Great video! I will try to do one of these in the hot shop this weekend! I just made my own footing tool and I’m excited to try using it. I'm still trying to get the “pull” process down. Whenever I try to do it, the bubble ends up crooked and off-center. I need to keep practicing.
Thanks! Yeah, pulling cups in (in my opinion) one of the more difficult techniques. Both hands must be in synch, which takes practice for sure. It's a journey; keep on keeping on!
It doesn't seem to matter. I learned that you should always pre-heat kevlar gloves so they don't crack the glass. I took that as gospel. However, turns out it doesn't seem to matter much (in my experience). Just burns out the gloves/tongs. I think a lot of things are like that: we learn them and believe them but don't actually test them.

why don’t you need to preheat the kevlar tongs?
