Loved this episode, I’m becoming quite addicted to this Ben and Emily saga 😎well edited and a joy to watch 😉
i've been addicted for 26 weeks.
Hi Ben & Emily , I played your video to my mum Steve Smith ( yes she is called Steve ) funny really as Alan is a girl ! She was inspired to write a poem,
" My Name is Alan ,
I live with Em and Ben ,
I sometimes have to earn my keep by doing jobs for them,
Today he did some baking ,
He thought he'd make a bun,
So I helped out to make it rise ,
I WARMED it with my BUM !
( Steve Smith , Gillan , Helston , Cornwall , age 89 )
My husband Bill and I are cheering as we hold each other's hands while watching. We are entranced with this vlog. We travelled the Llangollen canal last summer. The lock before the water point brings back a wonderful memory. Having had a shallenging week before we left for England I was wound far too tight. The cottage by this lock is inhabited by the nicest couple. L. and her husband showed us through her lovely garden thus starting us off on the most challenging but breathtaking cruise we've ever had. Merry Christmas from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦.
Not sure how I started binge watching this channel but I'm loving it 💕
It's never too early for a mince pie guys.
I loved this vlog, Alan made me laugh out loud when she was sitting in the dough bowl. A few cat hairs add to the flavour.🤣 You two are so good at editing now, your vlogs are always, amusing, educating and funny. Take care, stay warm and safe. xxxx
Nice pub at the bottom of the bank: Bridge Inn. Good food and beer.
Fill up a 20l container at a water point and time how long it takes, then fill up your tank and time that, it will give you a rough idea how much it holds.
Love this episode. Facts, fun, laughter, enlightenment, music, scenery and a cat that sits in a bowl of sourdough. Just what I (we all need!)😊 need to bring some light after a week with covid. I wish I could play music and create like you two do. Inspiring. 😊
You know guys ,, I never knew of you up until a couple of months ago , I was very poorly in my sick bed and alone with our doggie as My wife was on a mercy mission in the Uk , we live in Brittany btw ,, I back to back binged on your whole catalogue ,, I was suffering from real Flu and anxiety ,, you helped me so much with your lovely chilled vibe vlogs , Bennys lovely music , Alan and his wacky ways and Emily with that gorgeous accent and calming voice ,, now I am better but still when I watch your little pieces of simple funny and classy adventures I feel just Great ,,, If you could bottle your vlogs and prescribe them to aid people with this crazy worlds stresses etc I am sure the world would be a better place .. Thankyou don’t stop you three are special . X Neil .
Hi Neil, thanks so much for your lovely words, it means so much to us that we could bring something good to your world, knowing this encourages us to keep filming and sharing what we do, and also has set Alan off purring 😻 Sorry to hear that you were ill, we wish health and happiness for you and your family ❤️ thanks again for the kind words, best wishes Ben, Emily and Alan xxx
Alan the dough-py cat, Benny the super model and the beautiful Emma. You made my day, your videography is getting better episode by episode. Thank you for the effort.
Perfect antidote to a tough week. Thanks you three. I can’t tell you just how much I appreciate your lovely vlogs.
Thank you, I was going to watch this in the morning but couldn't wait, brilliant. better than Emmerdale anyway ;-)
Ben saying, "I've been sat here so long it made me enlightened" made me laugh, thanks for that. Also reminds me of sloths who sit around in trees all day!
Eckhart Benny.
Sloths ? ....sit in trees? You must be merican
I'm not convinced they actually read comments now
@@dba750 Sloths do live in trees
love allan !! lol
You put in a good day's Chirk there kids. Pity you didn't quite make it, you'll just have to cross the bridge when you get to it I guess.
Thank you. That is my Friday evening wind down sorted. Chilled. Love it.
Lovely. Relaxing episode.
Great Vlog guys, I’m still laughing every time I think of Alan in the bread bowl. I was crying with laughter and my Wife was having a go at me as I watch on the iPad with earphones on while she has something on the telly 😂The scenery is stunning, it’s a shame that the cruising is hard work what with the flow and shallow water. I’ve heard this about the Llangollen from other vloggers. Looking forward to your trip over the Chirk aqueduct, glad you didn’t rush it at the end as it’s impressive to see. Have a great weekend 👍
You're the third channel this week that I watched that went on the Chirk. Enjoy your videos.
