    It funny how people dont think the east gets any snow. Its early March and Jay Peak has already received about 350 inches, yes we get rain but we also get lots of snow.

      @@thefilthycasual8863 I live in Mass. You always hear people saying the east does not get any snow, which is not true. I have been a season pass holder at Killington for decades and it often has great snow. Take care.

    Ok, Tuckerman does have Av danger; you're right there. MOST places though in New England are fairly benign compared to out west. We've had 11 deaths this year alone in Colorado, due to avalanches. I've spent a lot of time in the mountains of Vermont skiing and snowmobiling and Av danger never crossed our minds, out west you're ALWAYS aware and prepared.

    Only good thing about back East back country is you don't have to worry about avalanches!
    I grew up skiing back there, and I recall more Ice days than even packed powder. Thing is with these videos it's very deceiving, you have to hit the mountain at just the right time (like during or right after a dump) to get any powder, as the wet snow compacts very quickly.

    it sounded like a video of mr rogers who thought that corn snow was powder

    Moved to New Hampshire from New Mexico about a year ago. Although the elevation may not be the same, the ski resorts are always packed and always have a lot of snow.. I went to killington Vermont Christmas day and honestly it was probably the funnest mountain I have ever been on. I’m looking forward to going to the white mountains this year.!!
    Edit: I heard mount Washington had world record for the worst weather. I also heard that there are avalanches which is kind of spooky because I usually go alone when I board. When I go is it recommend to bring a avalanche bag? I just don’t want to die up there lol.

      daniel Pain there is Stowe, Breton woods, sugarbush, mad river glen, killington and a few smaller ones in Vermont and New Hampshire...killington is the tallest of the bunch in the north east while mad river glen is a great place for powder and there are no snowboarders allowed and no grooming of the trails. I found it to be a little on the rocky side however with fresh pow to cover the rocks it should be quite the time. Sugarbush is the second tallest however to get to the very top you need to take a separate lift that you get from a separate trail so you can’t go directly to the top. I found it to be fun though. Stowe is nice and has a few nice places to stay, great area overall and not bad lines however if you are looking for less lines, I recommend mad river glen. Another pro about mad river glen is that it is very in expensive while places like killington is well over 100 per day for one person. Okemo is a resort that I hadn’t mentioned earlier. I personally hate it so don’t go there nobody likes it. Breton woods is similar and small but near mount Washington. Other ones like cannon are also near there and are nice. That’s just for Vermont and NH. In Massachusetts you’ve got Wachusett mountain. Don’t go there it’s awful and bad lines. In Rhode Island there is a mountain with 9 trials called yawgoo. There rely on 100% artificial snow and it is awful and has no trick park. You can visit it at there website if you are visiting there area however and you can visit their live streams. If you are near maine, sugarloaf is a great mountain to visit. It is big and has a great snow park. Just over the boarder of Vermont, in Quebec, there is a small mountain with a vertical of almost 2,000. I love it there with little lines and reasonably priced tickets. I have been going there since I was 3 years old so I might be bias....let me know if you have any questions about any other ski things for the north east area. If you are looking for backcountry there is a trail called thunderbolt trail in mass that is nice with a 2,500 foot vertical and it is on mt greylock however it might not be fun for your dog...same goes for mount Washington...I am aware I am 6 years late lol I don’t care. Have a great day

  • @STEVeUNIX
    @STEVeUNIX 11 лет назад +2

    Wrong. Anywhere that snow and mountains exist, avalanches exist. Tuckerman Ravine for example, someone is killed in an avalanche nearly every year.

      The skiers that come out of Vermont are the best in the world due to Vermont changing snow conditions and we have the tightest trees in the US
