Remember that Rhythm Roulette video that Jonwayne did back in like 2014? I wish the early commenters dragging the man for his in-the-box workflow could eat their words now. Jon pops back in our algorithm and dunks on us with consistent DAWless content. Now - dude has gone the extra (thousand) miles compiling gear to form the quintessential beatmaking studio setup, and we get to sit back, watch, and learn. Whether you use a DAW or not, there's a ton to learn from the thought process alone. Thanks, Jon!
What exactly are you learning about the process? I'm trying to refine my process, but I'm not sure how to apply what I'm seeing to my music. I don't play any instruments so it often just feels like "well I can't really freestyle like that"
Hey man, I've been your fan since 2015ish and I don't know why i never thought to leave you a comment ever since I've found your channel, I'm sorry it took so long. I just wanted to let you know that you are always in our conversations when we talk about the best rappers, not only the best producers. We live in Bahrain so it's a small country but we try our best to spread the word. I really hope we can get a new album soon so i can keep nagging people to check you out. Wayniac Mondays is a gem and Mfdoom would have jammed to that shit if he heard it. Rip
Good one Frankie! I don’t work a lot with samples these days myself, but the Heat+FX warble effect does have a very warm, nice vinyl-ish sound for sure.
Love the synths at the end! Gave it a completely different vibe. Amazing man. Would love for you to add a little freestyle on your beats once in while. Feel like that track would be perfect for a little slow flow ha
You think it’d be possible to make a beat just using the audio jungle voice lines. Just when she says audio jungle. Challenge maybe ? Love your stuff as always Frankieboy
@@jonmakesbeats I dig the "lets see where this goes" attitude here. I struggle with that. I stick to records and seem to get boxed in easy. I lose that sense of exploration when needing to incorporate changes or other elements. You seem to easily get passed it. I guess, I'm hoping in seeing you do it might teach me something.
@@hubbell1202 just start experimenting. Even if what you’re working on turns out bad, you’ve at least learned something. You have to connect those nodes in your brain over time so that way when you approach a certain choice to be made you can rely on experience to know what might work and what might not. At that point it just becomes intuition. There’s not really a quick way to develop that just has to come over time

facts. music should be approached with an adapting philosophy and perspective. always something to be gained from that process.
this really makes me wanna do more DAWless work. It is really inspiring
