Hi Trip, great vid. Hey trying to decide between the Lopez glider and the Takayama Prince Kuhio. What’s your thoughts please. I mainly surf longer waves in northern NSW Australia.

The Gerry Lopez has a tucked edge in the tail like a Hawaiian Pro Designs/Donald Takayama. So it’s generally user friendly and won’t catch an edge like traditional gliders ala Skip Frye. In a 10’6” I really enjoy putting in a True Ames Greenough 4c (not to be mistaken for a Greenough 4a which has a wider base with more rake). I usually surf my gliders more laid back. Turn slower and set your trim line.

How is the turning ability vs a more traditional longboard shape. I surf a small semi punchy beach break typically between 2 to 4 foot on average and usually ride a 12 foot munoz super glide which has tons of rocker but these look fairly flat in comparison. Would one of these still work? The 10'6 appeals to me I love big boards but wondering if the 9'6 would be better the better option with the straighter profile . Ive been eyeing these Lopez models since they came out but surftech recently came out with the 10'6 munos glide, now im torn lol, its a tough call .

What’s it like to turn ? , easy enough to step back and whip it around or too much rail in the water for that ? , I get it’s a glider but just curious on the turning ability

Skip Frye, self-proclaimed "fin man", has always advocated less fin.

I ride the True Ames Skip Frye fin on my glider and it turns so sweet.

It's a barge. It's a long board. Hard to turn, and do off the lips, aerials, etc.

It's a Turbo Tanker for wave hogs and their friends. I like it.
