- Facing off against the Bob's "Big Bomb" 12 Egg Omelette Challenge at Thornton's Hometown Cafe in St. Joseph, Michigan! This was a warm up challenge for my first ever 2-a-day food challenge attempt. This $28.99 pay-to-play challenge includes a huge 12 egg omelette stuffed with corned beef, bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. It is also served with a side of hashbrowns and 2 slices of buttered toast. Challengers have a one-sitting time limit to finish their meal in order to win a groovy t-shirt, groovy coffee mug, and a spot up on the restaurant's Wall of Fame!

My son is 29, he has autism and Parkinson’s and you are his favorite RUclips. He watches every time he eats and cheers you on. It’s helped him to finish his food too. When he finishes his food, he puts hands up and says, I win!

Cool. Others below may have also commented on the area. I have visited St. Joseph a few times years ago and have eaten at this restaurant a few times. Nice place. I hope you got a chance to walk around the shops that are right near Thornton's. Unfortunately, as you probably saw, the beach is covered with snow right now. It's a beautiful beach. If you are ever in the area again at a warmer time of year, try to stop by to visit the beach. It has been voted as one of the best beaches in the U.S. by number of magazines.
Being from Michigan I would love to see you do more challenges in the state, particularly near University of Michigan! Ann Arbor has some really good food

I LOVE pumpernickel. My favorite is the pumpernickel bagels from Bruegger's or Einstein Bros. I love rye, too, but usually get wheat since that's the only "exotic" flavor available to me where I go.

I'm glad you agree about diner bottle ketchup. Ketchup that is served in a thin enough stream actually cooks a touch on your hot food and changes the flavor and makes it better. Many people think I'm nuts but I can definitely tell the difference and Team Heinz for the finish!

It’s mine too! Pumpernickel is amazing. 😋😋😋 I once had it with raisins and it was sweet. My favorite at breakfast is cinnamon raisin toast. With lots of butter and apple jelly.

I have never thought about having corn beef in an omelet before. The home town restaurant where I am at actually does serve pumpernickel with their omelets, haven't tried it before but might now. Not a big breakfast eater myself, mostly like sandwiches for breakfast especially if it has spam. Great video as always. I love watching yours and Randy's video. You all are a great team!
I love pumpernickel bread too ! We made pumpernickel flour in a flour mill that I used to work at.
Pumpernickel is a superior bread. Marble rye is my personal fav! It’s always a treat when they have it in restaurants!

Buttermilk biscuits are my bread of choice. Or at least it would be, but it's hard to find a diner on the west coast that makes good ones.
Seeded rye toast with butter, and over easy eggs. The best!
