I actually just found some of these headlights in the back of the shop. I think I scored big especially now that I have headlights to go on to my 74 c10 lol
Just know if 84 and older we are bound to use sealed beam headlights per Federal DOT code.. I would so love to upgrade my lights, but cannot afford to pay tickets, or to have some cop tell me to park it and walk away... I put one on my bike though, and would love some on my GS, but the Staters are pretty anal around here and got stopped for a green LED up front of my Yellow car showing my Packer pride and he was not amused... When researching the lighting amber/white only up front, found that code about upgrading lights.. Tossed an 86 cab on my K20 so could upgrade the lights.. So, install at your own risk, this is a Federal law.. Perhaps if you have lawyer friends, petition to have the code changed so we can have sufficient lighting... you can have 4 lights, so you could add a pair of LED driving lights as that is not altering your stock lighting.. is what I am going to do for my 69 GS...
Building a C30 1 ton. Bright light in the floor I'm having trouble getting the lights to work the harness is getting power to the witch. Not sure if the high beam switch in the floor is required as it's missing the button I have cab lights and dash lights but no headlights or parking lights. Need some help
Hmm. I bypassed the floor switch entirely, just left it there for another use if I felt like it later. My lights just run on a 3 way switch mounted to my dash panel.
Some lights have plug n play options, but even the ones that don't are just a matter of terminating a few wires. If your comfortable with basic 12v wiring, its totally doable.
Harley does not make the light, they buy them from the same manufacturer (JW Speaker). I don't believe this exact one is still available, but Speaker makes a few that are pretty similar. Just be aware that some are crowned (like this one, the regular shape for glass round lights), and others are about .25 taller and have a flat face on them. They will fit, but stick past the headlight housing.
@@REVJHD I was taking stuff out of the interior today and trying to figure out how to powder coat the window roll handles, lol. I'll figure it out eventually. thanks man! My truck was painted poorly but pretty close to the same color as yours and no matter what I drive I always end up just ditching the chrome...
@@CraftwerksMC If you do try and PC the interior handles, you may have to remove the knob itself. iirc its a bakelite type plastic that doesn't like the temps of a PC oven.
@@REVJHD Yeah I have a lathe so I was thinking of just removing them and making some replacements out of aluminum and anodizing them. The hardware is pretty rough, it has that stuff going on where there is corrosion under the plating so no harm with whatever I do to them. Thanks man!
Jerry. I got a extra set of chrome rings. Got rid of the buckets. Cut the rings so I would have 4 points on the headlight. The rings have two that mount On the bucket. And the spring. I got epoxy and mounted the rings to the lights. Didn't need much. I got a 1/4 Brake line and cut it about 1 5\8 depending on what worked. Ran a hole through the back double bucket and ran small bolts through the ring holes and Brake line pieces and out the back of the double bucket. Took a while to figure out. But they look awesome 👌. Good luck 👍 Hope i didn't make it hard to understand 🙏

I'm going to try and find something like this for my 70 C10.
what is the name of that color of blue that the truck is painted?
not a mechanic but curious if a novice could install LED headlights for 1986 chevy c10 Silverado or best leave to the pros please reply. Thanks

Just did it on my 1980 plug and play took 10mins
Can you give a link for the lights.Interested in buying them!!
I can't justify spending over 500 bux on my headlights but they are cool
Love the videos man I'm also building a 66 c10!!
nice What did you use to cut headlight buckets to fit new lights.
Rotary tool and body saw
Cool lights 👍🏻 you say they don’t make these anymore ? I will have to look around . Yes Harley makes a Headlight similar.

Man I really dig your C-10 and like the blue on black combo. I was just curious if it is paint, plastic-dip, or powder coat? Thanks!
All the blue is paint. Most of the black is painted but some pieces were powder coated (a few trim pieces, brake brackets, some inside stuff)

good job
What did you use to make the cut?
MAN why'd u cut those wires could have use those on my M35. Curious what is the lens material? Heard rumors some r actually glass.
The ones made by JW Speaker are glass lenses, at least when these were manufactured.
Link?
Looks great REV J. Do you have the part/model number for the headlights? Would love them on my '65 Stepside. #REBUILDEVERYTHING
I'll have to see if they have a part # stamped somewhere on the casing, I didn't see one when I put them in, though I wasn't really looking.
What do you do if you have a 1960-61 grill that have the quad lights ?
Buy 4? There would't be a difference aside from needing to have the wiring supply 4 lights instead of 2.
You need 5 3/4 set , they sell the 4 pack , check out amazon or ebay

Nice lights but they look like trash in the daytime.
LED lights are a downgrade to the old incandescent lights
