Fun Fact: the machine Magica uses to invade Lena's dreams in 7:47 is a direct reference to the classic Don Rosa story " Dream of a lifetime", wherein the Beagle boys invade Uncle Scrooge's dreams.
They have done this a lot like with the stop watch and the gold going to people in the used poor village instead of Srooge (like happens with one Indian treasure in a Rosa comic). It’s nice they are reading Rosa comics but I wish they would read comics by other artists as well to be inspired.
I'm kinda hoping they flesh out this version of Magica some more. Like maybe she had a past before giving into dark magic, which would explain Lena as the physical embodiment of her innocence and not leave her as some random shadow entity that somehow got all her powers.
Well this was obviously made before "Glomtales", because his speculations about Magica being green in the promo's didn't really work out. And I wouldn't judge Violet that early like that, since this is just her second appearance and she wasn't really the main focus of this episode. ALSO WHY YOU NO MENTION PHOOEY!?
Violet is my new favorite character. Just give her a chance. Also, since she has a love for books, she is one who is willing to expand her knowledge on things, especially magic since back then, she was rational. So, in a way, she is NOT useless and/or one-dimensional. Plus, unless she is hanging out with Webby and the others, she is probably an introvert. And it's not very nice to criticize introverts.
She looks like she could be a good companion and foil to Huey at the same time. Companion since they are book lovers, and foil because she seems to be more open to learning new stuff after the Shadow War while Huey is struggling to do so since he's rather strict on the Woodchuck journal, like you said.
1:53 The whole one year thing has to be taken with a grain of Truth because Lena is using this party to keep her awake plus Plus she did state that “time loses all meaning in the infinite void of the shadow realm”

For this reboot, the Money Bin was put out in the bay, and for the first time ever (pretty sure, as the comics don't really feature the mansion that much) gave Scrooge's mansion a set location: Kilmotor Hill, the place where his Money Bin is usually located in various Duck media. So, while "A Nightmare on Kilmotor Hill!" *could* be a reference to A Nightmare on Elm Street, it's also saying "A Nightmare at Scrooge's Mansion!" at the same time, which IS what happened in the episode. Pretty clever title when you realize that, if you ask me. Speaking of Duck Comics, Phooey Duck, a fan-named accidental fourth brother created due to artist error in the comics, makes an actual appearance during the dream montage. This show just loves referencing obscure Duck lore and I absolutely love it for that :P

Huey, Dewey and Louie are my favorite characters. So in Jaw$, I was disappointed that the boys weren't teaming up with the girls to defeat Tiffany, even though the promo suggested that they would. In this episode, all of the kids get equal screen time and the "Friendship is Magic" message doesn't feel as painfully obvious as it did in Jaw$.

I'm sure she got it back after the bet since the money never actually changed hands and Scrooge would have destroyed the check to keep Magica from having ONE MORE reasons to come after him. But it is also apparent that Magica frequently forgets or ignores that she is wealthy as is.

And having Lena some place to live, but that just wasted all the story potential of her finding her own place to do it off screen. I wish Violet had been a one off character.
Also btw it’s impossible to read in dreams. You might pick up a book and think it contained some information but you can’t actually read the words. If you don’t know you are dreaming you can test it with a book.
When it comes to movies about kids in High School, Breakfast Club and Love, Simon beat High School Musical EVERY TIME! Not only is there no obnoxious singing numbers but a lot of the characters (in BC's case, the whole crew and Simon, in LS' case) have more relatable personalities. Unfortunately, Dewey lacks any form of a personality; aside from wanting everyone's attention 24/7