Watching your older vlogs, and this is one of the best, had me chuckling loads, from an enlightened Benny, Alan finding the sweet spot on top of the bread dough ( he left his paw print in it last night), and Ben in the outtakes valiantly trying to pronounce Pontcystyllte.....don't worry, its a tricky one, but I think you got there!! Thanks for just being yourselves, and wonderful as well.😊
Can't wait for the egg tuning vlog, bennies nakey bod cooking a biscuit slab. Ellen the cat sick of the battery slab pushing. I LOVE how Ellen makes sure she steals the show....
Love these videos, they are good for the soul, Emily is beautiful, Ben is talented and Alan is barking.
You both are a blessing to us in Milo, Maine USA
Your smoothie looks great Emily.... Does it work 🤔
Merely a mere. Stove looks loke Morsø squirrel stove made in Denmark and really efficient will serve you well. Collect pallets for firewood too.
I don’t even need to watch more than 20 seconds for me to click the like button with this lovely couple…and a cat ( sorry I’m afraid to spell her name incorrect)😻😻😻
🥰 Thank you so much! Her name is Alan 🌟
@@BenandEmily thanks..I can call her by her name properly now..
@@massimilianoazzara9257 🥰
Superb Alan action at the end. Just the sort of thing one would expect from a cat.
Your vlogs just keep getting better, Ive been giggling all the way through it. One things for sure your are a lovely couple together and it makes it more enjoyable watching you and Alan keeping the dough warm in the kitchen lol
so funny Alan made her point the dough is softer and warmer than any pillow have a great week and happy holidays wishes joyeux noel xo
Where I live is at the Southern edge of where the glacier was during the Ice Age...at the Ohio River. Next week, F will go down to 6, then 6, then 11 , then 15. Otherwise the countryside looks so much like the areas where you have been on your vlogs. If I didn't know better, I would think you were in Kentucky, U.S.A. Love your episodes and look forward each episode.
Oooh yeh. Friday night. Kettle on!
Great episode and a day early! Benny you should do a cookbook mate, or at least more filming of you prepping and cooking your wonderful food.. it always looks so delish.
Look forward to the next episode. Happy Christmas and love to you both and Alan. ❤❤❤
2:36 Loving that Hillbilly chinstrap beard, really suits ya Emily 🤭
😅 YES!
Never too early for mince pies!!!
Fabulous as always take care look forward to seeing you next week x
Always great fun - You are such a lovely couple...
After day I've had you 2 bring a smile everytime
LOL Alan making a bed on the bread dough, I so laughed at that. 🤣🤣🤣
In today's episode Alan shows Ben & Emily how to make flat bread. Thanks again for another rewarding episode.
😆
Love you guys! It never ceases to amaze me just how positive you both are even when things don’t always go as planned, well done and keep making us all smile. I look forward every week to watching the vids and having a smile and laugh. Oh and Alan and the bread 😂
😄🌟
In the US pallets are often made of poplar and pine. Pine fouls the stack so it's a good idea to burn a aluminum soda can with the fire to prevent that. Still it's best to use oak/hickory because you get so much more heat, it's worth it. Catalyst wood heaters are so efficient they don't produce smoke, well worth the costs if you're committed to wood heating.
I love your videos. Happy Trails always. :)
Very much enjoy watching you on your travels.
Pallet wood fires are the best. we have some to chop up this week end, Your tray bake biscuits look delish. Alan and the dough incident was funny
ALLEN HELPIN MAKE THE SOURDOUGH RISE... ADD A LITTLE KITTYHEAT..LOLOL CATS ARE GOOFBALLS AND FUNNY. GREAT ADVENTURE IN THIS EPISODE...
“Pain de la chat”? Awesome 🤩
Lovely scenery and Alan made me laugh so much 😹😹😹. Fascinating to watch, thanks for sharing 👍
I love you both and the memories you give me I grew u near the Aqueduct spent my childHood in ‘Llangollen had friends and family who lived on the canal side, my grandma s house backed onto the canal at Ellesmere, I married and lived in Whitchurch, then Shropshire . One tale about the main mere is that a soldier fell off a small boat died but they could not get to the bottom to find body - rumour says it is bottomless
I love Alan 😂...really enjoying your journey x
Ben & Emily - I agree with all the comments below... Your videos are very restful, and fun, to watch. I do think a recipe book is a good idea too. You both seem to enjoy your cooking and eating. So you might earn a crust (ha ha, see what I did there?) with an e-book or two on vegan/vegetarian canal food perhaps? Big hugs - Tim
Good job with the harmonicas. I had 3. Blues, and a C and a G
Lovely as always guys 😀 How cute of Alan to lie in the bread bowl 😃
Been watching Emily Benny and Alan for a week now. Just love watching your Adventures. And you cooking Benny. When are you bring out a cook book very addictive. And feel inspired to live on a canal boat x x
Great vlog well filmed liked your excursion to Oswestry looking forward to watching you cross the Pontcysyllte. Ruth and Dave
Lovely episode! When I lived in NW Philly for a decade, until 2009, I lived in Ardmore. all the town names in the region are Welsh-named. I got used to Welsh names. Even if they seem weird to English speakers, many are really very lovely sounding, said properly.
