Just like in most art, music history is all important. These new artists can build on the knowledge of the greats before them just like the bands of the 60s and 70s learned from the amazing jazz and blues players that they idolized. No form of art lives in a vacuum. Celebrate the past and learn from it. And Roaming Gnome....seems like you learned quick. Took a tragedy and turned it in to a joyful life. That's something to celebrate.
My old college roommate in Colorado was from Chestnut Hill and he used to see Aerosmith when they were playing at a roadhouse in New Hampshire. One cold rainy night when I had an exam to study for he dragged me to Tulagis to see some chick singer I'd never heard of who turned out to be Bonnie Raitt. Now I am thinking how sweet to hear Allison cover one of Bonnie's songs.

I’m 70 years old. One of my earliest memories is from when I was 3 years old. It is a memory of the street where I lived in in Cardiff, Wales, UK. Every woman in the street was wearing headscarves like yours and also huge shoulder scarves which doubled as shopping bags or baby carriers. Love your various vintage looks.
Every time I see you sing, it takes my breath away. Such a beautiful woman with an incredibly beautiful voice! How is it that you aren't making millions and someone like Cardi B or Miley Cyrus is?? It's like we have somehow found ourselves in an alternate universe, where somehow, everything has gone wrong. Keep making music. Maybe it will lead us back to the universe we belong in.
What a delightful find on this 2023 Thanksgiving day! You have such talent. Praying it takes you far. This is music from my era, so extra points for that. Also, I played the uke and the Omnichord, so extra points for both of those. I'm happy this video popped up for me.
It's important for people to understand how much work goes into making a video like this. Allison has to film multiple parts for the instrumentation, for the backing vocals, for the clapping, for the whistling (x2), and so forth. And there will likely have to be multiple takes because mistakes happen. Then she has to edit and mix the music it all together. And then she has to edit the videos all together. It probably took many, many hours to make just an almost four minute video. It's a great payoff, but it's a lot of work. Allison: Regarding your lack of oxygen at the end, you did increase the tempo of the song from Buddy Holly's version, so that is the likely major contributing factor. Amazing cover, regardless, and thanks for all the work you put into this.

Every woman in the street was wearing headscarves like yours and also huge shoulder scarves which doubled as shopping bags or baby carriers. Love your various vintage looks.
Linda voz maravilhosa parabéns 👏 👏👏👏😍
Thank you for making me feel that I'm not the only one young girl who got stuck in 50s and 60s ❤🌸
PS you are adorable
Not a bad time and place to get stuck in. I remember my 50's childhood with affection.
Oh, and yes, she is adorable!
The amount of serotonin i got from this. 💖🥺
Beautiful.....and so was the song ! Love Buddy....
She's so talented. Even words come out when she claps
In what way? She sings and plays ukulele... If that is talent for you, you're very sad.
@@achogahba1704 well I mean many "professional" singers today can't even sing so....
@@productions4452 Yes I know. But making a cover on youtube doesn't show any talent... Many people can sing, it's not that special.
@@achogahba1704 you being so serious is somewhat you being sad
@@achogahba1704 Talent is subject to judgement and personal preference. If you didn't observe that on these modern times, you're missing out
This girl is a refreshing change of pace from the mainstream singers of today.
😒
So much personality in her face, and so talented. Hope you make all your dreams reality
What a delightful find on this 2023 Thanksgiving day! You have such talent. Praying it takes you far.
This is music from my era, so extra points for that. Also, I played the uke and the Omnichord, so extra points for both of those. I'm happy this video popped up for me.
Cute as a button! Makes me happy people like this still exist. x
Really nice. Pretty rendition, very Buddy Holly-ish. He would approve.
Yes she recorded it Pomlamoose style
@@visaman Nice reference. Yeah, Pomplamoose made those--what Jack Conte called Videosongs--over 10 years ago and I'm fairly certain were the first to do it on RUclips where they record and splice together all the individual live performances into one video.
Pomplamoose is still great, of course, but I do miss those old videos they used to make. They weren't particularly cost effective, though. It's why Jack made Patreon, after all.
@@ascetic3312 Yes I have been following them for that long. Since Mr. Sandman at least. I found them after Ysabella Brave stopped making videos.
@@visaman Nice. I'm unfamiliar with Ysabella. Will have to look her up.
Edit: Just looked her up. Seems she uploaded a new video just four weeks ago. Seems she made a new channel years ago. Maybe she got locked out of her old one.
@@ascetic3312 yes please do she was one of the Pioneer youtubers in 2006 to 2011. She was written up in the book RUclips For Dummies. Her cover songs were taken down at RUclips's request in 2009, but she has since put them back online. I just mentioned her to show the progression in RUclips video quality over the years. We were good friends and then had a falling out, but her videos still stand up today. ruclips.net/user/ysabellabrave
This is her most popular video from 2007 ( just when Pomplamoose were starting)

Rainbows and lollipops coming your way with this truly rendition of a classic. You go girl!
Great song, great cover, great voice. Thanks for sharing.
