just got me 30i's ecu remapped for £295 taking it up to 310 bhp... put it in sport plus, and sport auto, and YO!!! plus my new launch is 0-60 in 4.7s
Where'd you get it remapped bro?
I have a 428i with the m suspension and I’m super impressed it is fast enough, good looking, fuel efficient and spacious even though is a 2 door.
I want the z4 but now i know it has the same engine i lost some motivation.
Great review can’t wait to get mine, from my test drive I thought the exhaust sounded pretty good but then again my current car is a seat Ibiza so most would sound better

Great review. I have that car - same model, colour and all the options - and your comments are spot on - cup holders are rubbish, door bins hopeless but…who cares?! It’s a lovely lovely thing to drive and makes me smile every time. Makes a lot of other people smile too which is nice. I have never had so many people say nice things about it. The Boxter is a far better ‘sports car’ but I wasn’t after that and the Z4 gives me exactly what I wanted. I could have had the 40 (previous car was an M240) but opted for the 30 - 130kg lighter and less nose heavy with the shorter engine (straight 6 hangs over the front axle as the wheelbase in this is shorter than the 2 series). Not true. I have the m40 and the engine is behind the front axle. It's front mid engine setup. And the i4 isn't that much lighter the 150lbs saved is spread over a decent area and not just one single hot spot on the engine. Believe me the handling doesn't suffer in the m40i especially with the M adaptive suspension
@@davidt8087 Understood and thank you. I have met someone with an M40 and they have offered a test drive. If you’re right - and I hope you are - then I will upgrade when I replace the current Z4. The straight 6 is a lovely lovely thing !

OMG I was just thinking about this car! I remember when I reviewed the 318i Sport after that there was a Z4 M40i beside I thought about it I don't think I can afford the V6 (and taxes here are expensive) but I am definitely considering the 2.0L. Thank you so much for this review!

Would you say its too firm a ride....or soft enough to be very comfortable?
@@pulldpin67 there is a Comfort Mode, which provides adequate power to zip through traffic, while smoothing out the ride nicely. 😄

No I can’t remember but it definitely wasn’t bad!! You only live once! Do it. 👍🏻
How was the noise with the roof up on highway? Is this car okay for long cruise times?
Not bad at all. I did a couple of 300 mile journeys with the roof up and down and it was really quiet whilst up! 👍🏻

No idea, but I live down a narrow lane with grass growing down the middle and it was fine! Hope that helps.

Did he just say the supra doesn’t have the same badge appeal as the BMW? You can tell he’s not a car guy. Look at the price of old supra vs old BMW to see which is more appealing to car buyers
Hahaha not a car guy that’s a good one 😂😂😂 maybe I should change jobs! I am not an old Supra guy. (I have never driven one and I am sure they are great just not my thing) I mean BMW has more badge snobbery than toyota which is a fact it just does. Rightly or wrongly that is just the case wouldn’t you agree?

Unfortunately for you it isn't wrong, it is 5.4seconds. BMW Z4 sDrive 20i does it in 6.6. BMW Z4 sDrive 30i Does it in 5.4. BMW Z4 M40i does it in 4.6. Those are all numbers from BMW themselves!! Thx
