The ship looked lovely, your meals looked very good too. I think when people say the food is mediocre maybe they're making poor choices off the menu as in food they do t really like maybe. Your cabin was practical and as you say clean and functional. You always capture such great photography on your trips, love it. Great video as always Jamie x
Hi Jamie. Thank you so much for the Get your Guide tip for Bruges from Zeebrugge. We did this on Monday. So easy. It would have been cheaper on the train as Cunard do a free shuttle to Blankenburg but that is every hour and the coach through GYG is every half hour. We didn’t know about it before your vlog. Booked on line so easy and did the “book now pay later option” Thanks again.
Re-watching as I’ve booked this cruise for 3/1 - absolutely ridunculous price and we’ve been upgraded from an inside to a premium balcony 🎉 I mean it is on deck 13 and it is at the very aft, under the buffet 😅 but an upgrade’s an upgrade 🤷♀️🚢😊
exactly the same situation here 😆According to the belgiantrain website, there is a direct train service between Zeebrugge-Dorp and Brugge, which costs €7.60 per return and 14 mins. This sounds better than the two options mentioned in the vlog. :)
Just got back from the same trip with MSC. Our Le Havre port was cancelled due to striking port workers in France. So we stayed an extra day in Bruges. In our opinion Bruges was the best... the awesome architecture, the canal boat rides, the vibe was just so fun. The other ports were also great.
Your reference to Ab Fab was so funny. Especially because the France episode is my favourite. The scene where they are pissed at newts on Red Wine has me in stitches 😅
I look forward to my postcard❤ things are rough in my life, being housebound alot, disabled, plus my sons brain cancer battle, but, you bring me cheer, fine man😊
Lots of happy moments in this video. Did a bit of reminiscing when you walked around Bruges and Honfleur. I am one of your patrons and I don't mind saying publicly, I love receiving your postcards. It's my favourite perk! THanks for another great video.
Thank you for saying this - it amazes me when vloggers who don’t even have a Patreon account criticise those of us who are very happy with the community they are helping to build and the fact a feature like post cards is warmly received ❤️
We got a local bus ( coach actually) from the bus station in Le Harve to Hornfleur for less than £5 return 👏 just returned so we went yesterday. Just for a real economic option if prepared to walk 20 mins x
We did Honfleur in June'22 on an MSC excursion which at the time was about £42 for 4/5 hours. Our guide really was excellent and walked us all around Honfleur and was full of information not only of Honfleur, but also the region and then we stopped off at a Calvados producer for a tour and tasting. To be honest for an extra £20 pp over just a bus ride from Le Havre we felt it very good value and Honfleur on a nice warm, sunny day is a delight. Sometimes the MSC excursions can be good value. We have just done a trip on the MSC Lirica to Egypt and the excursion was 14 hours to Cairo and back for I think £150+ including entrance fees and a very good lunch, you just cannot do it on your own and so you just have to budget for some of these MSC excursions, which in some locations is the easist AND safest option. :-)
@@TravelBlogJamie Good point, it was June'22, so maybe post Covid pricing? I do think some of the longer MSC excursions of 9+ hours quite good value. We did a 12+ hour one in Casablanca/Rabat in 2023, it was £112pp and included lunch at the Movenpick Hotel. You just could not do that excursion on your own and the reason for the trip was to see Casablanca and more, which this delivered in spades, again with an excellent guide. Keep sailing.
I saw that you went on Halloween and there are holidays in some parts of Germany, so it could be that the ship is full. We were on the Preziosa and it was really empty
Hi Jamie excellent video ive just got off of Preziosa love that ship staff are amazing didnt go into Rotterdam spent the day in Amsterdam instead will explore Rotterdam another time looks like you and Mafoo had a great time they should heat the pools though take care ❤
They weren’t picking up for this actual trip - they had a one-off pick-up time at 10am from the ship but yes, as I mentioned in the vlog, they dropped us back at the ship 👍👍
Hi there, Thanks for the video, we are looking to do this in January :) Can you say if the piped-in music is everywhere on this ship? I ask because we know P&O is pretty acceptable and they will turn it down if it's a bit much, but companies like Princess have a company policy of music in EVERY public area (including the corridors back to your cabin) which we got so wound up with. We have not yet cruised with MSC so are very interested in the ambience in public places. Any thoughts? Thanks, Tim :)
I love your videos. It would be great to know what liners offer the best ship within a ship experiences? Or if thats not necessary on some liners like Princess or Cunard. Its hard to know if yacht club is elevated compared to other brands or whether its a better option for busy cruises on msc. videos are inspiring and Mafuoo makes them even better. Thank you for cheering up otherwise dreary work days. I've been on 2 cruises, first p&o britannia which was lovely and then msc virtuosa in yacht club which was amazing. The food and service was amazing. Some passengers in yacht club thought you get the same experience without the price on Royal Caribbean or NCL
To be fair neither do I, other than the one experience as a treat. Thank you so much for your honest reviews. I look forward to every video as you say it straight, unlike a lot of paid youtubers
I think it’s worth keeping a look out on the luxury lines too as sometimes they can be 40% off. Yes still expensive but if everything is included it starts being not so much more than some others by the time you’ve had to keep lying extra for dining etc. drinks, specialty dining and excursions (good ones too) on some lines. Full price is ridiculous and not worth it but if you can get a bargain they’re wonderful
Rotterdam although not old/quaint (much was destroyed by German bombing in WW2 and had to be rebuilt) I love the place. Getting more expensive year on year so don't delay.
It depends on how long the vlog is and whether I need to create a sizzle reel / how much voiceover to do - this one took about 6 hours but they all take differing times
@TravelBlogJamie Keep up the gentle reminders and useful tips. Folks fail to realise there are massive savings to be made by DIY . That GetYourGuide sounds like a useful resource.
Shame about the pool temperatures knowing how much you enjoy using them normally. The frites museum must count as one of the unexpected finds of the year; what a fabulous find.
Hello I have a question. We have our cruise in about 25 days but we are having a huge problem with the new visa requirement from UK for my husband Colombian passport holder. Ours starts from France, and he did already submit an expedited visa application. My question is what documents were requested when you embarked?

