THE BYGONES ARE GOING ON TOUR! TICKETS: thebygonesband.com/Shows
Yes! We will see you in St. Louie in April. We're so excited.
I just listened to the original, and I must say that I genuinely prefer your cover.
No planned tours in France or Germany?
Both are amazing. Even more amazing together.
Its about time. Can't wait. Marvelous!
I'm 79 years old and as the old song says, my "days are dwindling down to a precious few". I feel so good about passing on the chain of life to creative young talented people like these two. I love RUclips. I taught myself to play piano from RUclips. (Big bucket list item) Everyday I learn some philosophy, science, and more on RUclips. I love to feed my brain new facts. For fun, I watch some comedy clips like 30-Rock. But I think good music gives me the most comfort. For a few minutes I can transcend all my cares and worries and be 100% in the moment. I have over a 1000 saved music videos in my library. My absolute favorites are: Josh Turner, Allison Young, Reina del Cid, Toni Lindgren, and Carson McKee. Their covers are always better than the originals. When they team up, the results are sublime.
Check out the Fendertones. You will not be disappointed.
Agreed, Barry. In my 70s as well and I love RUclips. I travel the world, climb mountains, learn things and listen to great music via this marvel of technology. Josh and his friends give me some of the greatest joy in this regard. And who wouldn't love Allison's dreamy voice!
Right? I'm 61, and I adore these youngsters' music.
❤
From whom did you take piano lessons on youtube?
Allison & Josh are absolutely adorable. Josh delivered a perfect bass line. Allison played the nose cazoo & provided a great rhythm with the leg claps. What a beautiful voice Allison has. Perfect setting & even the birds seemed to be trying to get into the act as they performed background sounds. A masterpiece of delight! Thank you.
"...and even the birds"! When you're so into it and talented nature turn into a Disney movie!
I was getting ready to think that.
Will the birds get credit and royalties
They did a great job, Josh and friends are the best, listen too em non stop
Allison's voice is amazing. She and Josh together have that perfect 1940s sound. She puts me in mind of a solo Andrews Sister!
Josh Turner, perhaps the first young musician to get really popular because older folks adore him and his musicianship. Thanks for making music that makes us all happy.
Was this a compliment? :))))
@@TaistoUuslail Of course it was…. This generation hardly produces ANY good music
@@acousticsong-guitarco964you need to look past what the radio plays if you believe that 😂
Such an old person that doesn't try to find new music take lol@@acousticsong-guitarco964
It was nice of that 60's group to write this song for Allison and Josh.
Yeah, it seems like they wrote songs for thousands and thousands of others ... too bad they never gave it a go themselves! 😎
Seems to me that it's mostly other artists who write Allison and Josh's best material.
did that 60s group do any good?
That music bunch gave it a bit of a go for a few years.
I think they went by the name of The Bundles? or The Bottles?
@@BobTaile originally the Silver (or gold maybe) bottles, I think.
Never, never did I dream in a million years, that I when this song was new in 1968, I'd be watching youngsters like y'all in 2024 do cover versions on my very own (not yet invented in 68) laptop computer. Life is a strange trip going in slow motion. The white album was/is probably my favorite Beatle LP.
I love the gull that they trained to fly by and sing along with them right before the line about the boat sailing back across the sea! That takes real dedication.
Gulls are notoriously difficult to train. But Allison charmed them into submission.
4 years ago, when I heard Allison sing Patsy Cline’s Crazy, I knew she had something special. Congratulations young lady. What a voice!
I like her too. "Crazy" is Willie Nelson's.
I still love going back to that one
Josh playing Beatles is always great!
2:46 It’s all been said already, but I have to say it again, I’m totally blown away by the incredible talent of this duo. Thanks guys
One year ago tonight, Feb 16 2023, my wife and I were at Third Man Records in Nashville to witness the Bygones' first official concert together under that name. We got to meet each of them and talk for a minute or so! After seeing dozens each of their videos over the years, it was amazing to actually be face to face and converse! Unforgettable.
Wish I was there
That made this old baby boomer happy. I hope Paul McCartney heard that.
Now that's commitment to your art! Travelling to the North of England purely to record this song!
Stunning performance as always guys 🤩🤩
Waiting for the David Bennet x Josh Turner collab now 🤞
Hey David !!!! There's only one guy, and he's in the company of a very pretty singer
They talked at their Leeds show about how much they loved Robin Hood's bay and seeing the North of England on the way down from Scotland 😍
@@zecisalpin Most English-speakers use it interchangeably with explicitly gender-neutral terms like 'folks'. No-one likes a pedant.
@@pifko87 I'd love to see that!
They never disappoint. If it's Josh & Allison, it's another gem.
Alison´s voice has a golden timbre, amazing performance of both 💞
Josh’s amazing talent never ceases to amaze us, and Allison has a golden voice. The flying bird interlude added a special spontaneous touch, never to be repeated. Congrats!
Nature approves of this duo!
that pidgeon was priceless!
Are they married?
@@JackpotMike77 he is, his wife Kelly is behind the camera
Perfect way to end the week - Allison's fantastic singing, Josh's playing, and two people clearly having a blast working together. Thank you.
