That's a great approach and good day..my favorite is whatever is biting. Maybe next time on that catfish rod.I have the 5'6 Lews Speed Lite my wife bought me for the birthday. With 5# or 6# braided line I can sling little baits a country mile. Blessings brother
Calling Dr. Dalton! Calling Dr. John Dalton! John Dalton:"I can't respond right now. I'm out fishin'...& I just accidentally hooked myself right in the finger"! Looks like you had some fun fishin', and I was glad to see that you got the hook out of your finger!
Nice ! Bluegill most every cast. Hope you are able to slow down just a little. I enjoyed our time just bank fishing together, for a welcome change. Wish you had hooked that one on the catfish rod. Keep trying, you'll wear the new off of it. I tell you to "always be careful".... Watch out for hooks... them thangs are sharp !! Also watch out for them roving packs of yellow bass ! LOL ! Still truly love the WORD at the end of the clip. Pap Blevins
This summer here in VA. on the clinch rvr I was catching both small mouth an large mouth bass on a worm an bobber when they wouldn't bite any other thing else for me. Love your videos. Stay safe an tight lines.
Catching a bunch of pan fish and a constant tug is fun. If you get a hook with barb poking through, you can always crush the barb with your pliers and pull through. Usually.
Try fishing the bluegill live for catfish and large bass. Just fillet the slabs off the catfish, turn the fillet skin side down and fillet the skin off of the slab leaving about 1/16"- 1/8" meat with the skin because it will be a little strong. Down the center lateral line of the fillet will be the blood line/dark meat cut that off of the fillet. Now you have boneless catfish fillets. Rinse fillets and drain then soak in salted water for a couple hours, rinse and drain, then put fillets in a bowl and cover with milk and soak for at least couple hours. Take the fillets straight from the milk and dip in an egg wash and then straight into your favorite coating/breading mix, deep fry until golden brown. Now you have cooked catfish. 3#-5# fish are best eating size, but the bigger ones are good to you'll just need to process the fillets down to smaller size so they'll cook properly.
Good looking spot for crappie nibbles Jon!!!! Fished Weightless!!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee I would have loved to been there with ya throwing the crappie nibbles around
hard to believe the river is that low compared to when I was there in September! But looks awesome for good paddling time! hey, John...how about you take your catfish rod out on the kayak and drift with a half-bluegill! That would be hilarious seeing you hauled around by a big one! :-)
Hi John is a RUclips watch from Georgia. Catfish cleaning is not bad. When you go to Walmart buy you a pair of Catfish shiners, you hold the Catfish by the gills, cut the fines off, right at the gills there's a bone, grab the bone and pull down the skin comes right off. The bigger they are the hard they are to skin. I fish the Buffalo Creek throughout the southern Georgia area and Satilla River throughout the southern Georgia area. Catfishing is my life. Jason Gathern Wallace.
Pretty sure I fished the other side under the bridge there, river fishing is always fun never know what might bite! Cool seeing you and Chris together again. Keep at it brother!
I haven't fished with bait in a really long time, but back in my youth I used to use hooks that size when fishing for catfish with bluegills, and I would just slide the hook through the bluegill's mouth and out its gills (like a stringer). It didn't hurt the bluegill at all, and so, with a heavy enough sinker, the bluegill would be swimming around on the bottom in perfect health. I caught a fair number of catfish rigging them that way, and there were also days when I fished for a while, found out that the fish weren't biting, and then at the end of the day I just took the hook out of the bluegill, put it back in the water, and watched it swim away no worse for the wear.
John i have watched videos where the take strawberry koolaid and chicken and it is boneless. They cut it up and put the koolaid in a baggie and the chicken chake it up put it on there hook and catch cat fish.Dont know if it works.Might want to try it 😊
Tons of bluegill. Nice. Do you think they were just stacked at the first spot randomly? Or does that specific spot offer something different or unique vs. just any spot on the river?
John when you are catfishing like that I find it works better if you us a good rod holder me and my brother was catfishing one on a pier a catfish hit it a toke it off the pier
I had a friend who caught a bass on a jitterbug and when he tried to take the hook out the bass moved and one of the hooks ended up in his hand.He couldn't get the bass unhooked or himself. So he went to hospital with the bass and the Doctor removed both hooks.l don't know what happened to fish.Maybe it got eaten.
Watching you from klamath Falls Oregon just getting really tired of all the political junk and wars just want to turn it all off and watch fishing like the catch and cook
