    Soooo gorgeous. Fabulous background music too. I always just love your voice, and you give fabulous detailed information while also keeping it simple and getting to the point!!!! Such a beautiful winter garden, the video gives such a good feeling, like ASMR!

      Thank you so much Barbara! 😊 I try not to stray too far from the point of the video, as that’s what I prefer too when watching videos. We all have enough complicated things in our lives. Gardening shouldn’t be one of them, so my goal is to keep things easy and focused, and hopefully relaxing too! 🙂❄️

    Please do make a video in print on what to prune and fertilize. You are always so inspiring and I value your advice! Thank you for sharing your beauties

      I hope to do so, as it can be confusing, especially with fertilizer - I even made myself a list so I remember every year which plant needs which fertilizer! 😁

    Wow! A true winter wonderland! This video was so relaxing and beautiful to watch. Almost makes me wish I lived in a colder climate zone. Almost. ☺️
    I've been away from YT for a couple of months, helping my dad as he recovers from two heart surgeries, but now that I'm back, I'm really looking forward to following my fellow gardeners as we all head into an exciting new spring.
    Of course, spring seems a lot closer when I look out my Zone9b window than when I see the gorgeous, snowy scene at your place! Still, it's coming your way, too!
    Thanks again for the winter garden tour! I always discover a new plant or learn something interesting when I watch your videos. 😊

      Hi Kim! I hope your Dad is progressing well in his recovery, as those surgeries couldn’t have been easy. ❤️
      I’m amazed we got that much snow, as we usually don’t. But yes it felt like a Winter wonderland indeed. ❄️ But now we are having a few days of warmer weather so it has me itching for Spring! I need to get caught up too, watching videos, while dreaming of what the garden has in store for me this year! I envy your warmer weather right now! ☀️

      @@GardenSanity Thanks, Laura - yes, my dad is doing well now. So crazy how variable the weather can be these days. We've had a very dry month and a half, and it's been in the 70s and 80sF for a few weeks now. The fruit trees are waking up and think it's spring. Beautiful to see, but it always scares me a little. Hopefully, we don't get a super cold snap in March. 😟

      So glad your dad is doing well! That’s great news! Yes, I always worry about cold snaps too, once we get into the warmer temps. I envy your weather right now - it sounds perfect! ☀️

    Winter can be pretty bleak, but you have a lot of nice color. We’ve had single digit temps, but I have a rose that refuses to drop its leaves. Maybe, someone could breed an evergreen rose?

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 года назад

      Thanks Will! I totally agree: an evergreen rose sounds perfect! 😀 A couple of years ago, my ornamental maples would not shed their leaves even though they were dried up. I hated how it looked so I bundled up, went outside and pushed them off the stems. It was SO satisfying! 🤣

    Just stunning! I also wanted to grow red tip photanias but read they have issues w brown spot fungus. Are you planning on pruning your dapple willow every spring for size control?

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 года назад

      Thanks Sammy! 😊 I haven’t had a major issue with brown spot, although some leaves do get some spots on them, never anything serious - knock on wood! 🙂 Yes, I will prune my Dappled Willow in the early Spring for shaping and size - but thankfully nothing needed like what I did last year with the coppicing! I’m hoping to keep them bushier and not so tall. Basically I hope to keep a better eye on them. 👀😀

    This is beautiful. Thanks for uploading. I’ve been wanting to see your garden in winter. You have different plants in your garden that are not sold in big box stores. May I know which garden centers here in NJ you go to ?

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 года назад +1

      Thank you Joy! 😊 I tend to geek out over plants, so many times if I learn about something I think will grow well in my garden I’ll seek out the plant whether it’s at a nursery or via an online plant company. I’ve ordered plants directly from Proven Winners and Monrovia, as well as from various companies like Bluestone Perennials and White Flower Farm. In my town, a great nursery is Hands Garden Center. Not far from me is Reynold’s Garden Center. To the south is Bob’s Garden Center, which I wish was in my backyard. Bob’s is huge, with several giant greenhouses, an amazing variety of common and unique plants plus their prices are fantastic! Every time I’m there, I wonder why I don’t travel down there more often. 🤔🤣 I also pay attention to the wholesale nursery names on the sides of the plant containers. Many of them have websites, and even though they don’t sell to the public - if I see something on their website that I really want, I’ll ask my local nursery if they can add it to their next order from them. That’s how I lucked out with my True Blue Butterfly Bushes! I hope this helps? 🙂 If I remember correctly, you have a good nursery near you, yes?

      @@GardenSanity Yes I go to Gaskos nursery but it’s next town from me. Thanks for your detailed answer. I’ll try to get some of those plants like you have in your garden.

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 года назад

      Sounds like me: it’s a somewhat of a trip to go to some of these nurseries that are in a different town, but it always ends up being worth it! I just looked at Gasko’s website and it looks like (from their photos) they have a large selection of plants and shrubs in the Spring and Summer which is great!

    Hi Laura, what pot size were the Kramer's Red Winter Heath when you first purchased them? They are so pretty.

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 года назад +1

      Hi Carol, the pot size was a 2.5 quart size. They were small to start out, but they gradually fill in (and out!) over time. I have an article on my website that shows how small they started out, if you’re interested here is the link: www.petscribbles.com/kramers-red-winter-heath/ Thanks for asking! ❄️🙂

      @@GardenSanity I would see these at Lowes and Home Depot around Easter time but thought they were just boring little plants that would quickly stop blooming. I never knew that they had been blooming for months. They are just so pretty!

      Those are the exact ones I’ve purchased at both places over the years. The very first one I ever purchased, I was so surprised the following Winter when it was blooming. I thought it was just a Spring bloomer like you mentioned. From then on, I wanted more! 💜
