This is a very good price, usually it around 100k, EV infrastructure is very cheap, it's a fraction against cost of a petrol station or even H2, which costs 3 million per charging point.
Australia does not make anything here to do with EVs/Charging , Solar Panels. There are some very sneeky companies that try to elude that they do, but they simply buy all the bits from China and Assemble them here.
Again a great example of wasting tax payers money. I cant believe the senator thinks this was a good idea. Stop wasting our money. The people who buy EV's can pay for this cost, not the taxpayers.

I hope they have significantly upgraded their fire fighting equipment in the car parks (especially the sprinkler systems) where these EVs are and the chargers, as if one EV bursts into flames, well it could burnt down Parliament House or do significant damage. You have been warned.

We taxpayers just love funding chargers and EVs for you politicians. While you are at it, I think we should pay for every one of your family members to have their very own EV and personal charger as well. That will also help power the grid when it falls apart after Labor get re-elected in late 2024. If you politicians need more money for anything at all, don't hesitate to ask we taxpayers. We are so used to paying taxes and most of it being wasted by you guys, we'd feel out if sorts if you actually started spending our money wisely (and we'd dearly miss the ABC too).
I guess it is about fast chargers? So then this would be a very good price, 58 chargers for 2,5 Million ist pretty cheap.... good job, we need more of this! EVs are the future, most people start to realize this by now.
@@thomasarmstrong3804 Consider that you do not need peak load on each charger, so if you have let's say 10 chargers rated at 300kW, in reality you do not need 3MW grid connection as EVs in average charge much slower, so in reality you would be perfectly fine with a 1 to 1,5MW connection. Many fast charging stations have batteries that are loaded by a slower connection, but are able to deliver full power in peak times, which is as usual only during certain times of the day. As renewable energy is usually abundant during noon this batteries provide another relief to the grid and prevent coal from being burnt during the night.
