Not sure if you'll see this, Jackie, but a good rule of thumb is that we sense less sweetness in frozen/very cold things than when they're warm or room temp, so you need to make ice cream/other frozen bases just a little sweeter than to taste before you freeze them. A pinch of salt helps enhance sweetness too!

Hot chocolate is definitely not the same as milk chocolate! There is dark hot chocolate, white hot chocolate and "normal" hot chocolate. Milk chocolate is the solid chocolate that is neither dark nor white chocolate ;)
Milk chocolate is cacao mixed with butter, sugar and, most importantly milk. Dark chocolate is cacao mixed with a small amount of sugar similarly bittersweet chocolate has a slightly higher sugar content but not much more. White chocolate isn't chocolate at all, but cocoa butters and fats leftover from processing mixed with butter, milk and sugar.
Food science fact: Sweetness is perceived in inverse relation to temperature. In other words, hot or room temperature drinks are sweeter than cold drinks. To get your cold drinks (shaved ice) to the same sweetness you have to add more sugar. That's also why soda has so much sugar in it.

We have “Snoball” shops here that are that super fluffy shaved ice, and they usually have around 50 flavors. It’s one of my favorite treats on a hot day.
So this brought back Memories from when I was a kid with my Snoopy Snow Cone Machine, That was really shaved ice. My house was packed everyday during the summer because I was the only one on the block that had one. :)
Adding the flavorant after is usually so that if youre making multiple flavors it's easier to just pour on top rather than switch out the ice and grind them for each person or to make it faster and save time but if it's going to be the same flavor for every one and you dont mind waiting however many hours or if you'll keep it in bulk adding it to the water and freezing it is better since it's going to be more evenly distributed through the ice rather than pooled at the bottom and wont melt the super thin and fluffy ice.
My dad saw me and my sister watching this video and he bought the Penguin one right away. XD He really likes snow cone treats so I'm excited to use it too! It's way too hot here already so this'll be really nice for after work!
No joke, y'all have to try kiwi with skin. I thought it's gross until I tried it. It doesn't taste like anything and you also cannot feel the hairs or something when chewing. It kind of just compensates the sour-sweetness of the kiwi flesh a bit, which I like. I'm a very picky eater, but I love my kiwis with skin.
HOT CHOCOLATE IS NOT THE SAME! Also, thank you for doing this video. I finally have the same penguin. I'm making my ice from strong hibiscus tea & sugar so it's gonna be amazing. I can't wait for it to freeze!
When making anything and freezing it, you’ll always need to make your product stronger than you want when it’s at room temperature because cold deadens flavour ;)
I prefer water ice but I guess that fits into a whole different category. I used to buy whole gallons of water ice that came in vanilla and chocolate and those are my two favorite flavors. They actually added cream to it to make it creamy but unfortunately this place went out of business so I'll never be able to taste it again. It was called oh mighty ices. And it was very different from Rita's. Rita's is a lot more watery but the oh mighty ices brand was a lot more creamy. They also came in fruity flavors like mango and that was also very good.
Funny thing is since Sika did the kiwi thing I tried it as well and it’s so much tastier! U just have to make sure you get the right kind of kiwi (in Germany they are called kiwi gold). So the ones that don’t have the super fluffy peel. Thank you so much Sika for introducing me to that deliciousness ❤️
Hot chocolate is heated milk with coco powder, chocolate milk is milk with coco powder and can be any temperature, and milk chocolate is the light-brown variant of chocolate. It's between dark and white chocolate
I'm the same in the UK but I might also be very wrong. I just assumed I was right because I've ordered a lot of bubble tea with lychee and nobody's corrected me yet...
I was so disappointed for Sika when the birthday cake flavouring turned out to be nasty! 😂 The pea flower and lychee one looked interesting. 😊 I was not at all surprised when this turned into a snowball fight! 🤣🤣 I think I'd buy the penguin. 😊
I've never had Japanese shaved ice but in Alabama their is this thing called Snow Biz. It's exactly how you described the shaved ice in Japan and it's amazing. They have so many different flavors and it's pretty inexpensive and perfect on a hot day. They don't have milk though. Not unless you count the strawberries and cream flavor but the cream isn't frozen and I don't think it's real cream because it's shelf stable.
Oh! We have a place called Mars here that does the best shave ice and you can add cream to any flavor... always add the cream. It makes it sooooo much better!
Here in Hawaii we had shaved ice with a bunch of different flavors also, and a station where you could do it manually. But even with all the good things it is $10 for a small and $16 for a large (without add-ons)
@@loading...5277 I've never been to Hawaii but I've seen the shaved ice you have there in videos and Snow Biz looks exactly the same. Snow Biz is a lot cheaper though. I heard prices in Hawaii are crazy.
Also... Jackie, you're doing it wrong! In Suriname and other countries they have something translated to shaved ice. Basically, they shave an iceblock (kinda like what the machines do) and add the syrup/flavour after its shaved
That's usually how it's done because they offer tons of flavors to many people so it's easier and faster to just shave all the ice then add the flavor rather than switching out the ice flavor for each person or having tons of machines where it can possibly melt. But having the flavor mixed into the ice will have the flavor more evenly distributed so you dont have to worry about the liquid pooling at the bottom and having super concentrated bottom with a bit on top and some with nothing. Also it wont melt the super small ice bits as quickly so it can be colder.
xd according to google there is two ways to pronounciate lychee, the British way is apparently lie-chee and the American way is lee-chee. I don't know why I had to look it up xD but my brain told me to. I pronounce it as lie-chee as a european

