Orkney Char pt2 (DNA collection )

A return to Hoy on a mission to collect DNA samples provided me with more than I needed!
Those familiar with my videos will remember that I stumbled on the Char last year which were believed to either extinct as an indigenous species or introduced as an invasive species.

Thanks to help from Malcolm Thompson and the Orkney Trout Fishing Association, it was discovered that there was a "char in a jar" from Heldale Loch in the 1800's and a cross reference in DNA might be possible.
My goal was to return this year and collect the adipose fins from a few sample fish.
I'm excited to find out the results!!
All fish returned safe (minus a fin they don't need anyway)
