Great video and late winter approach to catching whatever fish are biting. 30-40 years ago I got ribbed about fishing for panfish and ultralight gear. And even before bass fishing and finesse tactics showing up in tournaments the idea of targeting a bunch of panfish seemed to stick. I mean they're delicious to eat too
Trout magnets are always a go to for panfishing for me. They also make a really small one for fly rods. I’m not that good at fly fishing but I can cast alright and I was slaying bluegill the one day with it. Lots of fun.
I have caught everything from trout, bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseeds, green sunfish, to catfish with trout magnets. If I want to filter out some of the smaller ones I'll throw some crappie magnets as well!!
Trout Magnet, Panfish Magnet, or Crappie Magnet… they all work in just about any water you go to. Bright sunny days to overcast raining skies. From 1/64 oz to 1/8 oz this family of lures has you covered with the right size and color for catching numbers of fish. Every tackle box needs a few Trout Magnet lures!
Went to one of the most pressured ponds in my area for a 30min lunch break session, and I wound up landing a 1.5lb largemouth on my 4lb ultralight with a red 1/16oz jig head and a gold trout magnet under a slip cork. Love fishing those trout magnets under a cork.
Absolutely the most versatile and universal small plastic there is. I catch literally everything with these. There is a larger sized Crappie Magnet also. I would bet those would work as well for surf perch on the west coast and speckled trout on the east and gulf coasts.
I caught several HUGE bedding bass last spring with the pink/purple trout magnets and a GIANT smallmouth in lake Michigan and yes it was on the standard Trout Magnet jig. Those big fish wouldn't hit anything but as soon as that little jig hit the water the inhaled it!!!
Trout magnet anything is all I use for panfish, i haven’t gotten good at fishing them with no bobber but I’ll go to my pond with trout magnet 2 feet under a bobber and I’m at least gonna get a hit and most the time a fish
Great video trout magnet I have not been able to any of the trout magnet hooks at Walmart's here they have a lot of the bait I have been using the bobby garland just have not figured out witch one the fish like the best thank you enjoy your videos
John I don't know if you have tried the D2 jigs from Leland Lures ( Trout Magnet) but it's improved my Creek fishing a bunch. Liked this video please make more with same contents.
The color pink lemonade looks like it might be something in your wheel house. My daughter and I talked with you briefly at the East Tn Fishing Expo. You were at the Tiny Boat Nation booth and gave us the last sticker you had on you. Thanks for another quality video.
I have been watching your videos and saw the one where you got your slayer 10 and was curious what your height and weight is to compare because I am looking to get a slayer 10! Thank you!
Great video!! Great fishing and range of species and beautiful fish! Have a good day and week. Look like a beautiful day also! Would like or love to fish with you someday

And I’ve fished with smaller jigs with a bobber and it’s great for pan fishing
Good fishing 🎣 👍
I just caught my PB trout on a chartreuse Trout Magnet yesterday! Love your channel, keep it up and I'm ready for the next episode of the podcast!
has he a pod as well ?
What was your set up, line weight, type of line, rod and reel? You mentioned a wide range of equipment but was wondering what were you actually using
They are my all-time favorite lure. Can be fished in any water and for almost any fish. Always have them when I'm fishing.

Justin of kayak catfish uses trout magnets all the time for skipjack, for catfish bait!
They are great lures. I've caught some larger bass with them also.
The trout magnets and gulp minnows are my all time favorite lures. Thanks for another great video!
Was there a specific bobber used? I have not tried a bobber with a small lure but I will try that next time I am out
I fish there often. It's easy to get the boat in there and usually not crowded.
I use the trout magnet jig heads with the keitech 2” shinners for smallies in tiny creeks does well for me
My favorite colors for trout are 1st white, 2nd black and 3nd is bubblegum.
Love the trout magnet!
I AGREE ON THE BAITS OF THE TYPES FOR MY CHOICE *****
I caught nine little panfish and a little largemouth in Beaver Creek last spring with those. Most fish ever in one day for me! It was a blast!
Great video, as always . Thanks 😊
God bless 🙌.
Cool video. That little lure catches all kind of fish, huh. Guess I'm going to have to try them out now too. Fish on😊
I've caught rockbass, smallmouth, largemouth and different types of panfish on them. My favorite color is rootbeer float. 👊👍
Great video trout magnet I have not been able to any of the trout magnet hooks at Walmart's here they have a lot of the bait I have been using the bobby garland just have not figured out witch one the fish like the best thank you enjoy your videos
Those trout Magnets are candy to em! Tight lines!
What rod, reel, line setup you using to get that to cast that well?
Duuuuude the trout magnet has been my secret weapon forever, god bless you man keep up the content
Those crappie were loaded up in there!!!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Also I bought a cheap open face spinning rod and loaded it with 4 pound test. I am having a problem with the line tangling in the spool. Any thoughts?
Sounds like you didn't put the line on correctly. It probably was getting twisted as you were loading it on the reel.
That 1/64th jig with the brown colored trout magnet catches everything in my waters, You should try the rod they make!
Trout and yellow perch in my local ponds/lakes. Washington state.
John I don't know if you have tried the D2 jigs from Leland Lures ( Trout Magnet) but it's improved my Creek fishing a bunch.

I use the Crappie Magnet a lot myself. I don’t think that I’ve used the smaller Trout version or not. But they are great little lures.

Oh yeah I remember. Yes I’ve used that color and it works good also
I caught the biggest fish of the day on a trout magnet and a bubblegum colored soft plastic! 3lber creek bass!

Trout magnet and crappie magnet are the best
Best $1.97 out there!! Gold on gold is my go to!
Yellow perch are a pretty fish.
I got a 17" Largemouth on a Trout Magnet while I was fishing for Bluegill here in PA ! Ya juss never know!! :-)
I have been watching your videos and saw the one where you got your slayer 10 and was curious what your height and weight is to compare because I am looking to get a slayer 10! Thank you!
Powerful little lure,in clear or murky water. Hard to beat. Species after species.
They have a micro magnet with a size 14 jig head.
I just picked up the “mini magnet “ kit with 1/200 th jig heads and little bodies about 1/2” long! Can’t wait to see what hits them. 😂

QUESTION: My lake is being stocked with rainbows and browns in two weeks. Do you have a favorite color? John or contributors? Thanks in advance!
All colors seem to work for me
I want to catch a yellow perch so bad! Just not down by STL
👍🎣
i'm thinking this year of fishing without a bobber , all the videos i watch seems they do better without.

Human nature! Why do we so love to be first? Don,'t know, but I too love it! Lol
