Before anyone says it, giving Thor an instant detonation is a terrible idea. The reason why they don’t wanna give her that is because they want to prevent people from just throwing the mines directly at people. Ela is able to do this, but mainly because of the fact that her mines are non damaging.
Why not just make it that Thorn's mines have to be planted and cannot be instantly thrown. Give them a 2.5 second plant time. This forces Thorn players to put them in spots to deny an area, while at the same time prevents them from chucking them like grenades.
Counterpoint: give them a 15 second activation time and a instant detonation time, the 15 seconds make it so you can't just hail Mary it at their team and forces you to play smart with em
@breadloafsupreme ik it is. But i feel like it's an exaggeration. She doesn't have impacts or any utility that makes damage. That can work as a sticky "grenade" and by removing the 1 tap kill it would be balanced

Just get rid of the thorn gadget all together it's a bad trap concept. Give her something else thorn related like window thorns, or floor thorns, or whatever
i think something to consider is the fact that the thorn traps can be placed anywhere. its a lot harder to drone/expect them, and thats why theres a longer detonation. compare that to kapkan. instant detonation, but its not as large of an area as thorn, and theyre bound to windows and doors, meaning theyre significantly easier to expect and spot. thorn punishes the player for bad reaction time and throws off what theyre currently doing, forcing them to focus on getting out of the detonation zone, which defenders can then play off of. kapkan punishes people for lack of intel and spacial awareness, but its not as reliable to play off of. thats just how i see it 😁
Maybe give Thorn more traps or more barbed wire or make the trap to be bulletproof until it was trigger or even totally bulletproof but reduce radius or add more detonating time. To me, Thorn gadgets are good alarm and anti-entry for prevent slow pace attacker. Kills are just byproducts since attacker can just drone to check common spot trap then shoot them.
Thorn's purpose isn't to trap but area denial. It's meant to force players out of a position, or die. Their choice. To reduce the timer is to strip them of that choice and to reduce the damage is to make the choice irrelevant.
Acog yes, original Dmg a need, and her ability for sure, could be quicker.. And should still be instant kill.. It'd help somewhat replace the kapkan nerf.. Considering kapkans ability used to be only one EDD to neutralize an opponent..
If they lower the damage and upping the speed of the gadget will literally be useless unless she has like 5 or 6 at which point she'll just be an objectively better Kapkan. Literally one of the fastest ways to buff her atm would be to give the c75 a sight to make her shotgun mire viable. Her gadget is fine if you know how to use it though she could probably use a 4th one. Her loadout is her biggest issue though not her gadget. She has no good viable roam options so unless they are gonna make Shotgun smg viable or give her impacts or nitro she will never be a very viable op

They could make it so they have super short range but they explode a lot faster and maybe are harder to see. This way you kind if have to almost touch it to go off but they have a lot less time to react.
I think they should make it be able to toggle a delay and an instant activation. Sometimes the delay is a good feature so having access to both would be great
Don’t make it insta kill, instead make it do 60 damage and they have to pull the thorns out like lesion mines but have to pull out 2 or 3 in one animation
Wouldn't it make sense for the Thorn trap to wind up after it's placed? I've never understood why it only winds up when it's triggered, because it has a cool down after you place it before it can be triggered... Should that wind up happen then? Is it just me who thinks that this is an illogical way for her gadget to function?
Wait, is she getting more of them in this proposed buff cuz if all it’s doing is nuking her possible damage for more likely damage, that feels kinda weak. I’d rather just place 5 Kapkans on 5 different doors if I just wanted a bunch of small injuries.

The barbed wire buff helped thorn a-ton already its either u take damage running to through it or you die to the thorn trap

Honestly, make her thorns have sounds similar to nomads so they are more balanced with quicker detonation

It’s not a one shot, you can be at a distance where the device only hurts you. A slight detonation time buff would be perfect.
This is why I love krxxp. I've been saying this for soo long now, like I want to use thorn, I want her to be good

The first time I encountered a Thorn trap, I proned, thinking it worked like a bouncing betty

The idea of 50 dmg is good , but I think the gadget need to give attacker with a slow debuff
Like make them walk real slow or can’t sprint for like 5-10 sec