Oh Joy! An official announcement forming a new duo. I've always loved Allison's and Josh's duets and look forward to many years of musical excellence!
2:02 How perfect was that seagull flying by! Awesome cover!
What a WONDERFUL Rendition of a Paul McCartney Classic! I Hope Sir Paul gets to hear this!!! Couldn’t have been simpler or more fun. Allison has a picture perfect voice and sound for this song. The ukulele was a great fit and well played Josh! Your bass bum bums, and her thigh slapping made this rendition a complete Joy to watch and hear!!!
I was in High School when the White Album was released. Some 55 years later, “The ByGones” record a Fresh and Entertaining take on this Song! I smiled ALL the through!!! BRAVO Josh and Allyson!!! 👏👏👏🥳
You guys are like a modern day Les Paul and Mary Ford or Gene Kelly and Judy Garland or Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, etc... I love that you're keeping this tradition going and doing such a great job of it with song selection and performance. I wish I could subscribe again.
Yay! The world needs more Josh and Allison 🥳
The world needs more Beatles!
This is absolutely phenomenal! Allison's golden voice, Josh's vocal bass line, the playing, the little background effects and vocals. Such a fun cover!
If you like this, you should have a listen to the original by these four lads from Liverpool.
@@craigphillips6308 Of course! I am a HUGE Beatles fan!
The Bygones! How clever! Josh and Allison are a dynamic duo. Excellent.
Imagine being this talented
Stop imagining, start practicing
Allison has one of the best voices I've ever heard, she'll be a superstar before you know it
Love it! Speaking as a Brit, I can say you hit the characteristic combination of whimsy and arch humour beautifully! Undercutting yourself can be tremendous fun and is an antidote to many more serious kinds of folly (like taking yourself too seriously).
This is one of the best covers of that song I have heard . I am a long time Beatles fan .. and I must confess play the uke , you two did a wonderful rendition .. more please !!!!
I love that this collab has become an official band! Congrats 💍🥳
Very artistic and beautiful.
Most Beatles covers disappoint, but this one is great! Mouth bass and female voices are perfect for this song. Applause from Hokkaido, Japan.
A song people love to hate from the Beatles' white album, however I've always loved it 💕💗 Great job. This duo NEEDED to happen.
Holy crap that was wonderful. The background, the arrangement, the production, the seagulls... holy crap!
It's a pure joy listening and watching you perform this beautiful song. Thank you very much to both of you, you are wonderful 🎶🙏
And LIVE TONIGHT in Richmond, VA!! Can hardly wait!!!!! 🎶
Anything thing like this that (I'd say) has a jazz feel to it is absolute magic from these two. Doesn't get better. Josh's instrumentals are incredible, better than top notch (and sings well too), and Allison has a jazz voice that is simply jaw dropping gorgeous.
Been waiting for Josh to do his take on this particular song since I discovered the channel 7 years ago.
Honey Pie was made to be covered by Josh. I won’t say I expected Allison, ukulele, leg percussion, mouth bass, and a seagull solo, but on the other hand, I expected nothing less.
An official duo! Hopefully you two make it out to Toronto some time.
Brilliant! You both sing as you breathe - naturally.
Never doubt the importance of your work. Your sweet energy and beautiful music are just what we need in these difficult times. A thousand thanks and deepest appreciation!
I'm a drummer, but I would think singing a bass line while playing a ukulele is difficult. Good stuff as always, Josh.
The bird solo at 2:05 was amazing. 😉
it's almost like the wind kindly blew the bird back to them right before she mentioned it.
Just think of how he plays Graceland and sings over it! ruclips.net/video/NtYKjQLgnOs/видео.html
This is studio recorded and lip-synched for the video. No way to get that pickup from their distance that cleanly. It sounds great though.
@@wildkeith what if the mic gain was turned up to pick up things from.. I mean they're only like a few feet away lol compression helps too. Josh is also a pretty good musician and bumming notes on the down beat while strumming isn't that hard. I don't think the bird sounds were added in production but this is just my theory.
@@bruce_daddy Turning the gain up turns everything else up, including noise. There's only so much to push with sound to noise ratio realistically. I think they blended the bird in for fun from the on location recording. When they're talking at the end you can hear a huge amount of noise that wasn't in the main mix. That's my take at least. There's no shame in it though. Really just a warning for any aspiring musicians thinking they can copy this fidelity.
That was a joy to watch and hear❤ I could lay on a couch all day and listen to Allison and Josh
A pure little gem !! 💜 I love all of it : the feeling that there is a whole orchestra behind you, the vintage touch, the lady's sweet voice, the scenery, the boboboom...
Thank you so much !
Great news! Two outstanding musicians working together. And what great performance!
I just noticed that when Josh sings his solo verse & goes into a very high Tinny Tim like verse the birds fly overhead & go nuts! This cut is just too much! Very cool. A wonderful balance of great music, vocals, improvised instruments & humor. This is an amazing cut whereby these guys are so diverse they never fail to keep it fresh & full of surprises. They make it sound like it was written for a ukulele. It is so complete in it's simplicity and yet there is so much that makes me want to hear it over & over again .
