie & ron seen to have a bond
these two and Bil when he was active member l are the sticking glue, that can manage with the super egos of the glimmer twins
More and more reminiscing for the Stones ànd us, who grew up with them.
At 0:19 Watts mentions the famous flatbed truck tour announcement was his idea. He remembered that Jazz bands up in Harlem used to ride around during the day, performing on the backs of trucks, in order to promote that evening’s concert.
Charlie was directly involved in stage design with Jagger. He was a graphic designer before integrated the Stones.
My fab Stones:
1 Charlie Watts
2 Keith Richards
3 Bill Wyman
4 Mick Taylor
5 Mick Jagger
6 Ronnie Wood
7 Brian Jones
My Fab Album:
Exile...
My fab period:
Early 70s
Yes! it had no lid and I had to carry it back to my hotel in my pocket so I would not spill the water left in it. It is now sealed in am glass bottle withn a secure seal so as to not evaporate. The bottle is beside it with my other Stones treasures: Signed playlist given to my daughters in 97,a signed picture by most of the whole band,a set list thrown to me from Lisa in Regina, 4 picks from various shows, copies of a magazine with my photos of the band on front&back cover, etc...
Happy Fitty! Charlie Cool Ass Watts. The backbone & the other " real" rebel next to Keef. Ronnie has held his role nicely, but it's Charlie & Keef that are the bookends. Love when he talks. Keep On Rolling.
To me, Charlie is the oly interesting one to hear from the band. Keith, Mick and even Ronnie are so locked into their reputations that it's almost a mirage of the individual. Charlie seems genuine and the only one who never really (apart from a slip in the '80's) listened to all of the hype. He never swam deeper than he felt he could go. That's why he's who he is and they are who they are.
stevedrums ????? HUH ????? What a theory! I think you made it up while you were typing it. I do that a lot, too.
Mee too
🎆👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤
ya niñitos se acabó la hora de revisar la nostalgia ahora vamos a ir a cambiarnos los pañales para irse acostar hasta mañana
✌️
На лицах прожитые годы..Лихие годы!
tanto rispetto...
true
Actually, I HAVE given Charlie another go, having just finished Keith's biography, "Life," and I have gained a lot of respect for the drumming that Keith calls "the bed I lie on."
Ronnie would make a gr8 clown!!! :D
"And Jack White"
Legend says that Charlie is still saying it
Think of it this way too: maybe the mirage and reps act as shields to keep prying eyes away from the people they want to be. Mick has certainly said as much in the interviews that he's given. Keith, I get the impression just doesn't care anymore, provided that he ever did. Ronnie always strikes me as the guy who wants everybody to be happy. Charlie is just...Charlie. I never can shake the impression how much he genuinely loathes the spotlight.
I have all the music, I just want more interviews no matter how trivial they seem to you blokes.
Without Charlie Watts there is no Stones. If he passes away (heaven forbid) it would be the end of the Rolling Stones.
"Agwoolera"
Ronnie seems to fit more than Brian or Mick.
No wonder Charlie bowed out. Poor guy can't even turn a page.
You're right there, doesn't look like he's on the page...it's possible Charlie mentions Jack White because he's not on the page (it looks like he goes to point to Mick thinking he's Jack, then realizes halfway through and say's Jack's name slightly under his breath)
If you really listen to Charlie its very dry Sence of humour but he's a funny guy ,and woody seems like he'd be a blast to be around
I'd really like to know where Ronnie got that coat.
Honest to God, Harrison, right? Just saw my tenth ever show, think 8th tour since first in '81 in Detroit when I was 16, at HP Pavillion in San Jose last Wednesday night, and to answer your question ("You gotta wonder how they do it"), they just MIGHT have made a deal with that Fallen Angel, offereed up some Sympathy and some Taste.
How else to explain these 67-72 year old ex heroin, coke, crack and alcohol addicts (to say naught of cigarettes) still flat kicking ASS live?
Enjoyed $85 ticks.
The world has been having enough time with the fact that Keith Richards is still alive...you honestly expect them to face the above fact any easier?
I agree with what you said, but as I read your comment, the thought of Charlie having the (self-proclaimed) worst heroin problem of the bunch created some interference- unless that is what you were referring to when you said he had a hype slip in the 80s... ?
Is Ron wood permanently stoned?
Hathaway Alfred YES!
Hes Rolling Stoned
Yes, rolling stoned
Inappropriate comments. Reason being: NOB.....If nothing nice to add, why say anything?
I don't know what to make of Those Two. Watched clip a few times. Guys look a bit tired, Do Be sure You're Getting Ample Rest. Must be around Lunchtime
I think that Mick and Keith know that too on a gut level. That cancer scare that Charlie had in the mid-2000s propelled a lot of the energy that they put into "A Bigger Bang".
Keith has always acknowledged Charlie's importance, saying that without him, it's a different band. He also called "A Bigger Bang" Charlie's finest hour and I'm inclined to agree.
I don't think these guys give death the middle finger. It's been too big a part of their story (check out the track from "Goat's Head Soup" "Dancing with Mr. D" if you don't believe me). No, I think they just take the Baron Samedi approach to death: enjoy your life to the fullest because one day, it's going to be gone.
But, yeah, even with that, you DO wonder how they do it!
Hey, look at it this way. At least Mick and Ronnie never went for plastic surgery!
But do you like Ronnie more than Mick Taylor?
disagree think charlies reserved
its funny but Charlie...the guy who never dyed his hair or wore age inappropriate clothing now actually looks youngest .... mike and ronnie need to ease up on the just for men
Metronome?? Sorry but give a better listen. He knew how to change it up and move in another direction as good as any drummer. Yes! He could keep time but skip, shuffle and pound without missing a beat or drawing attention to himself. From Paint it Black, Jumping Jack Flash, Midnight Rambler, Can't you hear me knockin, Miss You to Emotional rescue, you can't find a better drummer.
God,those photos are awful.
