I was going to never buy a Logitech mouse again, thank god they turned this around. As a cash strapped gamer I’ve been using the G203 Lightsync for a good few years now and it’s been great and I’d recently been debating between Razers Orichi V2 or the G305 as an upgrade. I honestly think this came together in a board room between a ton of people just building off of a terrible idea, especially because corporate culture tends to have a lot of “yes” men and people who are scared to say how they really feel to company higher ups. The customer can always keep the company in check, it just takes enough people speaking out against it and refusing doing business. They saw the writing on the wall after announcing this horrendous idea 😭
I definitely thinks it’s a mixture of yes men and them floating the idea to the customer to see what the reception was. They’d have destroyed the business if they embraced it!
I think they saw the writing on the wall before they announced it, with the general sentiment toward subscription services on the decline across the board. They just decided to go through with it anyway.
It’s whether they’d do it to provide value or whether they’d do it for greed to extract money from those that would buy one mouse and be done. Also gives them an excuse not to produce new models or a wider variety of products.
@NicholasLatipi yeah. You can't really apply a subscription based service to a peripheral that people buy based on shape, size, weight and tech that is hardware based. And in the case of mice, the tech is constantly evolving.
I am done with Logitech. I went back to Razer the Orochi V2 is my prefer shape and the Bluetooth option was a big plus to switch devices it replaces my g305. I even bought Razer kiyo X it is a reliable webcam and was on sale.
Might have been a clever way to get some feedback without actually making it a thing...or the CEO just screwed up! Either way it is good that they got proper feedback. I do think people overacted a bit thinking this was actually an official product. Maybe because of RUclips reviewers and their click-bait titles. I call sheep abuse!
Thank god they U turned. This would have been the beginning of the end for Logitech and the most stupid business decision ever. Not sayin the CEO is bad at her job, but if she ran through with this she would have been insanely stupid. No one, and I mean no one asked for this crap. Completely lost focus on what people want, talking gaming industry here. But I am more than happy they are not going through with this. Also, GPX number 16 arrived. BTW if you are into "GPX like" mice I HIGHLY recommended testing the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Wireless. Been maining this for almost 2 months and its insanely underrated. The Shape, the clicks ❤ the Sensor...almost gonna say it replaces the GPX for me and I spend a shit load of money on my former main mouse which is the GPX. Also wanna point out I had NO problems with any DPI switching randomly, or anything. Instantly installed the latest firmware and the Haste is ready to go. Absolute Banger!!!
You've amassed quite the collection! The Haste 2 is on the list, it hits sales quite often on Amazon, so I'll pick one up the next time it does! Ty. Yeah it was a madness even considering a subscription model! I wish they'd put more thought and time into bringing out new mice.
Gotta have the GPX in all colors even if I main the Haste 2 Wireless right now. Also, the latest Batches of GPX2 have way lighter clicks now. Still tactile yet more spamable. Really good. But the clicks in the Haste 2 are something else. The original Haste had TTC Gold and the Haste 2 has HyperX switches. But I guess since those are also rated 100mio clicks and are dust proof and people say they feel like TTC Gold I guess they are. Just "rebranded".
I really think Logitech is focusing more on the productivity/office side than they are gaming at this point. The gaming segment is so far behind the competition that it isn't even funny, and the only reason they updated the 502 is because it was the best selling mouse for the better part of a decade. Other companies have come in with even better ideas and different designs that are starting to make even the 502 irrelevant. The gaming keyboards are a joke at this point. Unless they come up with a way of completely revolutionizing that, they'd be better off pulling out of the gaming space all together. They lost this segment years ago by not innovating along with the likes of Razer, Steelseries, and Corsair, not to mention the plethora of custom keyboards that have exploded onto the market in recent years.
It's almost like all these subscriptions that absolutely no one but the dumbest of rich people would buy, are ridiculous and no one wants to spend money on it. They form an idea around a wealthy persons habits or ability and wonder why it never translates well to the mass consumer. They, are, detached.
Their new product lines were a good indication that they’re completely off the pulse of what their audience wants. They’ll have to course correct otherwise they’re going to be older news than they already are.

I mean to their credit, it is definitely a unique outside of the box idea. But it would never work with mice.
It’s whether they’d do it to provide value or whether they’d do it for greed to extract money from those that would buy one mouse and be done.

@RestlessGeckoReviews oh for sure there are absolutely financial incentives behind the idea. I am just glad it got squashed
that's more like outside the box and into the trash bin idea.

Maybe the Logitech lady should have asked her secretary what a mouse is even for

The Kiyo X is a great webcam, got it on a deep sale on Amazon too.
@@RestlessGeckoReviews agree quality is improving for razer as of late with decent price

What annoyed me was that they put out the bait, got the clicks, but never went out and corrected the record with a new video.