Before I knew how Aspartame was pronounced, I used to call it "A-sparta-may"
I pronounce it like the Italian aspetta mi lol
This is A-Sparta
Same
Yeah...
I'm going to start calling it that haha. Love it.
Sika: AHH, AHHH ITS IN MY BRA
Jackie: laughs
Sika:laughs
Jackie: Oh sh-
Jackie:I have good aim👌
I prefer water ice but I guess that fits into a whole different category. I used to buy whole gallons of water ice that came in vanilla and chocolate and those are my two favorite flavors. They actually added cream to it to make it creamy but unfortunately this place went out of business so I'll never be able to taste it again. It was called oh mighty ices. And it was very different from Rita's. Rita's is a lot more watery but the oh mighty ices brand was a lot more creamy. They also came in fruity flavors like mango and that was also very good.
Anyone else wish their hair grew as quickly as Sika's does.
Yea :((
Ye
It sucks, you can't maintain a hairstyle and it's all your hair (and nails!) that grows crazy fast, it's no fun, woulGd rather have slower growth.

I just love the chaotic energy the two of you have together, haha. And I love the little penguin.
Blue pea flower also changes color with Lemon juice! You guys should have added some! 🍋
In English they’re called golden kiwis!
Jacky, your humor brings a lot of joy and laughter to me❤️
Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face!!!
Yo
I love when you do videos with Sika please do moreeeeeeeeee 💙
I’m the south in the US we have “snow balls” they’re like snow cones but not exactly. Snow balls are made blocks of ice then shaved. Not cubes :)
Jackie: Get your mind out the gutters!
Also Jackie: Spitters are quitters!
ok? so what is the point of this?
@@nikminit285 to make a joke?
@@raed0126 Nah, jokes are funny.
@@bluedragonfly8139 that’s your opinion if you don’t find it funny and frankly, I couldn’t care less
@@raed0126 thats my opinion. this is not a joke.
This looks like it's going to take some time to build. Can't wait for the final. ❤
"Birthday cake more like buh-bye cake!"
Thank you Sika for saying what's on my mind lmao 🙌
Glad I subbed to this quality content creator.
i gotta try that blue pea flower tea since i love tea so much
Jackie: "spitters are quitters"
My boyfriend: "listen to her she knows what shes saying"
💀💀💀💀
Pfffffft o lord 💀😹
LMFAO💀💀
WHY?! IT COSTED YOU $0.00 TO N O T ASSAULT MY EYES WITH THIS SENTENCE.
I NEED TO CLEANSE MY SOUL.
Jackie looks sooo cute when she squishes her face ☺️😂
Hot chocolate is heated milk with coco powder, chocolate milk is milk with coco powder and can be any temperature, and milk chocolate is the light-brown variant of chocolate. It's between dark and white chocolate
The first thing I noticed as soon as I clicked on this video was Sika's hair it looks so cool 🤩
I pronounce lychee as "lie-chi" and I'm from Georgia in the US, but I've never actually heard it pronounced before so I may be totally wrong.
I'm the same in the UK but I might also be very wrong. I just assumed I was right because I've ordered a lot of bubble tea with lychee and nobody's corrected me yet...
Same in Florida USA
Actually both ways are correct
I call it “lie-chi” too. I’m from Hawaii
I’m Japanese and we call it lie-chi in Japan.
Love the interaction with you and zeka
I've never heard "leechee" before, only "liechee" here in the UK.
Love the feature of 🎵figure it out! Mm mm mmmm🎵
I was so disappointed for Sika when the birthday cake flavouring turned out to be nasty! 😂
The pea flower and lychee one looked interesting. 😊
I was not at all surprised when this turned into a snowball fight! 🤣🤣
I think I'd buy the penguin. 😊
Kiwi with the skin actually taste good I LOVE IT
I've never had Japanese shaved ice but in Alabama their is this thing called Snow Biz.
MILK CHOCOLATE, AND HOT CHOCOLATE ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS!!!
I'm saying
Milk chocolate is the solid chocolate, hot chocolate is the drink.
I Love snow cones
Yes for everybody that didn’t know eating the skin has lots of benefits to it it has lots of vitamins that’s where all the vitamins are.
And also sounds just dreadful. Who cares about the benefits.
Also... Jackie, you're doing it wrong!
In Suriname and other countries they have something translated to shaved ice.
Basically, they shave an iceblock (kinda like what the machines do) and add the syrup/flavour after its shaved
Thats how i have always seen it done too. Ive never seen anyone add the flavor to the water before its frozen
I have had it before and it is mwah chefs kiss
xd according to google there is two ways to pronounciate lychee, the British way is apparently lie-chee and the American way is lee-chee. I don't know why I had to look it up xD but my brain told me to. I pronounce it as lie-chee as a european
Im from England and I've never heard anyway say lie-che. People say it as lee-che
I pronounce it as Lee-chee as a European
I’m in america and we call it lie-chee haha
@@craftlover2018 😂 i just took it off of what google said no hate 😇
@@kenzchan2650 I’m American and I call it Lee-chee. America is a large country and we have many different dialects.
I had a snoopy snow cone maker (80s version) when I was a kid, it and it worked really well. I bought another one when I was about 18 so I could have all the parts i lost lol.
The japaneze ice stuff reminds me of Italian ice. I grew up in Italy and that was by far my favorite desert type of icecream
Sorry for the terrible English D:
My family when visiting my grandma:gets snow cones(its almost like a tradition)
Jackie:'I hate snow cones'
Ok the donut shop in my hometown has the 'snow miracle' and it was this exact thing. So good nothing like it. Makes you hate snow cones
I think you guys should do a video trying Australian Snacks (With: Jackie and Sika) BECAUSE FEED SIKA
