    I love everything about this. Specifically your level of care and professionalism in your preparation. Honestly makes all the difference.

    Mad respect man. I have no idea how you managed to study all these songs and play them _exactly_ as "written." That's very commendable. I don't know if I could do that. I'm en route to getting good at music, but that level of detail would be stressful for me to shoot for (and it doesn't leave me much wiggle room, but I could be wrong about that).
    Very professional, very prepared, and mad respect.

      I don’t do that for most gigs, but in this case with tracks and an album release it made a lot of sense to get as close as possible.

    Back again. Just wanted to watch a little more, enjoyed your system of creating a rehearsal session in logic here. I do this for my theater gig here in Myrtle Beach and it is most helpful for myself and the band!

    Love this! One question, if you scan into dropbox can you create a library and then create "playlists" for the charts for a specific gig?

    • @malonedrum
      @malonedrum  Год назад

      That’s a feature you could do on an app like ForScore, which I use a lot, but Dropbox is really just for file management

  • @M0M...

    You should try using an apple pencil when charting! It helped me so much, plus you can use different colors/highlights. And also, annoying erasing stops being a thing lol

    Great vid, Mike. As a drum student I'm curious: Did Brady hire a whole backing band for the gig or just drums? Is that more economical for the touring artist or how does that work? Thanks.

    Love the sound on that board mix! Great tip on putting the whole set in Logic with clicks! I started using Good Notes on the iPad for charts - something like this if you're interested - ruclips.net/video/9vBvT45526o/видео.html

      That's a cool app, I should look into it. I always enjoy writing them on paper, but now that I have the newer apple pencil, Im sure a good app would work fine.

  • @nannernator

    fantastic video. I love it - I used "reaper' to cut up my tracks and to mark them cuz it's free and I use "good notes" on the iPad. Goodnotes enables me to chart very quickly {my charting is very similar to yours except for the ipad part} Just because in my given situation, arrangements are always changing on the fly. sometimes I have to double up on the chorus or delete a turnaround after the first chorus - etc. my video may not be as well produced but I certainly hope it can give you options / tools for charting in the future. plus - i love how i can store all my charts in the cloud and can download onto my iphone when I'm in the green room just in case i'm not sure about the arrangement. Thank you for your inspiring videos!
