Don't think you can withdraw your annuity corpus even if you require funds. Any investment instrument that is not liquid cannot be considered to be a good investment option. I don't know why the financial consultants do not mention this while advocating annuity as a retirement option.

Good news for SBI customers who want to reinvest their existing FD at higher interest rate….. SBI withdrawn premature closure penalty of Fixed Deposits. Even NRE FD with less than one year will get full amount with full interest on premature withdrawal.

@@dadu251 It was a technical glitch in the internet banking of sbi. Now they are charging penalties with retrospective effect
