What should be noted, is that for the show, he was intended be a much...much darker character; all the more like The Joker to a degree. And thou they left the dark bit out, they deep add that element to the comic book series. I so wish for another season.
Well, tying somebody up and leaving them next to a bomb with enough explosive power to destroy a warehouse sounds pretty dark to me...it's only because of cartoon physics the two guys survive.