I might be as bad as John Lydon (Except in my politics. I'm a social dem.) He sold butter on the television, and I sold some music at Tesco's. 😆 My old friend Nick, up in the Fife area, and I, were on an electronic label together for a few years, his label Skeptical Recordings. I'm also Jakeez/Crushed Bits. Our online distributer had our stuff for sale all over. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw my music for sale on Tesco's site. 🤣
God I love you two...you remind me of when I wore a younger man's clothes. Don't ever let go of each other our your mutual hope in the the future. God bless you both!
Really enjoyed the humour in this episode. Had me chuckling. Look forward to the next one. Keep up the good work.
The LL in the welsh alphabet is a sound that you dont have in the english language. Its not a sound that comes from your sound box and is best achieved by putting you tongue in the roof of your mouth and blowing. The wetter you can make it sound the better. Loved the vlog. It was just over a year ago when we did the same trip. Fond memories. Thanks.
Aww she wanted to make Alan dough. 🐾
Enjoyed your music, Ben. In particular the song you were singing while you were taking your solo walk. Hypnotic and lovely.
Thank you 😊
Lol, 😀video's the best 1st go to all the time now 😋😛🤣
Ah, so much cozy! What a nice surprise to see you a day early. Emily, you are looking luminous. Benny’s culinary talents look tasty! The local history and geography are intriguing. Happy Christmas to you both and Alan! ❤❤❤
Alan loves the heat coning from the yeast in the dough. She was helping the dough to rise 😂😂😂😂
Great vlog, I love the mental cat!
I have tried following a few narrow boaters, a couple with a baby with a cafe boat that is never open much, very boring.
Tried a few others too but your vlogs content/style suit me best.
Thank you.🍻🎶👍
Very funny Ben going from the necked chef to the enlightened one I am enjoying the last few videos as I said Elsmere is a place I have spent a lot of time and the surrounding areasSo this brought a lot of memories back thank you for sharing peace and love
Idiliylic live style looks so great away from mad life I cities so great
Thanks both for showing the sights ,different objects ,so enjoy your vidio's ,👍
15:52 my 5th on the water and 30th year off grid......... this year is going to be harder than the last many TBH.
Keep warm, keep water and fuel and food cupboards loaded up and you will be fine xxx
...💜 luv n light blessings ✝💜...🍁
Alan has just been upgraded to Champ for the bread bowl saga, bless her cotton socks. Great content with a great mix of goodly stuff to watch and listen to. I like the fact that you both chat lots, anyone can upload a video of the country side from a boat but adding your content just makes it all stand out.
Thank you so much 🙂
Love you two skittles, especially the new bread maker Alan 😅
Another lovely video guys, cant wait to see Emily's face when they go over the viaduct.
Hello You Three - greetings from a very cold and very snowy Poland,
A fantastic video this week! What a talented cook Benny is. And Alan helping with making the bread - what a great way to make the dough rise!!
You never stop surprising me as to just how positive you are never mind what's thrown at you. So much fun and laughter on your boat. See you again very soon. Stay safe please
Thanks Michael. I do try to make us nice meals 😊 hope you are well 😊
You may be worried about the aquaducts. I'm more worried about you going through the tunnels without a headlight and a flow against you - it takes a lot longer to go up the canal towards Llangollen than the other way. Fingers crossed... 😄
Pont-kus-hull-tah or Pont-kus-hull-tay - either will do!
Alan’s yeasty repose!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm a week behind, just catching up. :) Great episode, always lovely to see you guys! Have a great Holiday!
Merry Christmas! 😊
Another great episode with hairy bread 🤣🤣🤣 . . Can't wait for next week's instalment 😃👍👍
That Portion :)
Loved this Vlog, as I always do! Was great to see North Shropshire area because I’ve been attracted to it for years although live on Anglesey .. lots of laughs.. Alan! 😁😹typical cat lore ☺️and loved the illuminated Benny, he always makes me laugh, great pronunciation 😅will have to get him to say the full version of Llanfair PG xx