All I will say is I don’t think there should be such a thing as a poor choice, ie all dishes should be up to standard imo

It’s a great episode
So fun! I loved the "little girl" reference...was it by chance from RHOSLC? Thanks for all the great info! Cheers from Zurich!
It was indeed!!
Looked a wonderful trip and the shop looks fab too.
Love to get your postcard too about the only decent post we get these days! X
You’re always welcome!
We were in Honfleur in August , it was such a lovely place. A very hot day and very busy but beautiful. I’d definitely go back.
👍👍👍
So now I need to go to Bruges... I need that potato museum
It’s so coooool
I look forward to my postcard❤ things are rough in my life, being housebound alot, disabled, plus my sons brain cancer battle, but, you bring me cheer, fine man😊
I’m trying my best for you, I promise 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Brilliant. Got this booked end of February and looking forward to trying this ship out. Some fantastic deals out there. Glad you both enjoyed it❤
Yeh, some super deals to be had
What a beautiful park! Views like this cheer me up no end!

We did see this option but it was only running at certain times in our day

Alas, you won’t find it for any where near that price any more for Honfleur

@ although get your guide has some great tours in Casablanca and some specifically for cruise passengers
Thank you Jamie I really enjoyed your adventures cruising Northern Europe an awesome vlog. Once again a big thank you.
Thank youuuuu

I think we prefer Rotterdam to Amsterdam!
@TravelBlogJamie yes I wasn't that keen on Amsterdam tbh
Looking forward to doing this trip again soon.
Re Bee Le Havre bus, if you prebook your trip, they will also pick you up and drop off at your ship
They weren’t picking up for this actual trip - they had a one-off pick-up time at 10am from the ship but yes, as I mentioned in the vlog, they dropped us back at the ship 👍👍
How long did it actually take to city center of Le Havre by tropical walking way 😉 I loved your video !! Thanks for all detailed review and tips!
👍👍👍
Hi Jamie , another great video... always honest and professional 😊Love your day trips ashore too... all the best Neil and Ant 😊
Thank you so much ☺️
@TravelBlogJamie I should have said , honest , professional AND funny!

I’m really sorry but I don’t recall as it’s not something that’s ever bothered me as such and therefore it doesn’t ‘filter’ through to me
Loving the HDR!
👍👍
I really enjoyed this video. I will be on this cruise in upcoming March. Thanks for the tips! 😊
Very welcome and enjoy ☺️

Oh I’m sorry but I rarely sail in those ‘ship within a ship’ experiences so I wouldn’t be able to compare them

Watch it other amazing blog love you Jamie as a friend of cos

One of the best vlog😂 very brave.x
🙏🙏🙏
Great Vlog Jamie, FYI I bloody loves my postcards ❤
Ha! And you are welcome to have 1000s of them 😂
@ I shall take, 1000s 😂they go very well all over my travel wall

Nice ship, Rotterdam is still on my to do list, been to Bruge and Honfleur was so pretty really enjoyed the flog x
It’s a great city
@TravelBlogJamie got to make it happen one day!
Rotterdam although not old/quaint (much was destroyed by German bombing in WW2 and had to be rebuilt) I love the place. Getting more expensive year on year so don't delay.
Good morning Jamie hope you’re well? Can I just ask how long it takes you to edit and create one of your vlogs?
Kind regards
Daz

You have a lovely voice!!!
Oh thank you 🙏
Great vid 👍🏻 Re MSC excursions & shuttles, buyer beware but Princess are way ahead on ripping off the punters .
Yup I’ve mentioned this about Princess

It was an awesome find!!
What does Matthew do for a living? ❤❤
Oh you’d need to ask him directly
Can I ask why you opted to book your own shuttle into blankernberge for €20 each rather than the MSC one for €15 each?
You’ve confused me - we booked an independent shuttle to Bruges for €20, not Blankenberg
@@TravelBlogJamie🤷♀️ I knew I was missing something and I rewinded it 😂😂
Yeah, so that makes sense rather than €30 to the station and then the train fare. I’ve fallen in 😉

Passport and boarding pass - no visa needed for us as UK residents
Ps did you watch part one when I show the check in process? I get the feeling you may not have
Enjoyed it as always , but no Pringles song….whyyyyy? 😢
Oh, can’t get tooooo predictable 😂

Are there any language barriers on board?
Nope