Makes the original sound over-produced. The Bygones' version has everything it needs.
Another winner by the fabulous Josh and Allison! (even the birds love it)👋👋👋👋👋👋
1:48 you hit that “I like that” perfectly!!!! lol
I love the old songs and this one is terrific done by you two. I love your music.
Another great example of why you don't let Allison play instruments during her performances. She way too talented as a performer. She IS the instrument! We enjoy every bit of that.
What a sweet treat! Allison just slides easily into these retro tunes and does a very credible nose clarinet, to boot. Very well done - beautifully performed and so much fun to watch.
67-year old man here, smiling ear to ear. Thanks for that wonderful performance!
Steve
Exquisite ! So brillant, so much talent, both of you ! Thanks !
I absolutely love the purity of Allison’s voice. It fits this song perfectly. And Josh I’m just a huge fan! I watch all your videos. You are SO talented and versatile with both your voice and your instrument playing. Also enjoy the creativity you use for every cover. Please keep them coming!!
Bro’s pitch accuracy on those low bass notes is amazing! That’s harder than it looks
Why are you calling him "Bro?" His name isn't Bro. It's Josh.
@@TheVeek192 oh, please
I believe it! ..And it already looked insanely difficult to me.
OMG. The sound, the musicality and the joy. Absolutely awesome.
Have you ever seen a more stunning smile than Allison's. This girl is just drop dead gorgeous 😍
One of my favorite 'mini' Beatles songs. Sounds great.
Generational talents, man. He's on another level and she's somewhere beyond that. Wild.
Did they write this song?
@@craigphillips6308 They didn't. But what they create here is a charming combination of youth, spirit and talent. Noone can take it away from them. Don't you think?
@@craigphillips6308 No, this is a famous Beatles song from the White Album.
@Zsolt Homonnai That is ultimately what keeps Josh from making it in the big time. He is a sensational musician, but he doesn't really write much music, at least to my knowledge.
@@hasselett how much music have you written ?
I absolutely adore your Beatles covers. Your performances convey a deep respect for the original songs while still adding your own unique touch, thanks to your and your friends' incredible talent.
❤❤❤ best version EVER!!!
A true delight to listen to and watch! The talented duo making the music are obviously fantastic, but I wanted to give a shout-out to Kelly’s videography, too - wonderful as always!
Well done y’all! Love it The Bygones! 😊❤😊
How refreshing. The two of you are wonderful together.
This is just so dang pleasant! Enjoy every minute and it just makes me smile!
Watching this just set the biggest smile on my face, amazing!
I just LOVE you two!!
Can’t wait to see and hear all the great things to come from The Bygones!
So love this! Tapping my feet. Woohoo!
Delighted that you guys have officially formed a duet! I've been hoping for this for a long time. You guys are so good together. I look forward to lots of albums in the future!
Brilliant, and her voice is so perfect for this song
I had a smile on my face the whole time. Simply enchanting!
You make really difficult things look and sound simple. Lovely vocals and amazing uke work.
Always wanted the both of you to sing this one, never would've guessed that'd actually happen! Very creative and refreshing
AHHHHHHHH SO wonderfullllll
So many wonderful things going on...Loved it.
Magic!! Truly amazing art. Your ensemble cast of brilliant musicians previously unknown (at least to me) group of vocalists and instrumentalists with the panoramic spectrum of instruments, musical genres and global locations perform flawlessly in front of condenser mic or theater full of fans!! Thank you all!! I am so grateful that I found you all. Please, keep ‘em coming!!
Mr. Seagull came in clutch at 2:01, you really couldn't script a better timed and pitched caw. Cosmic stuff great job!
I can't stop revisiting this clip time after time, I love the simplicity, the smoothness and swing in Allison's voice and Josh's creative accompaniment, one of my favourite from Josh and company.
That bird flying over head just at the right time, perfect!
Of course you play the ukulele like an absolute boss. I started playing that fantastic little thing when my daughter was born. She's seven now, and I can hammer out a bunch of Disney songs and a few Beatles tunes, but man you sound good. I really appreciate how you're able to play any style on various instruments and sound just like the original. Please keep it coming!
Only 1 word: FANTASTIC!
Bet Paul would say bloody fantastic.
One of my greatest shortcomings in life is that I honestly forget of the top- shelf music this man and his friend bring with every video. Always. Always a joy to listen to. Thank you!
This has always been one of my favorite songs by them, and this is absolutely lovely.
Awesome! Absolutely love it! You guys knock it out of the park again! Can’t wait for the full CD! Happy New Year, kids!
Very beautiful!!!!
Simply gorgeous, thank you.X
Beautiful beyond words. Love these two.
you guys are so ridiculously talented my god
She has an amazing voice and is beautiful to boot.
Theses two are Just incredible 🤩
Fantastic version, delightful.
Love it!!
This is perfect. So excited for more of The Bygones!
Fantastic !! All is great : the voices, the sound, the "atmosphere", the fun, ...
The versatility in repertoire of these youngsters continues to astound & amaze me!
Allison your voice is marvelous.. both are wonderful artist and musicians.
Beautiful!
Even the birds sound on the spot. Beautiful rendition.
