Jamie that sweater you were describing is the Whidbey sweater. It has instructions for weaving contrasting colors through the finished sweater. I bought it because it has different versions for women/men/children. I’m always on the hunt for men’s patterns!
I just started the Magnus Cardigan yesterday! Its super fun and easy, I'm an inexperienced crocheter and I'm having no trouble with it! I actually was thinking, I bet Katie would love this, haha!

Jamie why don’t you do a jelly roll blanket and do it dk weight. Have a look at Kay Littons for the changes she made to the original. I’m about to start one too.
